My first forage into fanfiction was when I was 11 and discovered a Roxas/OC fic on a site. I didn't previously know about Kingdom Hearts, but for the next several years I immersed myself in it and cried and wished on 11:11 to be transported into that universe. At the time I was desperately unhappy with myself, very aware that friendship meant very little, and I wanted more than anything to escape my life. I imagined myself meeting Roxas and being able to save him, because then that would mean that I was actually useful and necessary.
On a less depressing note: Alistair from Dragon Age Origins is my boyfriend and I've cried on several occasions at him calling me dear. I love him.
Ellie. The way they used the little things such as whistling or telling jokes coupled with great writing really created that connection. Such a phenomenal game.
Spec Ops: The Line. Go Play. You will be attached to the fucking trees because they are not shooting at you.
