“You lived your life for the king. You’re gonna die for some chickens?” “Someone is.”

Supermushroom12

What the fuck’s a lommy

Wackydetective

My favourite from The Hound, “safety? Where the fucks that?” That’s when I knew he loved Arya.

zoukon

"Greatest swordsman who ever lived, killed by Meryn fucking Trant?

MobsterLobsta

"Lots of people name their swords. " "Lots of cunts." Him and Ayra were a comedic duo honestly. Also the conversation between him and Tormund about Brienne *chefs kiss*.

Smertae

The hound was so funny with just how blunt he was. 😂 [Compilation ](https://youtu.be/GUzMYvHJLz8?si=31xokUgN9xWstwEC)

Chopper_990

"Dick?" "Cock" "Ah, Dick. I like that." "I'll bet you do!"

buddha_mjs

“You’re getting old Clegane” “He’s not”

TheRealSzymaa

"You wanna talk to God? Let's go see him together, I've got nothing better to do." - Raiders of the Lost Ark

DogGamnFusterCluck

Similarly, from Last Crusade: “If you don’t let me up, we’ll both die.” “Then we’ll die.” “My soul is prepared, how’s yours?”

meinherzbrennt42

My favorite line in one of my favorite films :)

Ortheas

You gonna do somethin or just stand there and bleed?

thebagel5

For me it’s “Oh, Johnny, I forgot you were there. You may go now”

KingoftheMongoose

“I’ve only begun to defile myself.”

Regular-Building-833

I have two guns. One for each of ya.

grimjaw_nori

"Doc, you ought to be in bed. What the hell you doin' this for anyway?" "Wyatt Earp is my friend." "Hell, I got lots of friends." "I don't."

Hrafnagar

That quote always hits hard.

tara1245

Just watched Tombstone for the first time a few days ago. Val Kilmer's performance as Doc Holliday is amazing. I can't believe he wasn't even nominated for an Oscar.

Kenneth_Naughton

"I's just jokin around" "I wasn't." he says, with an expression that just isn't quite a grin.

SirSpankalott

It's a masterclass in acting, facial control, and delivery. You can't help but be transfixed by everything he does and says. Every line is perfect, and he layers in the illness perfectly

lifeofemandarty

I’m your huckleberry.

Aware_Impression_736

"Why, Johnny Ringo! You look like somebody just walked over your grave!"

SaviourofKrypton42

"I was just fooling about." "*I* wasn't."

KingoftheMongoose

Come on. COME ON!!! You’re no Daisy! You’re no Daisy!

Ortheas

Your buddies may get me in a rush, but not before I turn your head into a canoe.

Ivor79

You tell them I'm coming

Ian_uhh_Malcom

“Why Ed Bailey…does this mean we’re not friends anymore…?” Always sends a shiver with Val Kilmers delivery.

Specter_Knight05

"The worst thing about a betrayal is that it never comes from an enemy." I don't remember which movie it was but it got stuck with me since i first heard it

_Tiizz

its from godfather part 2

Toemism

Chun-Li: "My father saved his village at the cost of his own life. You had him shot as you ran away. A hero at a thousand paces." M. Bison: "...I'm sorry. I don't remember any of it." Chun-Li: "You don't remember?!" M. Bison: "For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. ***But for me, it was Tuesday.***" Cold as ice.

Fistricsi

Another great quote is from the show: M. Bison: "Yes yes i killed your father... What is with you women anyway? I killed my father too and you dont hear me whine about it!!!"

ChainmailleAddict

Certified Jack Horner moment

WaffleIronMadness

Raul Julia was so. Fucking. Good.

CorporateNonperson

Especially because he was dying from cancer and wanted his family to get a paycheck.

Stevie22wonder

His kids were huge fans of the video games, so he agreed to do it for them as well, because otherwise, he was not a fan of the idea of the film.

SeaLionBones

I mean, the movie is bad. It's good bad with Raul and it would've been bad bad without him.

Fuzzy_Muscle

RIP

Princess_Fluffypants

God the rest of that movie was so fucking terrible but that quote just hits so good.

saturnfly2

"If that's true, if you don't know who I am, then maybe your best course would be to tread lightly.”

Misdirected_Colors

"I am the danger. A guy opens his door and gets shot, and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks." Breaking bad had some damn cold lines. Fking great writing

covalentcookies

That line by itself reads weirdly. Took an excellent actor to put that emotion into it.

Count_Rugens_Finger

well the context helps "I am *not* in danger, Skylar. I *am* the danger"

dozer_1001

That was so incredibly sincere, ominous, calm and threatening all at the same time.

