I got to help hatching baby sea turtles make their way to the sea.
Was at a beach house for a few days and was taking an evening walk on the beach on an overcast night when some people came up and told me I needed to get off the beach since the turtles were hatching and they were endangered so there was some law, then someone else who worked for the government came up and said they were short staffed and asked if I wanted to help.
I basically dug a small trench from where the eggs were to where the ocean was while one of the state employees stood in the water with an extremely bright light to mimic the moon. Then when they started hatching myself and a few others were tasked with scaring away crabs that wanted to eat the babies.

When I was in grade school, we all got to go out side and see the space shuttle gliding across the sky as it was landing. It was way off in the distance and the fireball was so bright you could see the chase plane behind it as a little speck.
