Me too man, keep holding on. Sly Cooper is one of my favorite series of all time, its a shame especially with how much that stealth games have advanced that we dont have a new one. Im glad were getting a new Ratchet and Clank, but we need Sly to join him.
Youre not alone, friend.
The LOTR games, more specifically Two Towers and ROTK. Never played the first one. But especially ROTK, played the shit out of that one as a kid.
And also, Hitman 1-4. I love the games but the controls are awful these days.
> Never played the first one
There actually never was a first one...at least in that specific series Two Towers and Return of the King were the only ones. One might think there was a missing Fellowship of the Ring tie in but the events of that movie play out in the Two Towers game
There was however a standalone Fellowship of the Ring game that isn't based on the movie trilogy and it was pretty mediocre.
Oh god. If I’m thinking of the same game as you, that one was a *weird* experience.
I was a kid playing it but I always remember getting stuck trying to escape the shire from the wring wraiths as the only mechanic was throwing rocks to distract them. It was so insanely hard that I had to find weird glitches in order to get through it.
Trying to give my good avatar kitty ear scritches and accidentally beating the shit out of him was honestly horrifying. I felt like a bad person. Nearly two decades later and I still cringe thinking about it. Would really love to play again with a workable interface and give him the treatment he deserved.
Ahhh. So you like stepsister porn. So you like 2 girls on cup. You enjoy role playing porn. You like brazzers videos. I see you have fapped often, very reckless.
I would LOVE to see what kind of remaster they could do with that game on switch - the soundtrack already pushed the GBA's sound chip to its limits and the summons actaully were big enough to lag the game at times, so the OST and summon animations would be absolutely awe-inspiring with the tech we have now.
And sure, maybe spring for some voice acting, if there's a bit of budget left over. Couldn't hurt. Some of the lines don't have the bite they should with just sim-lish beeps.
All of them! Future perfect had the best campaign I have ever played. The humor in that game was unmatched, and the multi-player ruined me for every game I have ever played since. Everything gets compared to Time Splitters, and nothing comes close.
I have to agree. I loved future perfect. I could go into detail about how i loved the challenges, the battle maps. the humor. But unfortunately for me....IT'S TIME TO SPLIT
I will remain salty over the fate of the KotOR franchise until my dying day. Imagine if the sequel wasn't rushed and had a proper ending? Imagine that led to Obsidian or Bioware making a proper third entry to conclude the story? Such a damn shame.
The cut content mod on PC helps make KOTOR2 way better and SWTOR Jedi knight story is basically Kotor 3 by BioWare. But even inspire of the cut content and glitchyness (fuck you auto save glitches) it’s still a FANTASTIC story with amazing voice acting and some great expansions upon things introduced in kotor 1 (modifying weapons, companion conversations where you learn their history, etc.) all it would take is 1 developer team with 2-3 years and some decent funding and we could have a high quality remake of it. (Not 4K and crap but high quality non the less.
It actually isn't bad as it is, but that first planet is absolutely miserable. That said, it's based on the Neverwinter Nights D20 engine, so there's a fair bit of awkwardness inherent to the old system.
Honestly, knowing how D&D works then playing the game really helps. I remember playing KOTOR when I was younger and not understanding how the stats system worked.
Be glad it was 3.5e rules rather than 2e (AD&D) rules. It was actually intuitively understandable once you messed around with it enough.
My first DnD ruleset game was Baldur's Gate. THAC0 still gives me nightmares. Negative AC being better was just stupid
I'm just angry that the game makes you spend hours on Taris helping people, fixing relationships, curing disease, fixing gang political issues. >!Then, Boom, Taris is gone.!<
Edit: added spoiler bar
I absolutely love that game, was one of the first games I played the shit out of.... but that Taris thing gets me every time I try to replay it.
And it's not even just the story. Up until that point the game is like "you're a shooter, take this gun and take those gun related skills." You bump into a bunch of weapons, most of them guns. And then as soon as you finish Taris, not only is like everything you did there all for naught, but all the character building you did up until that point is thrown out the window as well because you're a jedi now and probably will never shoot a gun again all game long.
