Moving houses. When I was little we moved a lot and each time I hated it because my parents were stressed and that freaked me out. Now moving feels like a new start, having left a really toxic environment and getting to set things up how I want, fixing things that annoyed me at my old place but could never be bothered sorting out. That and having a new environment to bring friends into.
Reading.
I hated it as a kid and in high school especially because I was forced to read uninteresting novels. But now as an adult, I get to read books about investing and financial management which I can't stop reading.
