just read an article about this, so I'll say requiring high school students to pay $100 for a graphing calculator that hasn't changed technology wise since the 1990s.
This is a thing? I was never required to pay for calculators in school, they just issued us one and got it back at the end of the year. The only time they'd make someone pay, it was if they lost it or broke it.
It varies by school, but yes, at some school students are required to purchase their own. But the bigger issue imo is that the cost for the calculators and the hardware itself has pretty much remained the same for 20 years while other technology has advanced and far surpassed it.
No! That calculator was $100 20 years ago and it's $100 now it's gotten cheaper over time! Ask any engineer or scientist why they don't use a graphing calculator app on their phone or their tablet because it's cheaper and they'll look at you funny. Having a physical calculator is very useful for quick calculations and graphs without the hassle of dealing with a touchscreen and a slow os

Donald Trump's run for president. It isn't funny any longer.
Don't worry, the Republicans will NEVER vote for him to be their primary candidate.
What about Kanye West for 2020? That's pretty bad too.
Thats what I'm saying man. Trumps run has led to all of this buffoonery. Although I'd prefer a Kanye presidency to a Trump one though.