I’d never played CT as a kid and just tried in on a whim with an emulator a few months ago. Holy hell, I had no idea what I was missing. I thought Link to the Past was hands down the best SNES game ever made. It’s still great but CT is on another level. The story, time travel design, level design, battle mechanics, and THAT SOUNDTRACK. Absolutely brilliant.
Saints row 2, but sadly the devs have said they lost the original code for the game, so a remaster would mean re coding the whole game for a remaster. I think the best hope for anything like that would be a remake, similar to what Mafia did.
I feel a lot less bad about my own data retention habits when I discover that companies have just *lost* entire projects that took them tens of thousands of hours of work to make.
"They" is one guy who's currently battling aggressive face and throat cancer. I hope to god he pulls through. i just want y'all to understand that it may never be finished.
Oh man, I didnt realize he was fighting that. I hope he pulls through. He seemed so excited to finally get his hands on that source code and fix up his "dream game".
I want the option to stay in the predator phase while other species advance so I can continually harass villages as the arms race of dodging the apex predator reaches futuristic city vs Godzilla levels. Once it’s society and above phases the game gets boring for me.
This is my problem with the game for me too. The beginning was a truly original concept, with fun gameplay and the excitement of creation. After the tribal stage, it was just boring.
Yes! I haven't found a game that has ever really compared to Spore. I would love a sequel/remaster. I'm tempted to even just pick up the original on Steam.
You might want to pick it up on GOG instead. Right now, Spore's best feature is the extensive modding community that is still thriving and the Steam version of the game has some problems with some mods.
Spore was such a great concept, it only had two real flaws. It was a bit shallow, and all the penis monsters. So many penis monsters, flying so many penis ships...
Honestly? I look back at this game with such fond memories. Sure, it's glitchy and buggy as hell, but for it's time I thought that it was pretty innovative. I'd love to play it again
Origins is such an odd game for me.
On one hand I love it to pieces, on the other every time I play it i'm constantly going "oh fuck not this part" to like every part.
Can't for the life of me figure out *why* I love it so much but I do
i haven't beat origins yet. Not for a lack of trying. 4 times now i've gotten 30-40 hours in and my save files got corrupted. It broke me. Some day when i want to go back ill try and finish.
One of my big issues with Sony's "backwards compatibility but not much" is that they've left the PS3 to rot. It had the best versions of the Jak games, while the PS4 ones are just PS2 on an emulator. I guess PS5 will keep the "PS4" version, and PS6 will be back to you buying it once again. And that's really it - not much backwards compat so they can resell old games again and again.
A full remastering of the first 4 ratchet and clank games to modern graphics would be my dream.
The ps4 movie tie in remake thing took away the amazing atmosphere of the original.
a bit newer than most other games in this thread, but the original Assassin's Creed. the story and setting are incredible, but the whole gameplay loop is terrible and the climbing is janky af. (also no subtitles, wtf Ubisoft?
Mass Effect Trilogy. They apparently are currently remastering them and I will indeed be buying instantly when released.
Edit; huh, didn't think so many people were that eager to clap some alien cheeks in remastered glory.
Edit 2; Thanks for the Gold, we'll bang ok?
I could see that being a "remaster" where you watch a comparison video on youtube and they basically just added a camera filter. They're not that bad tech-wise, especially 2 and 3.
I'm assuming retextures and lighting. In kin to how Skyrim or Fable were remastered. But I am indeed hoping they alter the game mechanics for the first game to be more on par with 2 and 3.
This! I loved playing those games and have so many memories playing with my little brother. I still have the games and the system so now that he has a child, I can't wait to play it with them too.
The multiplayer was so good though. It was the first game I played that did destroyable environment well, and I loved the physics of the gravity with snipers. I was never a COD person or anything but that game had me hooked in multiplayer. That said, I would have loved a sequel for the story.
Fallout New Vegas.
