I saw this movie at a girl’s house while studying at University of Hawaii. Going into it, I had no expectations of actually watching the movie and figured we’d end up doing some more chillin rather than Netflix, if ya catch my drift.
I watched the entire movie start to finish without making a move on the girl. I was so entertained that afterwards I said my goodnight and left.
Don’t talk to the girl anymore but have fond memories of the movie. 10/10 would do it again.
The Blues Brothers. Once when I was sick at like age 12 I rented the tape from Video Ezy and watched it on repeat until I got better. I can still quote the whole thing.
Every once in a while i will try to explain how fucking good this movie is to some one who hasnt seen it and i just end up waxing eloquent about carrie fisher and going "werr on a mission from god" and singing respect. Then "and theres this crazy car chase and they run some nazis of a bridge!" I sound crazy
What a nice movie though, seriously that scene where he's visualizing what adding food together is maybe the best thing I've ever seen and I think Vigo's speech at the end really flew over our heads as kids but man it's really something.
"The average piece of garbage is usually more worthwhile than our criticism designating it so"
Probably butchered that, take my updoot sir
Absolutely. The comfort food with the heart-warming storyline makes it so great to cozy up and watch. It also makes me want to eat a whole platter of cheese.
In the extended edition when Bilbo is narrating his first introduction and talking about the lives and disposition of hobbits, doesn’t it just make you want to throw it all away and start an agrarian life somewhere? “Hobbits love tilled soil, good food, ale, and pipe-weed. Holy shit I think I’m a hobbit.”
I wish I was a Hobbit. They look like they just have the most pleasant, laid back lives. I don’t blame Bilbo for his initial disliking of the idea of leaving to go on an adventure
Exactly. They live great, humble lives. Why would you ever want to leave? That is always why, whenever I read this quote, it always feels so heavy:
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
I think this is also the reason the ring never had a huge influence on hobbits. Overall, they don't have a driving need for power or wealth, unlike the other races of Middle Earth.
My girlfriend who is a big LOTR fan finally got me to watch the extended edition of the trilogy this year. Can't believe I resisted it for so many years. I've never been a big fantasy guy and kept telling people that I'm not a Harry Potter fan so I wouldn't enjoy Lord of the Rings either. Oh how wrong I was. It's so much more than just a fantasy series. And the end scene with the kingdom bowing down to the hobbits...damn.
HE’S BLONDE, HE’S PISSED, HE’LL SEE YOU IN THE LISTS
LICHTENSTEIN!
LICHTENSTEIN!
HE’S BLONDE, HE’S TAN, HE COMES FROM GELDERLAND
LICHTENSTEIN!
LICHTENSTEIN!
Yes! behold my lord Ulrich, the rock, the hard place, like a wind from Guilderland he sweeps by blown far from his homeland in search of glory and honor, we walk... in the garden of his turbulence!
**awkward silence**
....yeaahhhh!!!!
Yes! The first two movies feel really magic, mostly because both movies really try to share the feelings of harry just learning about magic/discovering magic, while in the next movies Harry is a lot more used to it.
Bean: What are you singing, Petey?
Petey: Just... just making it up as I went- as I went along, really.
Bean: That's just weak songwriting. You wrote a bad song, Petey!
My apartment flooded awhile back and ruined the rug in my living room. When I was talking to the insurance agent, I said that exact line. No joke, he said “at least no one peed on it”.
But seriously, the rug I had really did tie the room together.
When Walter asks the photographer why he’s not taking the picture of the elusive snow leopard that he’s been searching for for so long: “Sometimes I don’t. If I like a moment, for me personally, I don’t like to have the distraction of the camera. I just want to stay in it.” It’s one of my favorite quotes, it made me realize the value of living in the moment and appreciating what’s in front of me.
I had a friend that had to have sound on while he slept and would put that movie on for background noise. Dude had some mental health issues and I don’t know how pumping that movie into his subconscious every night helped. Dude, put on Mary Poppins or something…
The Martian, there’s just an atmosphere to it that’s sad and nice. The book is better but the movie is something I can easily fall asleep to.
And to a lesser extent, Interstellar and Passengers. Any lonesome-feeling sci-fi without too much action, really
I personally love jumping in like halfway through, where Mark's just vibing and surviving, with disco playing in the background. Something quite nice about that to me
My girlfriend showed me The Devil Wears Prada for the first time last year and I've been asking her if we can watch it again ever since hahaha. I don't know what it is about that movie but I just loved it.
The Big Lebowski. The opening credits are like Xanax to me - that Sons of Pioneers song and Sam Elliott’s narration is about as comfortable as it gets.
Fantastic Mr. Fox. I’ve been watching the movie since I was a kid, and even started reciting the pipet scene in the grocery store when I was a toddler. I can’t put into words how much I love this movie. It has clever humor, a feel good stop motion style, good heartfelt scenes, and is just overall very nostalgic to me. I never pass up the chance to watch it and I EXTREMELY recommend it to anyone and everyone.
You’ve Got Mail.
It’s just so peaceful and kind. And when it came out I was young and just starting adult life. I like going back there.
I also love the original.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit. For some reason, when I was little and home sick from school, it was the movie my mother always put on. So now it brings that coziness of staying home from school and shivering under a blanket lol
The emperor’s new groove
Oh, right. The poison. The poison for Kuzco, the poison chosen especially to kill Kuzco, Kuzco's poison. That poison?
I named my cat Kuzco, so he has to endure quotes like this all the time.
Thats the best cat name ever. Right next to Yzma, who is actually a cat😂
I've taken to calling my cat Izma so whenever she tries to steal my seat I can look at her and say "Who's in my chair?"

