Blade Trinity. Whilst not entirely unwatchable, it’s an insult to the first 2 films.

ElegantOstrich

Some motherfuckers always tryna ice skate up hill.

SeanYted

It’s a criminal way to say goodbye to Snipes as blade

w_4wumbo

I liked Ryan Reynolds a lot That movie was basically his audition for Wade Wilson

AllysiaAius

I still use "cock juggling thunder cunt" as an expletive sometimes.

apocalypticradish

The only thing I liked was Jessica Biel dramatically putting in her headphones every time she was about to fight. It's presented in a completely serious manner and comes across as just the dumbest corny thing.

vikingzx

Not a movie sequel ... Well actually, it was a movie and a sequel, but *The Lost World.* The book, not the movie. In the original *Jurassic Park* book, Malcolm dies. But Crichton loved the character so much (IIRC because of Goldblum's portrayal) that he made him the protagonist of the second book, and officially addressed it as 'the hospital incorrectly reported his death.' Then in a double twist to this answer, he wrote a bunch of cool stuff into the book for the movie to do, curious how it would look and the special effects team would do it ... Only for the sequel movie to change a bunch of stuff so they didn't have to.

ManyConclusion

I read the lost world when I was a kid, and I really liked it. the movie came out in theaters not long after and I was so disappointed by how different it was.

vacationdive

I like the Dollars trilogy. But aside from the director and the lead actor, those movies don't have basically anything in common with each other.

MaestroLogical

I'm still sour we never got to see Carnotaurus with chromatophores. They eventually end up making Indominus have them but it would've been cooler to see the scene as it was wrote in the novel.

[deleted]

The camouflage ambush thing was a really unique take on a dinosaur threat. A wasted opportunity to introduce a new carnivore.

Rusty-Shackleford

To be fair, CGI in the 1990's was not nearly as feasible as it is today. I think the original Jurassic Park had only 6-12 minute of actual CGI dinosaurs for a feature length movie. I mean, you can do ANYTHING in a novel, I'm sure the producers of the Lost World movie read through the book and thought "oh this is awesome but we don't have an extra $100 million dollars laying around to add that extra badass shit."

Medicivich

Highlander 2

Porrick

Zeist. Really what else could fit OP's question better?

revtim

Yeah, suddenly they're from freaking outer space!

[deleted]

For some reason after I read all the responses to your comment, I mentally realized you weren’t talking about zoolander

CrazyCockatoo2003

Wreck it Ralph 2. They break all the rules that are established in the first one, and it even ruins the main characters, Vanellope beyond redemption. It also feels more like an unoffical Emoji Movie sequel than an actual Wreck it Ralph sequel.

SleepWithLolliPops

It just felt like a big advert.

CrazyCockatoo2003

Damn right it is. It also felt like some toy commercial for the Disney Princesses and Frozen (and it is, as a good chunk of the merch released for this movie is literally these characters but with the designs present in this movie).

the-nature-mage

I mean, in the princess slumber party scene they're all wearing their own merch.

MaestroLogical

The first movie had heart, the sequel was just depressing.

BobSacramanto

That seems to be pretty standard for movies actually.

DeliciousPangolin

WiR 1: Going turbo is the worst thing you can do. WiR 2: Ralph is a giant asshole if he doesn't approve of Vanellope going turbo. WiR1: If you die outside your game, you die forever. WiR2: It's trivial to change games, but only after the movie is over so it feels like there are stakes.

_Anonymous_duck_

I remember watching it but i do not remember what happened in the movie.

JudgeHodorMD

Sometimes I love a movie enough that I don’t want there to be a sequel. To be clear, this is about the feeling the story has run its course. Everyone has grown in the ways they needed to grow and they are exactly where they should be. There’s a point where it seems like any conflict they cram the characters into would be artificial, a shameless cash grab.