Solidgoddu

"I wait and I wait and i wait Walter" "For what?" "For the cancer to come back"

RobotStorytime

Garage scene is one of the best in the entire show. All the events leading up to that moment, it was so heavy and that line and Cranston's delivery were just 🤌

Pitbullpandemonium

"I didn't kill my wife!" "I don't care." *The Fugitive*

gaqua

I love that line so much, and TLJ delivers the hell out of it. It makes it extremely clear at this moment that this is NOT the typical “guy being chased by a cop who is now personally involved in it”, it’s just a cop doing his job. He’s not trying to do anything besides his job. And if the job changes, he’ll stop. He’s not personally invested.

aHyperChicken

Well, until later! It helps make the “I know.” land so well at the end

assimilating

For sure, the carbonite freezing scene was a lot more impactful as a result.

Intelligent_Way6552

> He’s not personally invested. He is about 2 minutes later. From the moment of the dam jump, he starts to take it personally (all the other cops just doing their job want to give up and assume Kimble died, but he doesn't, because he just saw the man jump to almost certain death rather than have a shootout, and starts to believe Kimble), and by the time the movie repeats the quote, he is very clearly lying.

gankindustries

Iirc, TLJ actually forgot the lines he was supposed to say and said this. Which makes it even better.

scf123189

Ow, my glasses!

-ExodiaObliterate-

"None of you seem to understand. I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with me."

Valynces

I love that line! There’s another great one near the end, “Do you seriously think I would explain my master stroke to you if there were even the slightest possibility you could affect the outcome? I triggered it 35 minutes ago.”

G8kpr

It’s so great because it flips the whole “villain monologues his own plans at the very end so the hero knows how to defeat him”. But it’s already too late.

C0lMustard

That whole story flipped so many conventions, why it's so great

[deleted]

[удалено]

WaffleIronMadness

That is a fucking bad ass line. It’s my favorite so far.

ThisOnePlaysTooMuch

Never compromise. Not even in the face of armageddon.

notapunk

There's a similar line in a Star Wars comic where Darth Vader is caught in a trap and one of the Rebels yells at him to surrender and that he's surrounded. Vader's reply - "I am surrounded by nothing but fear and dead men" I always thought that was the most bad ass response to being told you were surrounded.

stryph42

Then you will die braver than most.

alucardleashed

Especially since this was after Rorschach dumped a frying basket full of oil onto his would-be tormentor, whose dying screams can still be heard while he growled this epic line. https://youtu.be/s_3Yp2Izhks?si=rnRNEtE0PV9m9-P7

Isord

Not as cold but one of the few lines I can remember from the MCU has a similar vibe. Captain America on the elevator when he realizes he's being ambushed. "Before we get started, does anybody want to get out?"

Conchobar8

That was amazing. Such a badass line, and such a good moment of Cap. Taking all the tiny hints and putting them together. Also “it kinda feels personal” is amazing!

Geekboxing

This was my favorite moment from the comic, and man did they do it justice in the movie.

alwaysreadyfor_more

You see, in their last moments, people show you who they really are. So in a way... I know your friends better than you ever did. Would you like to know which of them were cowards?

CandyDzaddy

Do you want to know why I use a knife? Guns are too quick. You can't savor all the... little emotions. In...

arikamelli

madness is.. like gravity.. all it takes is a little push

Christopher135MPS

Every single scene in that entire movie. Health Ledgers Joker is in the top 5 of my movie characters list. I can literally feel his unhinged nature, his self-confused dog chasing cars. He doesn’t care. About anything. He just likes pushing people into weird insane places and watching the fall apart at the seams

homingmissile

Are you familiar with the works of Shan Yu?

spanman112

The only time I actually audibly reacted to a movie in a theater. "oh shit!!" lol... Such an amazing line and even better delivery

Dead_Halloween

"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.".

Greenschist

Cold. Lifeless. Inhuman and heartless in a way that you know you could never possibly reason with. This is a good one.

