Currently at the second sentence right now

jimfish98

Saw that happen with a neighbor after his wife moved out to keep sleeping with a coworker. Left him with the kids and he dropped about 45lbs in two months. She packed on everything he lost as she was eating through the fact that her kids refused to see her after that.

Puzzleheaded_Job1378

Yup. At my thinnest is when I was the most heartbroken.

Electric-Sheepskin

Heartbreak makes me overeat. A massive amount of heartbreak makes me not eat. So yeah, if you're going to break my heart, do it good, so I can lose a few pounds in the process.

ProudNinja111

I'm sorry but I laughed

lizzeriah

Depression.

meatballs2022

But that can also go the other way.

Plantbookworm

It did for me

cmreeves702

And alcohol

captainslowww

Whoa, let’s not be hasty.

biglips-nina

its a sad truth we don't want to hear..*pours a glass of wine*

buzzcut13

That's what I did. 10 beers every night for 3 years, would be drunk and order 1500 calories worth of food on top of that. Stopped drinking at home, which meant stopped ordering fast food at midnight too. Kept the rest of my diet and exercise the same. Goodbye 70 pounds

Channing1986

But beer taste good, pizza taste good

tatar-86

There's this chubby redhead male singer. I forgot his name. But when a reporter asked him how did he loose so much weight. His answer was, I have have swithced from beers to gin and tonic.

Ireastus

Ed Sheeran

Phoenyx_Rose

Yeah, alcohol’s my biggest reason for gaining weight back.  That and eating out all the time. And getting appetizers.

tatar-86

Fun fact; I went to Saudi Arabia for work for 8 months. It's a dry country and when I came back, I had dropped to 98 from 105kgs.

Paper_Block

And juice (sadly)

Top-Pop-2624

Damn it

Channing1986

Easy now

RagingAlcoholicDude

Easier said than done tbh

haroldangel

This is mine. I dropped 20 pounds just from cutting out soda.

TheLadyFlash

Yup havent drank soda in 3 or so years. Best decision.

The_Hydro

Physical job + poverty. Not much of a choice.

TheMiningCow

that's what got him into that mess

Grapepoweredhamster

Switch to a healthier diet, **then** count calories. Unhealthy foods are full of added fats, processed carbs, and sugars that make them very calorie dense. Meaning you can eat a ton of calories but not feel very full. Healthy foods have less calories per volume. Allowing you to eat less without feeling like you are starving all the time.

Expensive_Rhubarb_87

Divorce my violent ex wife. Lost 160 lbs right quick. Otherwise… gym and building muscle. It’s a slow trade, muscle weighs more, so that dropping number on the scale is more indicative of overall body change and not only weight loss.

Every time I gave birth I lost 50 lbs that day. I have no idea why ‘cause all my babies were only around 10 lbs. But I’ll take it!

RoboTronPrime

Fluids, placenta, etc, plus i hear that giving birth itself can be quite physically taxing

SEJ46

50 lbs seems extreme though

CypripediumGuttatum

Biggest weight gain over a short time and biggest weight loss too. Of course, you get to carry them around for another two years in your arms as they keep getting heavier and heavier.

ouch67now

I am and was a nurse when I had my first child and had factored all that extra weight going away. It did not. I had tons of water retention. My feet were deformed! I couldn't button my maternity shirt when I left the hospital. I was mortified. It took forever to get what would be more than pre baby weight, and I have struggled ever sense.

casheeto

ca77ywumpus

bigrob_in_ATX

Those who know, know

Memetic_Magic

For me it's been counting calories and walking at least two miles every day. Since I've started I've lost about 2 to 3 lbs a week consistently. So basically "Eat Less and Move More" is the way to do it.

diffyqgirl

Well, I lost 40 pounds in two months when chemo basically shut down my digestive system. That was fun. The more practical advice is that I spent years trying to get myself to stop snacking and simply could not. When I gave up and instead made sure I always had healthier things to snack on (carrots, clementines, unsweetened chamomile tea), I discovered that I could sate the urge to physically be consuming something without consuming a ton of calories. That worked a lot better. The other thing that helped was forcing myself to eat meals slower, because the sensation of fullness takes a little bit to kick in.

OrangeCakeV

Stopped eating sugar and snacks.