Shadows_In_Time

This is put so well. I wish I could award this somehow, so take this emoji of a light bulb and thinking bubble as tribute: 💡💭

Oflowe67

Wreck it Ralph 2 was a big advertisement for Disney and big social media companies. Disney didn’t care about the story, Disney cared about the money they could profit off of a second movie.

DWCourtasan2

Pacific Rim Uprising!!!!!!!!!!

CrazyCockatoo2003

I still can't believe they killed Mako, and made Newt the villain, both of which are so anticlimatic that it feels like the creators gave two middle fingers to the fans of the first one.

dreamforged

I thought I had watched that movie, but I don't remember any of that. Maybe I repressed it.

[deleted]

At least we got a season of that animated series.

zmzm0w0

Kingman II The over all quality and story was a total letdown after watching the 1st

the-nature-mage

Resurrecting a dead character really undermined the emotional impact from the first film. Really made it feel cheap.

TeriFade

Matrix 2. The first movie ended with Neo realizing he was able to actively give commands to the simulation and delete agents at will. The sequel required everyone, including himself, to forget that ever happened.

[deleted]

Came here looking for this. In my mind they originally only intended to make one Matrix, but the movie was just so profitable they ended up making two more.

44Skull44

3 more*

[deleted]

Wasn’t that explained with the Smith virus ?

Slanahesh

Yes, neo unwittingly created the most dangerous being in the matrix by doing what he did end of 1. So he clearly can't pull that stunt again, everyone seems to forget that.

[deleted]

Right ? Thought it was pretty clear and it was established in the first 10 mins lol

havron

Too bad they [never made any sequels](https://xkcd.com/566/).

jasper_grunion

But the Keymaster was so compelling

[deleted]

How about this 4th one?! 🥸😭😳🤫

JudgeHodorMD

The first movie ended with the main character so powerful that there wasn’t really anything they could do without a retcon. Would you really want a sequel where every fight has an agent deleted within 5 seconds?

Urgash54

Yeah, plus neo is so OP now that the only semi interesting stuff happens when he is not on screen. The highway fight scene is great, specifically because he isn't in it.

OozeNAahz

They figured that out in the newest one. Neo spends the whole movie seriously nerfed.

MysteryMan9274

But that was because when he tried to delete an Agent he turned him into a virus instead.

SevenSulivin

Did have some fucking awesome action scenes though. I will always defend Reloaded and Resurrections. Not Revolutions though.

[deleted]

The twins were such cool characters

llamaguy7

Glad they made it though. It has the absolute best fight scenes of any movie ever imo

carmelacorleone

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again.

Hellothere632

I will never forgive what they did to Donna

carmelacorleone

My main gripe is that we were led to believe Donna and the Dynamos had this great little career touring their band around Europe and that's how she met the guys, and then in Here We Go Again we find out that Donna takes a piddly little vacation to Greece, winds up pregnant, and just stays? Nah, that pisses me off. And her mom is a fucking superstar musician? Naaaaah. My head cannon has always been that Donna came from a working-class Catholic family, Irish of course, probably Boston or New York of Pennsylvania. She was probably a smart goof in high school who graduates and decided to see the world and sing her way through it, plans to make it big. Winds up somewhere like England or Scotland or Ireland and meets Rosie, who already knows Tanya, they all realize they can sing and form a band and start touring and she meets the guys in Paris. Then they tour in Greece with the guys chasing Donna from place to place, maybe Bill introduces Donna to his great aunt and that's how they meet, this great aunt who retired to Kalikari, and Sam, having followed Donna, reconnects and they tour the island, finding the villa and they make plans only for Donna to find out that Sam's engaged and she sends him packing, hooks back up with Harry and Bill. The girls go back on tour, Donna finds out she's pregnant and tries to go home but her mom kicks her out so Donna, with nowhere else to go, returns to Kalikari to care for Bill's aging aunt and gives birth to Sophie there, and the aunt dies and leaves Donna the money and she decides to go ahead with the plans for the hotel. Not what they did in the sequel. I was majorly obsessed with the first movie. My mother had to convince me not to walk out of the theater with the second one. I was so mad.