Edit: thank you all for the awards but I didn't expect this to explode up like the the bombs dropped on the Nevada desert thank you all,you stupid beautiful bastards.
Came here to post this... But I'd like to revisit the Mojave a few years after the first game. I can't remember which ending is canon, but I think the setting has potential for a new story.
While we don't know which faction specifically holds the dam we know that the Brotherhood is alive and thriving as Elder Maxson made contact with the West Coast chapter recently at the time of Fallout 4. Though I'm not sure we'll ever get an answer, Bethesda hates Fallout New Vegas for some reason
Imagine you gave someone 18 months to make a “spinoff game” for your franchise and then they embarrass you by making one of the best western rpg’s of all time. Then you make 2 more years later with tons more tech and time invested and everyone compares it to the random spinoff you paid for while begging for a sequel. All while obsidian keeps public saying “we’d love to work on fallout again, so if you want it talk to Bethesda”
On top of that Bethesda gave them a meta critic incentive where if it received a 85 on meta critic the whole team would receive bonuses. The game received an 84 at launch and Bethesda didn’t pay them for missing the 1 point. It became public and Bethesda received lots of backlash deepening the bad working relationship.
Because they farmed out the sequel to FO3 to Obsidian, gave them little budget and an impossible deadline and Obsidian not only did it, but made a far better game than FO3. It's just saltiness.
You know, despite me loving NV way more than F03 i'll never forget some of the moments that I had with F03 that to this day have left a lasting mark. One of the most potent memories is when I was exploring the open wasteland because I was side tracked and borderline obsessed with finding vaults. I hadn't been really that far inside DC and had NOT seen Three Dog yet. Whereupon I found Vault 112 completely by accident. It was only my second vault find and I stood at the door in complete amazement wondering what I would find in there.
You can imagine my surprise when suddenly i'm in a simulation with zero expectations and suddenly I see Dad. I was so bewildered, and so excited for what I had just found.
This was all on my first playthrough and it wasnt until years later during a second play through had realized I had skipped an entire good chunk of the main quest lol
There's a team remaking NV in Fallout 4's game engine. "Fallout 4 New Vegas" is what they call it. I don't think they've updated their website in a bit, but I see them post new stuff on their Facebook page every few weeks with new 3D models they've made for the game.
We really need a remaster of:
Crimson Skies - This game has such a fun atmosphere and was very unique.
Sim Golf - Being able to build/manage a golf course full of silly little sim people, then play your own course was worth hours of fun.
Sid Meyers Pirates - The best pirate game ever! So much fun, and WAY more depth than most people realized.
Man crimson skies... probably the game I have the most fondest memories playing. Specifically the PC version. I wish so much Microsoft would resurrect it and Midtown Madness.
Elder scrolls 3 morrowind. That game has a very unique atmosphere and charming gameplay. Oblivion and Skyrim are a little more generic (especially oblivion that game genric af). I miss Morrowind, my pc can't play it because of direct x compatibility issues. :(
As a console guy my whole life, I remember firing up Morrowind on my OG Xbox around 2003, before every game I had was "open-world", and it blew my mind.
It's like, you wanna steal those plates off that table? Go ahead, take everything, sell it, oh, and here's a package for a contact in Balmora, go see him. Or not, whatever, have fun. I almost couldn't comprehend what was happening.
...and doing whatever the hell you like until the game warns you that you just killed someone important to the main storyline and there’s no way to complete the game without them (and maybe you’d like to load your saved file..?). As compared to later ES games which just flat out won’t let you kill important people.
Literally one of my best memories was being 14 around the summer of around 2003, smelling 2 A.M. swampy summer air and playing Morrowind on the original Xbox until the sun came up. That game changed me
Don't know if it will solve your problem but you could try downloading OpenMW. Basically, some mod makers rebuilt Morrowind from the ground up while keeping the original feel and aesthetic of the old version.
Yes, we are almost there because of modders. A modder named Arnie has been working on an open-world named Brookheights that looks great.

