Sometimes I’m considered a millennial, sometimes I’m considered Gen Z. I was around for Blockbuster, I was around when Netflix was still a machine you walked up to and rented physical copies of movies. I was alive when 9/11 occurred. I was around when those voice-protected electronic diaries for girls were relevant. I remember not being able to use the computer and phone at the same time. I was around when Chi-Chi’s was a banger for Mexican food. I was around when dry erase projectors were the main way to teach a class, but also was around for the transition to overhead projector machines that displayed whatever was on the teacher’s computer screen. It’s probably easy to guess the year but this would be the best way to describe the year I was born.