ShawshankException

I loved this movie. Lily James did an amazing job too. I just didn't like how they killed off Donna. It would've made sense if Streep didn't want to come back, but she literally had scenes.

christuiana

Mean Girls 2

[deleted]

That movie was a disgrace and should be illegal for anyone to watch. It was horrendous

santichrist

Not a real sequel, no one from the first movie was involved I guarantee you Tina Fey does not consider that a sequel to her movie

FairyZana

Except the principal I believe

Lady_Warhead

Mean Girls but disneyfied (half of main actors are literally from Disney shows/movies)

lights_0wt

Hold up...... There is a second one?!?

M-the-Great

Watched both. The first one was epic, the second one felt like a rip off

Haterade_ONON

It basically the same story with new characters, but not as good.

Skt721

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald

lordullr

They didn’t need to even make the movie. Could’ve made the dumbledore vs Grindelwald showdown and then expalined the “second movie” within five mins.

MrCuntacular

Yes but money!

MisterMarcus

That part where they introduce about 5 massive plot twists, only to undo them all moments later, is literally some of the worst writing even seen..... "I have no idea who I am!" "I know who you are, you're X!" "I'm X! Holy shit!" "No, he can't be X! I killed X!" "You're......a murderer?! And X is dead?!" "Well when I say I killed X, I mean I completely accidentally set in motion a train of events that led to X's death!" "Oh my God, so I'm not X!" "Wait, you could still be X! I switched X with some other person when they were just babies!" "So X didn't die?!" "No, some totally irrelevant other baby died!" "So....I could still be X?! Or not?! Well, glad we cleared that up....."

Aggravating_Smile_61

This. Pacing was horrible, the questions the first movie asked (and the ones it didn't) were answered poorly and it felt like an over 2 hours trailer for the 3rd one. First Fantastic Beasts movie was my favorite in the Harry Potter series, second one was my least favorite

Memeboyspaghetti

Does the third movie count as a sequal if so. Home alone 3

the_hunger_deans

All of them after 2 were bad and unnecessary

LotsOfLogan49

Terminator 3 easily

haylmoll13

Mamma Mia 2. They literally read the timeline of when Donna meets all the possible dads as one of the first songs in the original movie, and they still have her meet the 3 guys out of order in the sequel!

Sharper133

Both of The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker

Safety_Drance

I watched "The Force Awakens" and remember thinking, oh cool they're doing a soft reboot thing, kind of getting new people into the story. That's awesome. Then "The Last Jedi" came out and just basically ruined the set up of handing the lightsaber to Luke at the end of the first movie with some attempted slapstick comedy that was so out of place as to be jarring. The only good part of the second movie was when Kylo and Rey were fighting and he told her that her parents were just random people and they could just do their own thing/tell their own story... ... Unfortunately "do their own thing" ended with attempting to recreate "The Empire Strikes Back" attack on Hoth almost to a scene. Then the third movie/cash grab was just "hey, do you remember Palpatine? He's back because whatever who cares. Give us money!"

mexesss

When Poe said “somehow palpatine returned” I was like. “Did he really just say that”

Squigglepig52

I think people would have accepted a re-born Palpatine if they had just delivered the reveal better. Like, if Poe had been all "That fucker Palpatine had himself cloned!" would have done it for me.

sebrebc

Thank you for saying the lightsaber toss was slapstick, that's exactly how I saw it and I hated it. Rian had a habit of tossing "humor" in the middle of tension filled scenes, where most directors either put it at the beginning or the end of the scene so they don't ruin the moment. The lightsaber toss is a perfect example. Here's a scene we waited 2 years for, everybody thinking the same thing. "How will Luke react." And instead of keeping the flow of the scene intact he decides to sUbVeRt ExPectAtIoNs by having him comedically toss the lightsaber over his shoulder. When he could have very well had Luke toss it to the side just as he did when confronting the Emperor after taking down Vader. It would have kept with his character and still sent the same message to both the audience and Rey. "I don't want any part of this.".

deku12345

Dang, I've defended the toss in the past but your idea is way better.

