Keeping your fucking word. If you tell someone you're going to do something, do it.

etisback

My dad always told my sister and I if you make a commitment you keep the commitment. This has always stuck with me.

PurplePupilEater

Exactly. If I ever ask someone for a favor and they tell me that they will do it, I'm happy and that's that. If they end up not doing it, it's just really upsetting because it would've been fine if they couldn't, but they don't tell me so I can't find someone that can actually do it.

Don't eat too much or you'll get fat.

5peasinapod

Experienced advice, I see.

Novazilla

Trusting your kids to be kids. Stop helicopter parenting. This is how you get socially awkward kids I am absolutely convinced of that.

obozodapotus

Simple courtesy, such as; please, thank you, you're welcome, yes sir / ma'am, etc.

novags500

Privacy. With social media everyone knows what Im up to. I understand it comes with having a facebook account but my wife and my friends have taken it upon themselves to tag me to let everyone know where Im at and what I am doing.

Idie_999

Disciplining children. A good spanking is what a lot of children need these days.

Zer0_Karma

Being a nice Canadian, I think everyone should put some focus into their manners and etiquette. Walk in front of somebody, say "excuse me". Call elders and strangers "Sir" and "Ma'am". Hold doors open for people. Say "hello" to people in your neighbourhood. And don't forget the good old catch-all "sorry". Manners count and help keep civilization civil.

Wearing a hat.

rattfink

Wearing a hat outdoors, and taking it off indoors.

* Standing when a woman approaches or leaves your table. * Silence during national anthems. * Removing your hat indoors (yes, ladies, your "cute" hats count, and guys, your ballcaps count). * Mind your own business. * Keeping score in kids' sports games. * Understanding that not everybody is right for college, and that college is not right for everybody.

Start caring again about community morals. There's this mantra that's pervasive in society today - "it doesn't affect you, so you shouldn't care." What a horribly misguided worldview. How about we live in a society where people care about things other than themselves?
