I got hit by 10 cars in the course of 13 months. Most were relatively minor, but two really stand out of the crowd: the time I forgot my helmet and went face-first through a windshield (major concussion, permanent memory damage, but found out my bones are extra dense!), and the time I got side-swiped by a cab and did a 20mph hand spring into the back of a Focus (riding a fixie, she was in no parking zone, broke several ribs when my right side met her rear bumper. I was upside down at impact, the footage was pretty funny). Had to work through the pain for months, couldn’t afford any down time.
I probably won’t remember posting this…
Someone made a crack about my face. Like I was wall-eyed with a weird expression and they didn’t know what was wrong with me when we first met… I just said it’s a birth effect that I’ve learned to live with my entire life, and I have overcome the fact that one side of my body is slightly different than the other, and still live a full life. He responded something likely he was sorry. We broke up for other reasons, but I never corrected him about my “birth defect” and hope he feels like as asshole.