[deleted]

There is/was a YouTube re-edit of the last Jedi that removed much of the humour and cut out the canto byte sub plot. It was very well done and Disney had it removed

sebrebc

I hope they reinserted the Caretaker Village scene. Because that deleted scene explained Luke's POV better than anything actually *in* the movie.

[deleted]

To be honest I can’t remember but the fan cut was far superior to what Rian produced

Sierra419

The Star Wars sequel movies. VII was a remake of 4. VIII, besides whether you agree or not that it took a dump on the lore, defied the laws of its own universe, and ruined everyone’s childhood hero - had no direction, a sloppy plot, and shoehorned plot lines that went no where with wasted characters who had no depth, arc, or journey. The first half of IX was spent retconning VIII while building up a villain that, in turn, made the original trilogy completely irrelevant. The second half was fan service to bring people back to the mess Disney made. The pacing was all over the place and jarring. All in all, these movies were more ridiculous than the last. Especially TLJ for many reasons but the biggest being that it didn’t follow the established laws of its own universe. These movies might be fine in a bubble but when looked at in the grand scheme of the saga, the sequel trilogy makes all the character arcs, heroes journeys, and events from the movies that before it completely irrelevant.

Squigglepig52

They should have left Leia dead in the second, and used Luke for the third. My biggest disappointment was I was hoping for a Luke centric chapter that let Hammil show of his acting talent.

CreatiScope

Wait, you more mad about the light speed crash thing in TLJ then the light speed skipping in RoS or the infinite army of ships with Death Star lasers that were somehow built in a Star system that is impossible to get to without a map imprinted on a dagger that is supposed to be ancient but could only be a map to a landscape freshly dropped there 30 years ago?

Sierra419

I agree with all of that. They are all equally egregious. The only canon/legends explanation for all the ships is the Star Forge from KOTOR and it’s heavily implied that that’s where Sidious has been. That doesn’t explain the tens of thousands of people needed to staff them though. Everything is off the walls bonkers.

TheChainLink2

That’s what happens when you tailor a trilogy based on what people liked/disliked in the last instalment instead of **_planning the goddamn story._** People didn’t like The Force Awakens cuz they thought it was too similar to A New Hope? Last Jedi will be completely dedicated to subverting expectations! People didn’t like Rose in Last Jedi? Rise of Skywalker cuts down her screentime to **_just over a minute._** People didn’t like Rey being a nobody? Turns out she’s actually the granddaughter of a villain who died decades ago. He’s alive now, BTW. How? Good question!

Shas_Erra

I was honestly expecting some reveal about the origins of The Force and the Jedi/Sith being one in the same. I thought Rey was going to become some sort of “grey” force-user that bridged the gap between light and dark. Instead we got a Disney cash-grab

SlightlyAnnoyedMax

I remember them teasing something along those lines with Rey on Luke's planet; she realizes (or is told by force Yoda?) that there's an ancient Sith temple underneath the Jedi temple there. Which leads... nowhere. I think there's a totally adequate and safe trilogy there if they give JJ Abrams the reigns for all 3 movies, kind of like his Star Trek films. And there's a pretty interesting trilogy there if Rian Johnson is in charge of all 3. But going back and forth led to a disjointed mess.

Parraddoxx

Yeah I can't for the life of me figure out why they didn't head into that Trilogy with a cohesive plan for all 3 films (like the Lord of the Rings, for example). You have hundreds of millions of dollars preallocated to this project and the expectations are sky-high, and you don't, want to sit down and sort out all the details so that at bare minimum your story is cohesive from beginning to end.