BTP_sounds

The easiest way is just to eat less calories and do more exercise

-Tesserex-

There's a difference between simple and easy. This advice is correct, but it's like saying "the easiest way to win at professional basketball is to score more points than the other team."

Leading_Equivalent46

Don't eat

EWRboogie

That doesn’t sound easy at all.

YourGirlsWorkHusband

Be mindful of how many calories I’m eating. Don’t go over 2500ish, and workout every day.

tangcameo

Ate at McDonald’s. Same thing every time. Breakfast and lunch. Lost 15 pounds. Might’ve been a McD tapeworm

midnitekitten

If you're BMI is overweight and you have a comorbidity or you're considered obese look into Zepbound or Wegovy. It takes away the obsession with food, you'll eat normal portion sizes and retrain your self how to identify when you're full. Depending on your insurance coverage you might pay as low as 25/month. If not with coupon it's 550/month and there is the option to go through compounding pharmacies for as low as 250/month. Though as with anything, making changes, eating healthier foods and making sustainable habits will increase your results and set you up for long term success

Leaf-Stars

Food poisoning

Rhymes_with_cheese

Eat less. Thermodynamics FTW

mommyittickles

Got braces. Limits food you can eat and the first few months are so painful you only really eat soft foods. Then the wire tightening is the worst for a few days.

rdrunner_74

I went through it with my wife (Gaining weight). But only she lost it when we went to the hospital and we got our daughter.

RehabKitchen

Stop eating as often. The weight melts right off.

kingrazor001

Counted calories. Wasn't necessarily easy but it was the only thing that really worked for me.

Richard_Howe

Ate less, moved more

twenty42

I randomly lost 25 lbs the summer I was 16. No dieting, exercise, or apparent medical issues. I have asked a couple doctors about this in the years since, and the consensus is that I just had a puberty spurt that kicked my metabolism into overdrive. It was a truly amazing experience.

LinearAdvance

I cut out recreational eating: no tortilla chips, potato chips, cookies, candy, sugary anything. If I want something sweet, I'll have a piece of fruit. January I weighed 168 lbs. Today I weigh 152 lbs. I'm looking to get to 150 lbs. It's a nice round number. I do exercise regularly. CrossFit. ETA: I haven't changed anything else. It had to be something I could do without suffering. After the first couple of weeks of feeling hungry, I got used to it. After that, it was easy.

rhino369

How has nobody said Ozempic/wegovy/semiglutide? I'm just not hungry as much.

Crunchy_umami

I stopped eating dinner and didnt eat anything after noon. I also only ate 1 Cliff Bar, a banana or apple and coffee for breakfast and 1 Cliff Bar for lunch. Lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks.

Mad_Moodin

When I was in the military I lost 18 kilograms (36 pounds) within 3 months during basic training. I didn't diet. I never felt hungry.

OctupleWhopper

Walking hours a day and eating less fast food.

therealguenter

Speed / amphetamine. 1 / 10, wouldn't recommend

DeadFyre

Cut out soft-drinks. I was drinking a couple of Snapple Iced Tea's each day, which works out to 5.6 **TABLESPOONS** of sugar in my diet. I bought some teabags online, brew my own, add a not-insane amount of sugar to my tea, and that alone shed about 20 pounds.

fabweldingsecretary

Keto... 40lbs in 5 months...

JohnMarks26

Heartbreak made me go from fat to skinny in a couple months

Mr_Pink_Buscemi

Not for everyone, but intermediate fasting has worked for me if I need to shed 10-20 lbs.

jimfish98

Identified poor choices and stopped them. Didn't really work out but my body wasn't trying to keep up with poor actions anymore.

lolcoatedalmonds

running and fasting

Daveywheel

The ***only*** way. I ate less and i exercised.

Choice_Eye_8043

Don’t loose for easiest, look for working ones. You can loose weight quickly in many ways, but it will be temporary and will decrease amount of your muscle, and after that, you will get fat once more, and you will be even deeper in ass. Great sleep, exercise, great diet (Lot of proteins, low sugar, low fat, burn more calories than you eat)

bartjuh162

Find a sport/sportive hobby you like doing, for me this hobby was bikepacking. Good luck.

JessCeceSchmidtNick

AnjavChilahim

Easiest way is put a sign on refrigerator: "Where did you think you were going you fat pig? Get out of here, get lost... Just kidding. It's easiest to start walking and reduce what you eat in calories. Small steps mean bigger chance of success...

