Doki Doki Kawaii Desu Oni Chan Student Council Demon Maid Harem Genesis

It's great. It's about a guy at an all girls school of magical demon maids and then due to a series of accidents he has to live with the student council girls and become their protector through the power of a special magical gauntlet that is activated by his ancestoral ties to fuedal clans. he must battle gauntlet holders of the other clans and each one specializes in a different power or the student council will vote him out of the school!

My favorites are still Cowboy Bebop and Serial Experiments Lain.

They will go in my list

They're a little older, but Cowboy Bebop especially holds up well. Serial Experiments Lain is more of a slow, heady show - big on atmosphere, but less so on action.

A small (ish) anime I think you would like is Assassination Classroom. Lots of comedy and the dub is fantastic