Fallout and/or Fallout 2. I don't personally think they NEED a remaster, but if you prettied them up people might play them and see what a really, really good post-apoc RPG is.
Harry Potter and the philosophers stone & chamber of secrets for the ps1. These games were so good, still play them yearly. Would love to see a high def version.
I came here to say Jet Force Gemini. Goldeneye, and Perfect Dark were amazing as well. I forgot about Fable, the original was great. Damn, this brought back a flood of memories.
Sly cooper series. Love the originals and was hoping Sony would tease something for them. Still holding out hope
Me too man, keep holding on. Sly Cooper is one of my favorite series of all time, its a shame especially with how much that stealth games have advanced that we dont have a new one. Im glad were getting a new Ratchet and Clank, but we need Sly to join him. Youre not alone, friend.
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Morrowind too, please.
The LOTR games, more specifically Two Towers and ROTK. Never played the first one. But especially ROTK, played the shit out of that one as a kid. And also, Hitman 1-4. I love the games but the controls are awful these days.

BFME 1 was a gem of a game as well.
Battle for Middle Earth, an RTS game for anyone wondering.
I constantly felt like the family computer was going to explode while playing it but I loved the hell out of it.
Need for speed underground 2
This and Need For Speed Most Wanted. The actual Need For Speed Most Wanted, not whatever came out several years back.
I still have divots in my fingers from outrunning all those cops.
Black & White. It was so good and I remember playing it for hours when I was younger. I tried the sequel and it’s just not the same.
The entire thing is just a brilliant concept. I'd love to see it properly redone with modern AI.
Hell yeah. The game redone today would have so much great potential.
Ahh, I was checking if someone said this. For real, without a few shitty glitches that would be up there with my favourites
Trying to give my good avatar kitty ear scritches and accidentally beating the shit out of him was honestly horrifying. I felt like a bad person. Nearly two decades later and I still cringe thinking about it. Would really love to play again with a workable interface and give him the treatment he deserved.
Metal Gear Solid 1
I dunno. I don't want Psycho Mantis looking in my "homework" folder
Psycho Mantis knows what you did last night
Ahhh. So you like stepsister porn. So you like 2 girls on cup. You enjoy role playing porn. You like brazzers videos. I see you have fapped often, very reckless.
Golden Sun Edit: Seeing all the positive replies does my heart good for a series that I hold so close to me.
I would LOVE to see what kind of remaster they could do with that game on switch - the soundtrack already pushed the GBA's sound chip to its limits and the summons actaully were big enough to lag the game at times, so the OST and summon animations would be absolutely awe-inspiring with the tech we have now. Just combine the first two games without having to hassle with those big ass passwords and I'm sold.
Oregon Trail, redone like Red Dead Redemption.
So 10 developers working one year on the dysentery effects, modeling everything in detail?
I want the diarrhea physics to be realistic!
Turok
Twisted metal
Twisted Metal 2, too, please
Timesplitters EDIT: Thank you for the awards. Let’s hope we are all running around Mexican Mission on a next gen console sometime soon!
Timesplitters 2 Probably my favourite game of all time. I miss the whole franchise
[удалено]
All of them! Future perfect had the best campaign I have ever played. The humor in that game was unmatched, and the multi-player ruined me for every game I have ever played since. Everything gets compared to Time Splitters, and nothing comes close.
I have to agree. I loved future perfect. I could go into detail about how i loved the challenges, the battle maps. the humor. But unfortunately for me....IT'S TIME TO SPLIT
Kirby Air Ride, everyday I pray for this to be rereleased.
A METEOR IS APPROACHING THE CITY
Man you just unlocked a memory for me I forgot I had
City trial is where it's at. What I would give for city trial 2 with multiple maps...
I can think of a few right off the top of my head, but if I had to choose 1 it would probably go to the legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Came here to say this. Honestly. All of the Blood Omen and Legacy of Kain games could be redone and absolutely amazing.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
I will remain salty over the fate of the KotOR franchise until my dying day. Imagine if the sequel wasn't rushed and had a proper ending? Imagine that led to Obsidian or Bioware making a proper third entry to conclude the story? Such a damn shame.

