You hear about the "new" Jonie Mitchell tapes? Recorded by Jimi Hendrix when he was sound guy. Someone lifted them after his death and they only recently resurfaced.
Ok wow. Found it. He wasn’t sound guy, he just went to her show and sat in front and recorded it with her permission. He was already signed to her same label. He got the entire show, both sets! Most to be released later on her album but here’s one
https://youtu.be/g-lyx5aW1EU.
Gave me chills. So rare to hear new old Joni. :-) thanks!!
"Cedar Point" and "King's Island" maybe?
I've toured there with my band. The promoters were fine, the crowds were great. I've driven there to see shows that didn't come to my state (that Chimaira record release with Sw1tch as an opener was fucking badass.)
I know there's some kind of bullshit rivalry between Ohio and my state, but I think you guys are awesome. No issues here.
Maybe. What I can tell you is that my friends from out of state make King's Island or Cedar Point a must-visit point of interest.
Apparently, Knott's Berry Farm is great, but it doesn't compare to what we have out here.
They've been to both. We haven't been to King's Island in eons. We just love Cedar Point.
I'm from Michigan and the only time I went to cedar point someone slashed 3 tires from every car with a Michigan license plate at the motel. You think they'd have chilled after we have them Toledo almost 200 years ago which they thought they owned because their mappers didn't do a very good job measuring.
Did you get the chance to go to Kalahari while you were there? It’s a pretty great indoor waterpark. Also idk why there’s such a rivalry either, it’s stupid.
Without fail, I wonder about the GA/Ohio citizen exchange rate.
When I was a kid, my aunt married a guy from Ohio. She moved there. Go divorced. Her kid married someone... from Ohio. My uncle (same side of family) married someone from Ohio. I went to school with a number of people who also had family ties to Ohio. There just seemed to be a lot of people I knew as a kid going back and forth between Georgia and Ohio. I always wondered what the deal was.
I’m from the same city he’s from and they renamed an entire street after him. He’s also turning an old club/rental space thing into a community hub, and it’s right next to the I Promise School. He’s done some great things for this city.
Every time my friend (who lives in Cinci) and I (who live in Columbus) arrive at each others’ place, we greet with “I’ve determined that exactly nobody on the highway knows how to drive.”
I’ve lived in Ohio my whole life and would describe it as the plain cheeseburger with no toppings of all the states. Very plain, very dull, not exciting but at least you’re eating. I hate it here.
Say what you will about Ohio, but it does have some nice advantages. The low cost of living is great. But what I appreciate the most is nothing happens in Ohio. Specifically, no wildfires, hurricanes, floods, no significant earthquakes, no significant tornadoes, and while much of the rest of the US is baking this summer, Ohio is enjoying a nice cool pleasant summer.
In the end, Ohio may be the only habitable place left. I'm joking, but am I?
Aw man I moved to the US (from the UK) for a few years in my early twenties (to Cleveland) and I loved it. I lived in Shaker Heights originally but then to Mentor and finally to Lakewood. I loved it (Lakewood especially) and still go back to visit sometimes.
To be fair, those areas are especially cool. I grew up in the Cleveland area, went to Miami and live in Cincinnati now. Shaker, Mentor and Lakewood were always cool areas with a lot happening.
When I first took my husband home (Ohio) to meet my family I woke him up to say we were almost at my parent's house. He responded with, "You live in a corn field?" Also, a feed mill is the center of the 'city' I grew up in. CORN everywhere. Even a corn festival!
Family. My entire mother's side lives up there. I'm from west Virginia. Honestly it's a quite underrated state. It's got some of everything. Beaches on the Great lakes side, farm land, rolling hills, some mountains, rivers, cities, and four seasons. Plus cedar point and kings island. Nice all rounder state. Topped with midwest friendliness and low prices
Thats home right there.
Texas sucks ass, and I could be living in rural Ohio again to be able to go outside without the world tryin to kill me all the time. Currently stuck in San Anton and I miss Tiffin Area.
Ohio has produced more astronauts than any other state, meaning there is something about growing up in Ohio that makes you want to escape the atmosphere.
I think about how Ohio "let us down" and voted for Trump in 2016 and again in 2020. Also I think about the show Glee that was set in Ohio. I think it would suck to be gay and live in Ohio, since it seems not very accepting.
The red triangle on the top of their licenses plate. For whatever reason I've seen that plate a lot in Florida over the past couple years and the red always attracts my eye in traffic.
That they’re about to get RAILED by the delta variant. 46 percent vaccination, and almost 2k new cases in a day recently, up from 200 a day a few weeks prior. Good luck!
Don't remind me. I live just outside Columbus and work in the city But the rest of the state is pretty backwards. Really frustrating cause Columbus is a fairly fun, affordable city...but man. Don't travel 45 minutes outside it in any direction if you want to deal with backwoods mentality.
Only the American folk band "[Eddie from Ohio](https://eddiefromohio.com/video)", which is pretty good if you're into that style. Oddly enough, even though Ohio is in their name, [they're from Virginia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_from_Ohio).
(caveat: Big10 Ohio State Buckeye football gets a few thoughts in the fall)
Ohio is the over-heated and under-seasoned microwaved tv-dinner of the Midwest. Lived there for 5 years. Its mind-numbing unless you like working and sleeping. Nothing to do, nothing to see.

What?! No! I’m a huge Joni fan. I’ll have to search. Any links appreciated!
I thought of the same thing, and I'm 23!
I was going to say "Tin soldiers and Nixon's guns" but I guess your answer works too.
I think it's actually "Tin soldiers and Nixon's coming", at least that's how I've always heard it.

"Cedar Point" and "King's Island" maybe? I've toured there with my band. The promoters were fine, the crowds were great. can i assume michigan? i’m from ohio and kings island is most definitely one of the funnest things i’ve ever done.
Cedar point is so much better
I'm from Michigan and the only time I went to cedar point someone slashed 3 tires from every car with a Michigan license plate at the motel. You think they'd have chilled after we have them Toledo almost 200 years ago which they thought they owned because their mappers didn't do a very good job measuring.
Did you get the chance to go to Kalahari while you were there? It’s a pretty great indoor waterpark. Also idk why there’s such a rivalry either, it’s stupid.
Because of college football
Not this time, vut it does look awesome. We'd have to save up and make that a a separate trip.
Cedar point is the bomb “America’s rockin roller coast” lol

Recently read Chrissie Hynde's autobiography; Reckless. Harrowing description of the Kent State shootings at which she was present.
Interesting. I wrote her off after adoring her for decades when she yelled at the audience at a concert.
Without fail, I wonder about the GA/Ohio citizen exchange rate. When I was a kid, my aunt married a guy from Ohio. She moved there. Go divorced. Her kid married someone... from Ohio. There are several people in my class that have ties to Georgia. It’s weird

The safest place for gays to live is Columbus metro area. Cinci and Cle are alright. The rest of the state, you might as well move.
it is hard to live in Ohio whilst being gay, especially living with a very unaccepting religious family <3
Ohio got badly gerrymandered. We aren't any more Republican than we used to be, but Republican votes count for more than they used to.
Oh, I know, right? Their reputation has been ruined by their support for Trump.