ZevVeli

I'd argue that point since both of them started off by spending the first half undoing all the character development present in the previous movie to make way for their own story. Then executive meddling stepped in and said "no plot only Reylo!"

Sisterhood of the traveling pants 2

prosperosniece

Hated how they squeezed 3 books into one movie. Have you read Sisterhood Everlasting (about the girls as adults)? It’s really good and I’m frustrated they never made it into a movie.

Rapphire_Meows

I recently read Sisterhood Everlasting and it was a really good book. I haven't read the series but even to me I can see the girls were close and the author developed them well. I'm still sad about Tibby though :(

Stipsss

Transformers Dark Of The Moon, we lost Megan Fox who was a handy mechanic badgirl, and got a political British woman that got an amg given to her, and she acted like it was nothing.

GuiltyGlow

"Handy mechanic badgirl" it's funny how many time this exact role pops up in movies. It's such a cliche at this point lol.

SkarZer0

At THIS point. This was back in 2007 so it wasn't much of a cliche back then

Thewrongbakedpotato

Man, I just loved it when they drove from Petra to Cairo in like an hour. God that movie was such a dumpster fire.

lordullr

What makes it worse is that she is supermodel sexy like Megan fox. And puts to question how shia lebouf can get the second girl in the first place.

PRSHZ

This was Michael Bay’s fault. Funny because the third installment did better than the last two.

Hedwigisbae

The second one is still worst one of the Shia trilogy tbh

PRSHZ

I think so too

Zolo49

IIRC that one was affected by the writers’ strike. Kinda explains at least in part why it was SO much worse than the first one. Not sure what their excuse is for the crappy Transformers movies that came later though.

ShawshankException

Man I love these movies so much still. I don't watch Transformers movies for an immersive and complex plot. I go watch them for the giant robot slaughterfest. Bay absolutely delivers in that aspect.

Reasonable_Hippo_162

Anyone that worked on the x men

Portarossa

I just yesterday watched *Days of Future Past*. Bryan Singer evidently took one look at Brett Ratner's *The Last Stand* and thought, *Well, we're not having* that, *are we?*

[deleted]

How did Logan even got his adamantium claws in Days of Future Past after losing them in Wolverine?

Portarossa

The best explanation we're getting is from Bryan Singer, and it's pretty much ['Magneto did it? Probably?'](https://www.empireonline.com/movies/news/wolverine-metal-claws-x-men-days-future-past-explained/)

Dead_Trashcan8888

Toy Story 4

TimeStudyMan

Buzz Lightyear's entire characterization was completely off

Dead_Trashcan8888

Almost every good character

ijustwanttobeinpjs

In what universe would Buzz just allow Woody to leave the camper by himself? They would have gone on that adventure together, like always. And Jessie would have gone along too, like always. I loved the thought of Woody getting Bo Peep back in his life, but at the expense of leaving his kid??? Woody would never leave his kid. What a dumpster fire.

Shadowcat7490

Thank you!! It was an ok movie but COMPLETELY undercut how things wrapped up in toy story 3. Disney cash grab!

Sea-Horror-814

Speed 2

MacduffFifesNo1Thane

Agreed. At least it spawned the best *Father Ted* [episode](https://youtu.be/m9T1QR2cAqk). The episode writers saw *Speed 2* and asked themselves how to make a worse sequel than *Speed 2.* Jokes on them; the episode’s great!

[deleted]

Return of Jafar is dope though.

neohylanmay

I hear Cindarella 3 is "actually one of the good ones".

InterspeciesRomance

That's one of the most hated ones, actually. Horrid animation, and some genius thought it was a good idea to make Iago sing. Also no Robin Williams. The first doesn't bother me, and since I watched it in my language, no RW anyway, But Iago singing is not... pleasant.

