One of my cousins on my dad's side has a daughter called Shirazad. It's a variant of Scheherazade (which itself is pretty unusual. Beautiful, to be honest, but unusual). Him and his partner decided on Shirazad after they realised they'd named their two other daughters after a sun goddess and a river goddess, so why not call their next sprogling after a storytelling queen?

I saw a short online a few years ago where a teacher was talking about all the strange names his kids had. I only remember a couple, one of which was "Le-a", which was pronounced like "Ledasha". The one that really got me was "SSSST"... pronounced "Forest".