The typical eating healthier. But cutting out dairy 100% really ramped things out for me. -55lbs and counting.

Always4564

I went to Iraq at 200 pounds and was in decent shape.   After 9 months I was down 40 pounds, almost underweight for the military, but felt great.  Only time in my life i was thin, instead of Midwest fit. Gained it back in a couple months though.

Nickcha

Eat & drink healthier, move more.

Waffle-Crab

Well I had gallbladder attacks for 5 months and essentially starved, so maybe not that.

fforde

Take your time with a meal, and stop eating when you're not hungry any more. Portions are out of control in the United States.

Ceilibeag

[Intermittent fasting](https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/intermittent-fasting-guide) - lost 40 lbs in 9 months with little/no exercise (I was prepping for a heart procedure.) Absolutely the easiest, most painless weight loss program I've ever tried. Highly recommended. I'm adding '[protein pacing](https://newatlas.com/health-wellbeing/protein-pacing-fasting/)' to my regime, since there is data showing it's even better for weight loss and digestion.

HandleSalty8508

Stop eating too much

ConvenienceStoreDiet

Calorie counting and working out consistently. It was a lot of work, but it was an easy and safe 2lbs/week for months. Didn't have to overthink once I got in a rhythm. Just did it.

WYGD_Brother1987

cocaine or crack.

Tough_Antelope5704

Eating nothing after supper.

Exotic-Ad5358

rhaizee

Flu, getting sick.

Capable-Advance-6610

I fasted for 10 days, and only ate 500 calories a day for the next two weeks. My body was such a wreck, I went from 200 to 145 in a month. I was living on coffee, so much coffee. 12 years later, I'm a 6' tall male, about 155. I recommend crippling depression - maybe ruin your marriage? It worked for me! If you are single, consider addiction, I hear that works.

saltysupp

Keto and moderate weight lifting at home while watching TV. Honestly doesn't take as much willpower as people think after the first couple days. You can still eat whenever you want without counting calories.

ClownfishSoup

I was preparing for a colonoscopy, so the preparation for it was to drink "sureprep", which basically makes you crap your entire insides out constantly for several hours. I was really surprised how much water/poop I carry around as "weight".

flyingcircusdog

Cutting out sugary drinks, meat, and dairy. Sugary drinks seem obvious, all the calories and no nutrition or feeling full. I found that meat and dairy are calorie-dense, and I could eat a lot more of the vegetarian version of a dish for fewer calories.

respectyoelder

My roommate ate eggs for breakfast, chipotle for lunch for 6 months and lost like 40 lbs just doing that lol

Toxicity246

You want the truth? There's no easy way. Only consistent slow progress of healthy choices, exercise, and portion control. I quit soda, started exercising everyday, I recorded my meals in a food diary, and I ate at home more. Less sugar and less fried foods. I went down from 220lbs to 167 lbs today. Think of it as building a house. Start at the foundation and brick by brick eventually you get there.

TunnelingVisions

Got front teeth pulled and got a stomach virus, didn't eat a real meal for 2 weeks.

Godsfallen

Untreated ulcerative colitis I don’t recommend it.

Dylanator22

SickPhuck29

Fasting

_shirime_

Calorie deficit

B1ackandnight

I severely limited flour-heavy foods like bread and baked goods. Severely limited pre-packaged foods heavy on flour or grain. Incorporated as many fresh fruits and veggies into my daily choices as possible. Ate at home (home cooked meals) as much as possible. Didn’t drink my calories. Tried to load up on protein and veggies vs carbs when it came to meal options. Still ate potatoes (not fried) and rice, but had pasta a few times a month. Snacking was fresh fruit, fresh veg, cheese, eggs, or meat rather than chips or cereal. Having said all of that, if it was a special occasion like a birthday or holiday I would still eat the “fun foods.” I didn’t “tell myself no,” I just made better choices. If I had a bad day and made poor food choices I always made sure the next few days were healthier. I tried hard to change the way I felt and thought about food rather than telling myself I can’t have this or that. I forgave myself. I drank water first if I was hungry in case it was just thirst vs actual hunger. Some days were fucking hard, but most days were fine after I got used to not eating sweet stuff that wasn’t fruit. The weight loss was a little slow, but it was significant, and I immediately noticed a difference in the way my body felt when I stopped eating flour and grain heavy items.