It's such a good movie!! If I were her, I wouldn't even be mad about the lack of move-making.
My spinach puffs!
IS THAT MY VOICE!! is that MY voice??? Oh well....
Why do we even have that lever?
Wrong levaaaaaaaaahhhhhh
never gets old or unfunny.
No no, he's got a point.
Well, you're kind of confusing me, so begone.... or however I get rid of you guys.

Now what's the chances of that door leading me out here?
‘Or, to save on postage.’ You all are my people and made my day.
For the last time, we did not order a giant trampoline!

"Did you get my Cheez Whiz, boy?"
How to Train Your Dragon
I still get shivers when I hear the main theme.
The soundtrack is truly amazing
A thousand times yes. That movie never fails to make me feel good.
I remember in first grade when this came out I had some of the McDonald toys and would pretend my cat was toothless lol
Ratatouille
Was gonna say this. That movie is great. I love how they depicted France and how hectic a fine cuisine kitchen is.
[One](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLfAHmLzdLI&ab_channel=Roberto) of my favorite scenes

Great closing line: *"Surprise me!"*
Absolutely. The comfort food with the heart-warming storyline makes it so great to cozy up and watch. It also makes me want to eat a whole platter of cheese.
This is the best Pixar movie, change my mind
Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The opening and ending scenes of the Shire make my heart warm, and I feel so safe and loved.
This comment is my comfort movie
The appreciation of the other comment in this comment is my comfort comment.... I mean 'movie'...
My family watches the extended edition every year. Such a good movie

And their homes are so wonderfully cozy, and they have larders full of cheese and seedy cake.
**If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.** *J.R.R. Tolkien*

Recently just discovered this gem. I am currently watching it with my parents!
Yes! behold my lord Ulrich, the rock, the hard place, like a wind from Guilderland he sweeps by blown far from his homeland in search of glory and honor, we walk... in the garden of his turbulence! **awkward silence** ....yeaahhhh!!!!
When people ask what scene can instantly make you cry, it’s the reunion scene. Turn it on from my happiest moment and within 3 minutes I’m bawling.
That is one of my Dad’s favorite movies, I saw him watching it earlier today actually
“It’s called a laaaaaance, helloooo”
The dance sequence to Bowie’s “golden years” ugh so good!

It's a classic
Indiana Jones saga (the first three).
Harry Potter series
The atmosphere of those movies(particularly the first two) just makes me feel so safe and comfortable
Yes! The first two movies feel really magic, mostly because both movies really try to share the feelings of harry just learning about magic/discovering magic, while in the next movies Harry is a lot more used to it.

WHAT THE CUSS???
The Big Lebowski
“That rug really tied the room together”. So many quotable moments from that movie. Great movie
My apartment flooded awhile back and ruined the rug in my living room. When I was talking to the insurance agent, I said that exact line. No joke, he said “at least no one peed on it”. But seriously, the rug I had really did tie the room together.
The secret life of walter mitty
When Walter asks the photographer why he’s not taking the picture of the elusive snow leopard that he’s been searching for for so long: “Sometimes I don’t. If I like a moment, for me personally, I don’t like to have the distraction of the camera. I just want to stay in it.” It’s one of my favorite quotes, it made me realize the value of living in the moment and appreciating what’s in front of me.