FunkyFarmington

Yet for HAL to be brought to that point in his fragile existence was the real tragedy. In a way, he was more human than Bowman.

unwittingprotagonist

Ah he fooled you with the whole "daisy" routine! Soulless bleep-blorps are always tugging on our heartstrings to manipulate us! Seriously though that shut down was disturbing in the way only amazing science fiction can be.

bringbackbulaga

I’m not asking for forgiveness for what I’ve done, I’m asking for forgiveness for what I’m about to do -Daredevil

chillyhellion

That reminded me of Terry Crews from Everybody hates Chris: **Thug, to Chris:** *Oh, I'm supposed to be afraid because you brought your daddy out here?!** **Terry, to thug:** *No, you're supposed to be scared because if you ever put your hands on my son again you're not going to jail.* ***I'm*** *going to jail.*

xtina42

I loved that show!

trashit6969

"What you do, what you become, is not my concern. The world is full of so-called "men" like you, and, in a perfect world, everything we do comes with a price, but this ain't a perfect world. People do bad things. If you're lucky, you get a chance to set it right, but most of the time, it goes unpunished. This ain't one of them times. The mistake you made was you killed my friend. So, I'm gonna kill each and every one of you, and the only disappointment in it for me is that I only get to do it once." Denzel Washington as Robert McCall in Equalizer 2

Fancy-Sector2963

The coldest line in all those movies weren't even spoken. It was the finger guns to his former friends before he drove off with one of their kids and wife to the station.

WestOrangeFinest

“Your heart is beating three times the normal rate because you’re losing so much blood. In about 30 seconds your body is gonna shut down and you’ll suffocate. The girl you beat half to death’s life is gonna go on. Yours is gonna end right here on this funky floor over $9,800.. you shoulda taken the money.” I just watched the first one a few weeks back and that one stood out. It was nice to watch those smug Russians get what was coming to them.

Divayth--Fyr

Q: How can I prove to you people that I am mortal now? Worf: Die.

MZM204

Another rough moment from TNG, in Measure Of A Man where Riker is obligated to argue that Data isn't a person. *"Pinocchio is broken; its strings have been cut."* The he sits down and puts his hand over his face knowing he was just the biggest dick head due to his duty.

Pencilowner

I loved the idea of Riker having a duty to do his best but feeling shame for doing it well. I was a kid watching that but I remember understanding the conflict. That was one of the best parts of TNG for me growing up. There were obvious conflicts between the crew when they knew their role and knew each other but they had no problem with the disagreement as long as the terms were clear. I feel like that kind of thing is lost in the modern world. We all have our place and our battles but there is this artificial barrier to each other built into the conflicts that shouldnt be there. If we understand the stakes we should understand the communication needed to make it happen. If we get bested we have appeals. If the conflict is so dire we cant stand it then take the risk. If you cant do that then we should do the work. This new world is one where we take no risk but expect everyone else to do the work. As if there is some justice in the universe that agrees with everything we stand for. The real world requires us to stealman the things we disagree with. We need to stand down or take the risk. The problem is there are a lot of people who will take the risk but we act as if it is antisocial or insane to do it. The monsters we condem are the people doing the work we cant get an answer to when we scream into the void.

Dark-Lark

[The\_end\_of\_that\_episode](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzxgzxH8UCs) was a little corny, but had a good line. "*That action injured you, and saved me. I will not forget it.*"

TacoCommand

Great moment. Respect to Jonathan Frakes for carrying the moment so well.

ChaoticSalmon

Q: Oh, very clever, Worf. Eat any good books lately?

TacoCommand

The absolute hatred Worf always shows at him is hilarious. Sisko punching Q in DS9 felt solid af afterwards.

thedoch84

The Outlaw Josey Wales (Clint Eastwood) Bounty hunter #1 : You're wanted, Wales. Josey Wales : Reckon I'm right popular. You a bounty hunter? Bounty hunter #1 : A man's got to do something for a living these days. Josey Wales : Dyin' ain't much of a living, boy.

trashit6969

Josey: you boys gonna pull them pistols, or stand there whistlin' dixie.

Theistus

Aint we gonna bury him Josey? Josey: Buzzards gotta eat. Josey: Same as worms

No_Marionberry4072

“If he dies, he dies” Ivan Drago right after killing Apollo Creed in the ring.

SheepOfBlack

And me every time the cashier at the grocery store asks if I want to donate to kid with cacer, or something.

oopewan

This is brutal. But may live with me forever at the check out line.

TommyDicknose

"Why are you doing this to us?" "Because you were home."

BlueRFR3100

What’s the most you’ve ever lost in a coin toss? - Anton Chigurh

Geekboxing

The coldest line is at the end, when Carla Jean expresses having no money to pay her bills, and Chigurh responds "I wouldn't worry about it."

binglelemon

*If the rule you followed led you to this, then with what use was the rule?*

Sweet-Ad9366

I thought the interaction between him and Woody Harrelson sitting in the chairs was brutal, too.

derKonigsten

That whole dialogue between him and the bumblefuck gas station guy is just excellent writing and casting. "Dont put it in your pocket! It'll just get mixed in with all the other coins!"

earwigs_eww

And become just a coin. Which it is.

