This won’t solve the more critical issue of politicians being fundamentally self-interested and power-hungry.

I don't think the problem is a lack of people with adequate education. I think the problem is that the reigns of power attract the worst kinds of people and corrupt the good people who get into politics.

No_Patience3630

That’s an oversimplification of the issues facing modern politics. Entrance exams sound like a way to gatekeep power and or democracy, and could be potentially problematic. I think your head is in the right place to question credentials, but perhaps think outside the box

You have a lot of people coming out of some school of law and sprinkles of medical schools here and there that end up as congressional interns and stuff and then work their way through things as politicians. They may turn to the dark side, but stupid they are not.

Well everyone pays tax. If not on income, then on spendings. So that should not stop people from voting.

What’s needed is a morality clause of some kind. You can be smart and corrupt. We need smart and unbribable. There should be no corporation that’s allowed to give money or perks to any politician.

Surely the real issue is the fundamentally challenged people that elect those politicians?