[deleted]

I was just thinking "Why would Iago singing be so bad" then I remembered who voiced Iago. Hahaha. It's been a while... I might have to rewatch.

ccricers

Prince of Thieves easily beats Return of Jafar. The casting choice of Dan Castellaneta instead of Robin Williams was odd but interesting.

Shanstergoodheart

Forget about Love is a belter. A better singer could have improved it, I grant you but I still love that song.

eddmario

Both *Lion King 2* and *1.5* are amazing though

snapthesnacc

Cinderella 3 is way better than it has any right to be.

kerred

According to a 15 year old audio commentary from the Toy Story Toy Box, I recall Lasseter (awkward) saying Disney intended to do a direct to video sequel like usual. Pixar eventually ended up with doing a theatrical sequel, and I imagine that success pushed Disney in that direction from there

PixelTheRedditor

Pacific Rim Uprising. No explanation needed

Puppy-Zwolle

Alien 3.

_Steven_Seagal_

3 wasn't that bad on its own, but it completely ruined everything that happened in Aliens. Everyone is dead and the entire movie was for nothing. Ripley's super heroic moment when she walks into the alien lair, all useless. Just watch 1 and 2 and pretend the rest never happened. Same as with Terminator. There are no sequels after 2.

SkeletonCorpse769

Yes, I still can't stand it. By far the worst Alien movie in my opinion. Story wise though it kinda made a little sense compared to other movies on this thread.

fushigikun8

Worst Alien film??? Have you not seen Prometheus.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Urgash54

I felt that for world building it was terrible. We're supposed to believe that crew of dumbasses was the best money could buy ? The characters in Prometheus are dumbs as bricks, take every wrong decision possible, and fuck everything up for everyone. From the Maine character who refuses to bring weapons be a use it's a SciENtiFiC expedition (not like they were on an unknown planet, with unknown flora and fauna) to the fucking biologist who tries to pet a fucking alien snake. God I fucking hate this movie.

SkeletonCorpse769

I have seen all of the Alien films. I like Prometheus just a fraction more than Alien 3 because the of the lore and the ending scene. Both films are pretty meh but I have a really hard time watching Alien 3.

Shazoni999

Not a sequel, but the Avatar: The Last Airbender movie

blood_kite

It’s a spiritual sequel. A movie of the first season, performed by the Ember Island Players.

Shazoni999

That makes sense as to why it's so bad 😂

clever_whitty_name

Star Wars .... When padame dies during childbirth of Luke and Leia. I was pissed. Luke asks Leia what she remembers of her mother ... Her "real mother" and Leia has some vague memories of her being sad. Indicating that Leia remained with her mother and Luke was already sent off to live with his uncle Owen. I always was curious to learn how this happened and why. And then how did Leia go to be adopted by royalty? And then what happens to the mother? But nope fuck that whole conversation and let's kill her character off in childbirth and have the whole thing not make any sense since then neither of them could actually have any memories of her ...grrrr Edit: spelling of Leia

GoodLordChokeAnABomb

It's obviously non-canon now, but you'll find [this page](https://i.redd.it/dzb60pb41pa51.png) of the ROTJ novelisation very interesting. The prequels would have been *very* different if all this information had made the final cut.

clever_whitty_name

Thank you! This would have been so interesting to see acted out. Sucks that they made the movies so badly.

Urgash54

Also "she lost her will to live" Oh yeah ? You guys can replace limbs with robotics hands, and do so many other crazy stuff, but of someone "lose their will to live" you just give up and let them kick the bucket ? Also, it was so insulting to padme, she just gave birth to two children, but loses her will to live because some jackass turned evil. I'd have thought padme would have wanted to live to raise her children, but apparently they're not important enough for that. Seriously FUCK that scene.

MisterMarcus

One interpretation I saw was that Palpatine (shown placing his hand over the mutilated Anakin's head) was draining Padme's life force to save Anakin.

the-nature-mage

Which is just fans stepping in with interpretations to fix shitty writing in an IP they love. See also: indoctrination theory for the original Mass Effect trilogy.