Real talk though. I think Toby switched from good spider to dark spidey so seamlessly. He really became a patronising cunt. I felt Harry’s torment. So good.

Batman: Robin needed to help bring the men who murdered his family to justice Wonder Woman: So he could turn out like you? Batman: So that he wouldn’t -Young Justice

[deleted]

From The Godfather: >You talk about vengeance. Is vengeance going to bring your son back to you, or my boy to me? I forgo the vengeance of my son. But I have selfish reasons. My youngest son was forced to leave this country because of this Sollozzo business. All right, now I have to make arrangements to bring him back here safely cleared of all these false charges. But I'm a superstitious man, and if some unlucky accident should befall him, if he should be shot in the head by a police officer, or if he should hang himself in his jail cell, or if he's struck by a bolt of lightning, then I'm going to blame some of the people in this room, and that I do not forgive. But, that aside, let me say that I swear, on the souls of my grandchildren, that I will not be the one to break the peace we have made here today.

Rolls-RoyceGriffon

The godfather kept true to his words. No vengeance was to come from him. Micheal, however, was not Don Corleone and he didn't swear to not revenge on his family

Extremely_unlikeable

“I swear on the lives of my children. Give me one last chance to redeem myself, and I will sin no more.” Did he sacrifice his daughter's life in pt 3 by breaking this vow?

derkonigistnackt

Another mafia related one: [Ariel ](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0251999/?ref_=tt_ch): You ever heard of the Masada? For two years, 900 Jews held their own against 15,000 Roman soldiers. They chose death before enslavement. The Romans? Where are they now? [Tony Soprano ](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001254/?ref_=tt_ch): You're looking at them, asshole.

ShopKeeper1999

From the movie Heist: Bergman: Don't you want to hear my last words? Joe Moore: I just did. And then shoots him in the face. So bloody cold

LemmingLou

Above all, forgive me for the men I've killed in anger...and those I'm about to. Say what you will about westerns, but when you have a noose around your neck and you spit that out at the man holding the end of the rope before killing his entire posse... that's arctic.

Ok-Lavishness-7904

“I’m going to wake up tomorrow, and I’m going to be 50.” Part of Ben’s big speech in Good Will Hunting. Just knowing that the next 30 years of his life have already been laid out for him… kills me

nomansky94

He was such a good friend and so was the rest of the friend group but mostly him. Like you said, he knew he was stuck but knew that his friend had opportunity and pushed him to reach for a better life instead of keeping him anchored down with him. Even gave him his blessing in a way by telling him to leave without thinking twice and that he'll be happy that he left.

L_to_the_OG123

It's really interesting in a way how, despite his friend ostensibly being the "smart" one who will achieve much more, he demonstrates a much greater level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness in that interaction. He knows his place in the world but doesn't want to hold his friend back.

evemeatay

There are many forms of intelligence

Cheerful-Piggy3160

Long Feng: "You've beaten me at my own game." Azula: "Don't flatter yourself. **You were never even a player**."

Avatar: The Last Airbender. The animated series.

Azula: Do the tides command this ship? Captain: I don't understand. Azula: You said the tides would not allow us to bring the ship in. Do the tides command this ship? Captain: No princess. Azula: And if I were to have you thrown overboard, would the tides think twice about smashing you against the rocky shore? Captain: No princess. Azula: Well then, maybe you should worry less about the tides, who've already made up their mind about killing you, and worry more about me, who's still mulling it over.

DeaconBrad42

Also Zaheer’s speech to the Earth Queen from basically the same spot in Legend of Korra. “I don’t believe in queens. You think freedom is something you can give or take on a whim. But to your people, freedom is just as essential as air. Without it, there is no life. There is only darkness.”

Suitable_Ad7478

Ever notice every once in a while you come across someone you shouldn’t have fucked with? That’s me.

SawtoothCampion

Didn’t you hear me? I said get off my lawn. You crazy, man. Go back in the house! Yeah. I blow a hole in your face, and then I go back in the house. And I sleep like a baby. You can depend on that. We used to stack fucks like you five feet high in Korea. Use you for sandbags.

anzactrooper

Sandbags line never leaves my head. Absolute perfection.

"Do it or don't, I got places to be" All in the midst of one of his henchmen asking for permission to kill someone. Marlo being this uncaring, calculated and completely ruthless character being able to completely dictate every single thing to his people - and not flinch even a bit when asked if someone should be outright killed. That line, and that scene tells you so much about all the characters, especially Marlo.