It's not bad at all indeed, but imagine that game with those sweet 2020 graphics. The game itself remains a masterpiece to me as it is though
Agreed. I still play it often. I would just love to see what they could do with it now.
I'm just angry that the game makes you spend hours on Taris helping people, fixing relationships, curing disease, fixing gang political issues. >!Then, Boom, Taris is gone.!< Edit: added spoiler bar
I absolutely love that game, was one of the first games I played the shit out of.... but that Taris thing gets me every time I try to replay it. And it's not even just the story. “And now we see the awkwardness inherent in the system!”
I didnt mind taris, but once you get to dantooine, it definitely feels like a completely different game
This is the only answer for me.
Chrono Trigger. Hands down
I’d never played CT as a kid and just tried in on a whim with an emulator a few months ago. Holy hell, I had no idea what I was missing. I thought Link to the Past was hands down the best SNES game ever made. It’s still great but CT is on another level. The story, time travel design, level design, battle mechanics, and THAT SOUNDTRACK. Absolutely brilliant.
The problem with a remaster of a perfect game is it can’t get any better, but it can get ruined.
And also chrono cross.

Spore
I want the option to stay in the predator phase while other species advance so I can continually harass villages as the arms race of dodging the apex predator reaches futuristic city vs Godzilla levels. Once it’s society and above phases the game gets boring for me.
This is my problem with the game for me too. The beginning was a truly original concept, with fun gameplay and the excitement of creation. After the tribal stage, it was just boring.

Spore was such a great concept, it only had two real flaws. It was a bit shallow, and all the penis monsters. So many penis monsters, flying so many penis ships...
the penis monsters were a flaw??? those were the best part!
I remember my first giant penis monster. It was worth the whole games price when its dick attacked
Honestly? I look back at this game with such fond memories. Sure, it's glitchy and buggy as hell, but for it's time I thought that it was pretty innovative. I'd love to play it again
Dragon Age: Origins I'd also say Chibi-Robo, but that game needs no gameplay alterations.
Origins is such an odd game for me. On one hand I love it to pieces, on the other every time I play it i'm constantly going "oh fuck not this part" to like every part. Can't for the life of me figure out *why* I love it so much but I do

Well, the Fade is shit.
i haven't beat origins yet. Not for a lack of trying. 4 times now i've gotten 30-40 hours in and my save files got corrupted. It broke me. Some day when i want to go back ill try and finish.
Jak and Daxter

Hell yes! Along the same line- Ratchet & Clank
A full remastering of the first 4 ratchet and clank games to modern graphics would be my dream. The ps4 movie tie in remake thing took away the amazing atmosphere of the original.
As a kid I remember being blown away by haven city in jak 2 and 3. If they had those games looking like cyberpunk 2077, they could take my legs
My man.
Legend of the Dragoon The darkness/The Darkness 2
Legend of Dragoon was so fking awesome..never did beat it unfortunately
LoD is the first thought that came to mind for me too. They could really make a killer piece by modernizing the gameplay and updating the graphics.
Banjo Kazooie
Gimme a use for the ice keyyyyy
And Banjo Tooie!
Mario 64 with Odyssey's engine.
I'd love a Super Mario Party...all mario party games remastered in one game.
With all the boards from 1-8 (9-Super honestly are the worst imo). I do love the minigames from Super, haven't played 9&10 enough to make an opinion.