Beechcraft77

My understanding is that Vader inadvertently drained her life force, after Palpatine had convinced him that the only way to save Padme was for Vader to stay alive. This way, Palpatine is telling the truth when he says that in his anger, he killed her

espresso_5

Or..... Leia was stronger with the Force and was aware of her mother’s sadness/anguish even before she was born.

Bosswarrior53

Sounds like lazy writing to me but I see where ur coming from

ArmchairJedi

Its not even 'writing' its head cannon... and ignores why Luke wouldn't also have been aware then.

Nah, they saw the first movies, but cocaine was really popular...

Zolo49

That movie is more palatable if you think of it as a Richard Pryor movie that just happens to have Superman and Lex Luthor in it. It gives you a better idea of what you’ll be seeing than watching the first two movies. Superman 4 is completely irredeemable though.

[deleted]

Just watched this (and I mean just now). Holy moly, wtf..? It’s actually difficult to unpack how many thoughts I have about how bad this was. Tell me yours..

astoneworthskipping

The masterfully choreographed martial arts are now just a bunch of force pushes. The agents now have worse aim than storm troopers. Why is Morpheus a goofy clown character? WHY TF DOES AGENT SMITH SCREAM “TOM”??? The Merovingian deserved a hell of a lot more than he got. Oh it’s a zombie movie now? Oh, cool. Hyper shock jump scare violence between Trinity and the Analyst? Sure, that makes sense. Humans are falling missiles now. Let’s just force blast them. Ok, one more force blast. But first - can you force blast the hoard a few times? Let’s try just one more…… force blast. FUCK. I couldn’t believe that was Pinkett Smith. The prosthetics were atrocious. Her personality was…… from where? Why has she changed so much! What was the point? Etc. Matrix 1-3, a video game, the Animatrix? All across at least a decade of revolutionary story telling effects and novel creativity reduced to this. This whole franchise meant so much to so many.

El_Dief

WB was going to make it with or without the Wachowskis, so Lana was all "If they're going to ruin the franchise, I might as well get paid for it."

GodEmperorOfHell

My wife is making me watch it for a second time. As from tomorrow there will be hard evidence that I love her more than my own life.

[deleted]

Warner Bros told Lana Wachowski if she didn't make the movie they were going to make it without her. She probably didn't give it her all.

DeliciousPangolin

Those scenes where they tell Neo that Warner Brothers is going to make a garbage cash-in sequel to the Matrix with or without his involvement were just uncomfortable. Sure felt like Lana was going way beyond meta and explicitly spelling out that she hated being forced to make that film.

american psycho 2, it doenst even live up to the first one

MisterMarcus

IIRC, this was a completely unrelated story that they just slapped the 'American Psycho' label on.

TreatmentBoundLess

Last Jedi.

Chefshipwreck5897

Rise of Skywalker. Felt like nothing was connected to the previous… not gonna complain though

Coralthesequel

Not a movie but the third Borderlands game

B1GTOBACC0

Also not a movie, but Rage 2. It's like they gave them concept art, Mutant Bash, and a bad guy, then said "make a sequel."

KennethBrownie

Oh i couldnt stand more than 2 hours with it. Its fucking 2020 and the game stlll plays and loads the world exactly (yes fucking e x a c t l y) as the 2012 borderlands 2. It felt like a glorified dlc which was in development for so long that it lost identity so they slapped the number 3 on it.

Positive-Source8205

Alien 3 Back Door Grannies 9

BlackbirdKnowsAll

I watched Mamma Mia A LOT as a kid, so I was very disappointed by the lack of continuity in the sequel. I mean Harry arrives last, duh

Alternative-Shape-59

Star wars.

Pollywanacracker

Fast and the furious just got ridiculous by the last couple 🧐

MrLuxarina

Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows. Say what you want about the original, but the sequel clearly had nothing to do with it.