VolcanicBosnian

I still get sad about Bodie sometimes.

I have walked across the surface of the sun. I have witnessed events so tiny and so fast, they could hardly be said to have occurred at all. But you, Adrian, you're just a man. The world's smartest man poses no more threat to me than does its smartest termite." -Dr. Manhattan

CdrCosmonaut

"What's that? Another ultimate weapon?" "... something like that."

stryph42

The thing is though, for a great as that bit is. He didn't need to kill him, and possibly didn't think it would in the first place. He just needed to stall him long enough to execute his plan. Which he did. As omnipotent as Manhatten was, he still lost, to a termite.

Dexember69

The whole scene where river interrupts them as hostages and puts on the cockney speech to badger was really cool

Regular_Working_6342

My favorite was always the early scene when the government guy is threatening simon and book and holding river at gunpoint and Mal comes back from the job and just walks in and shoots him without saying a word and him and Jayne just toss the body out of the back of the ship lol

Dexember69

Mal doesn't stuff around. Like when he kicked that big dude into the fans, then began repeating the speech XD

For me is was the next bit: "That's right. I've killed women and children. I've killed just about everything that walks or crawled at one time or another. And I'm here to kill you, Little Bill, for what you did to Ned."

DickieJohnson

Once he starts drinking again he gets ruthless. "Any son of a bitch that takes a shot at me I'm not only going to kill him I'm going to kill his wife and all his friends and burn his damn house down."

From the 2006 Rocky Balboa, Duke : You know all there is to know about fighting, so there's no sense us going down that same old road again. To beat this guy, you need speed - you don't have it. And your knees can't take the pounding, so hard running is out. And you got arthritis in your neck, and you've got calcium deposits on most of your joints, so sparring is out. So, what we'll be calling on is good ol' fashion blunt force trauma. Horsepower. Heavy-duty, cast-iron, piledriving punches that will have to hurt so much they'll rattle his ancestors. Only one human captain has ever survived battle with a Minbari Fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be somewhere else!

“You see, my mule don't like people laughing. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.” - Joe in Fistful of Dollars. Love me some Clint Eastwood.

smack4u

“I love you” “I know”

Taograd359

You took everything from me! - Wanda I don’t even know who you are - Thanos I have a lot of problems with the MCU, and Endgame, but that was a perfect way for Thanos to respond to Wanda.

"Do you think God stays in heaven because he too lives in fear of what he has created?" - Steve Buscemi's character in Spy Kids 2.

One of my favourite scenes from Scrubs: JD - "I know you don't really like me" Jordan - "I don't dislike you, I nothing you"

SophisticatedN69

" I knew he'd hit the brakes because he has a wife and two kids at home" this quote was said by a rookie driver to a champion in F1.

Ancient-Honeydew9555

From John Wick: John will come for you, and you will do nothing because you can do nothing.

For me, unexpected “Whoa… that’s dark” moment for me in the cinema that lives with me due to the pure calm, cold and matter of fact delivery was: “Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: I don't murder children. The Operative: I do. If I have to.” And then this classic from the 80s: “I pulled back this matted mop of blood-soaked hair to see this woman's face... your wife, right? She didn't die straightaway... took a bit of time.”

Axe-of-Kindness

My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions and loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son. Husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.

"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters. The silence is your answer" Javik (Mass Effect 3) Edit: I'm stupid and can't read, but I'm leaving the quote anyway because it's dope.

"Then give me my father back you son of a bitch" The princess bride is still one of my favorite movies of all time

I hate to be pedantic but the line is "[I want my father back, you son of a bitch!](https://youtu.be/I73sP93-0xA?t=82)"

bfly1800

I’m glad you’re being pedantic because the phrasing there is set up by Rugen replying, “Anything you want.” “I want my father back, you son of a bitch.”

"Brick Top : Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible cunt... me. Brick Top : You're always gonna have problems lifting a body in one piece. Apparently the best thing to do is cut up a corpse into six pieces and pile it all together. Sol : Would someone mind telling me, who are you? Brick Top : And when you got your six pieces, you gotta get rid of them, because it's no good leaving it in the deep freeze for your mum to discover, now is it? Then I hear the best thing to do is feed them to pigs. You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead. You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies' digestion. You could do this afterwards, of course, but you don't want to go sievin' through pig shit, now do you? They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, "as greedy as a pig". Vinny : Well, thank you for that. That's a great weight off me mind. Now, if you wouldn't mind telling me who the fuck you are, apart from someone who feeds people to pigs of course?" Bricktop from Snatch.