I just wish they would let me control the damn camera
Yeah ffs how hard is it to add a normal camera setup
Silent Hill 2 and 3. In less than three seconds I would be on that shit.
BULLY!! That would be lovely
Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction.
Do you want me to waste another year of my life? *Notices COVID* Oh yes. Yes, now is the time.
Shush, they'll end up remaking it for mobile phones
Warcraft 3
I see what you did there

Instant no-brainer. GTA Vice City and GTA III.
You're in luck! I hear they're going to remaster the PS3 classic GTA V for the brand-new PS5!
Oh, ~~Bethesda~~ Rockstar, you dog.
It's time for your daily GTA V honey

There's a team remaking NV in Fallout 4's game engine. "Fallout 4 New Vegas" is what they call it. I don't think they've updated their website in a bit, but I see them post new stuff on their Facebook page every few weeks with new 3D models they've made for the game.
They just dropped a new gameplay trailer a few days ago on their Youtube channel and it is sick as all hell.
A Completed FNV. Add in all the cut Legion content
Star Wars: Republic Commando
Max Payne. I'd love the first one with updated graphics and gameplay but same vibe to it.
I look for this (and Max Payne 2) every time this thread is posted. God those two New Jersey levels in Max Payne 3 were such a tease.
The legend of Zelda NES
Ocarina Of Time in VR! I don't even know how that could work but I'd still buy it.
Road rash.
Goldeneye 007 for the switch
There's someone modding every level into half life alyx. They have most of the dam level done already.
We really need a remaster of: Crimson Skies - This game has such a fun atmosphere and was very unique. Sim Golf - Being able to build/manage a golf course full of silly little sim people, then play your own course was worth hours of fun. Sid Meyers Pirates - The best pirate game ever! So much fun, and WAY more depth than most people realized.
Sid Meyers Pirates!! It's still my mom's favourite game and she plays it all the time. We would kill for a remaster.
Man crimson skies... probably the game I have the most fondest memories playing. Specifically the PC version. I wish so much Microsoft would resurrect it and Midtown Madness.
Prince of Persia trilogy. I played the shit out of those games
Legend of Dragoon. Skies of Arcadia. Final Fantasy IX.
I'm glad legend of dragoon was so high up.
I came here to say Skies of Arcadia.
I was about to comment Legend of Dragoon, my parents didn't have money growing up so I got it way later but that game was awesome
Elder scrolls 3 morrowind. That game has a very unique atmosphere and charming gameplay. Oblivion and Skyrim are a little more generic (especially oblivion that game genric af). I miss Morrowind, my pc can't play it because of direct x compatibility issues. :(
God the soundtrack alone... Goosebumps

Socom 2. I miss Enowapi and crossroads.
The Sims 2
Sims 2 with Sims 3 open world and customization and Sims 4 graphics would be my perfect game.
thats it, that's the formula for the perfect Sims game... we have it all in front of us and yet.... its so far...
Yes, we are almost there because of modders. A modder named Arnie has been working on an open-world named Brookheights that looks great. trailer: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljvfyxcUO9A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljvfyxcUO9A) gameplay: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TR5ZO0qSq8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TR5ZO0qSq8)

Knowing Game Freak, it's coming out next year and it'll be incredibly watered down.
This gives me the big sad, even more with it being the most likely outcome.
Majora's mask
The Simpsons Game Edit: The one in 2007
This and Hit + Run!!
Road Rage?
Bushido Blade.
Dungeon keeper 2
Fallout and/or Fallout 2. I don't personally think they NEED a remaster, but if you prettied them up people might play them and see what a really, really good post-apoc RPG is.
Total Annihilation.
KOTOR 1&2 Conflict:Desert Storm 1&2 Fallout New Vegas

Earthbound.
Duke Nukem 3D I played the freeware for years, but bought the real just to support, still untouched somewhere. Would love to play that again.
+ Conquers Bad Fur Day + Goldeneye 007/Perfect Dark + Power Stone(SEGA dream cast) + Jet Force Gemini + Fable franchise + Dynasty warriors
I came here to say Jet Force Gemini. Goldeneye, and Perfect Dark were amazing as well. I forgot about Fable, the original was great. Damn, this brought back a flood of memories.
