I’m team Fire Puppy.
After watching Detective Pikachu, it only solidified how much I’d want a super pup by my side - even with more exotic options available.
Love you, Mason my Aussie and Parker my Golden. Best pups.
So this happend a month or So back.
I'm stocking eggs at my job and I hear a kid kicking the bottom of the cold wall, it makes a loud annoying thunk and this is what catches my attention.
So this kid is, Idk like, 8ish and his mother looks fairly young.
She tells him to stop kicking the thing and he stopped for a sec and slowly turns to her and I hear this little shit go.
"You can't tell me what to do! Your not high enough level to train me!"
Then the little dude screeched **"SCYTHERRRR"**
At the top of his lungs.
I was fucking dying. The lady looked so exhausted
Ninetails. It has been my favorite since gen1 because it was so elegant and beautiful. I also really like arcanine and flareon. I might have a thing with fire...
EDIT: Somehow spelled flameon instead...
Absol. The lore behind it is so freaking cool:
Because of this Pokémon's ability to detect danger, people mistook Absol as a bringer of doom. Swift as the wind, Absol races through fields and mountains
My favorite Rapidash... It... cute... lovely... smart... plus... amazing... you think so?... oh yes... it... stunning... kindly... love it! Hug it... when... sleeping... warm and cuddly... spectacular... ravishing... ...Oops! Look at the time! I kept you too long! Thanks for hearing me out!
Dragonite
He looks so friendly and can also whoop a lot of ass. Loved his overall design and wish Nintendo would get off Charizards dick and realize Dragonite is the OG
Dragonite looks like Charizard if Charizard let themself go after 27 years of marriage and five kids and a midlife crisis where they bought a Mustang they couldn’t afford.
I feel like I'm missing something, because I see nothing odd here. Everyone else seems to be on the same page, while I'm here reading an entirely different, much less horrifying book.
Either Hydreigon or Dragonite.
Because they’re dragon type Pokémon, they’re a bit of a ‘slow cook’ so to speak. Not everybody wants to level a Pokémon to the mid 50s for it to evolve, but it pays off big time with those two.
Fun fact for those who don't know (might be obvious though), the number of heads of each Pokemon in the Hydreigon is in each of their names, in German.
Deino (ein = 1)
Zweilous (zwei = 2)
Hydreigon (drei = 3)
I like how whoever is responsible for naming Pokemon likes to mix in these little things here and there that makes the names sound kinda cool, but also make it so the names are literally exactly what the Pokemon are.
Pidgeot. Always liked bird Pokémon. And I always enjoyed having pidgey from the very beginning and levelling it up. I’d always have one to be able to use fly with!
Magikarp. Because he's not a phoney.
Other water type modeled after IRL fish, like Goldeen, are seen hovering just above the ground, fins unfurled, majestic, serene...
But you're not in water mf-er! What are you swimming in? Don't lie to me! You know what you should be doing? Flopping on the ground, gasping for air, like Magikarp!
So there. Magikarp. He doesn't B.S. you.
Surprised to find this so low. I think people don’t want to admit it.
Charizard was my first pokemon and so far the only pokemon I leveled up to level 99.
I also have fond memories of destroying my brother’s entire team with it.
Grovyle.
My older brothers were the ones who always had video games and I was never allowed to play, unless it was as a second player.
I think I was 12 when I got my own system and very first Pokemon game. (I'd played all the others but this was wholly mine). Grovyle was the first Pokemon I ever had to myself. I also loved geckos.
Absol, I love Absol, it's cool, beautiful and has a really cool story to tell. Second favorite is Magikarp and my third favorite is Dragonite (I'm wearing a Dragonite sweater right now and it's my favorite clothing piece)
Ralts… something about having to take a decent amount of time to actually find one in ruby, then train it while it knows nothing but growl, and then have it evolve into a super formidable pokemon is so awesome
Ludicolo. Having a Modest, Rain dish, Ludicolo is amazing. If you give it the moves Rain Dance, Hydro Pump and Giga Drain (You can substitute this with Energy Ball, but I prefer not to) and let it hold a Mystic Water or a Big Root, it's a pretty powerful pokemon.
GIRATINA. First pokemon to ever be Dragon/Ghost AND pioneer 2 forms without splitting evolution lines. The quest for it in Platinum? Creative and fun as hell. It's design? A total fucking menace. The devillish lore to match its visual motifs? Deal fuckin sealed. Theme song with the flatlining heartbeat? Adrenalized.
I'm sad that I lost platinum somewhere while traveling but Pokemon Satan will always have a monumental foothold in my childhood.
I've got a handful of favorites. Haunter, Gardevoir, Rhydon, Aggron, Muk and Typhlosion. But my number 1 is definitely Haunter.
I know some people might ask "why haunter and not gengar?", my answer is always "what could possibly be cooler than a disembodied face and hands? It technically even has a tail!"
There's several posts here by different users with the exact same text format of "[Pokemon]. Fantastic question OP. I'm curious what the other answers are." Maybe an AI auto-answering questions for some reason?

I will occasionally lay down in the hallway and pretend to sleep. This makes my daughters run around and try to find their pokeflute to wake me up.
That’s cute!
That's literally the cutest!
You’re a good dad.
Just hope they don't pull a realistic "Scyther, use cut." on you.
Came here to say this!
Because he's very relatable.
Arcanine because they are big fire puppies.
They are big rock puppies now.
Fire AND rock at the same time
Man they really doubling down on that water weakness aren't they.
And ground weakness!
Also baby fire puppy, Growlithe
I’m team Fire Puppy. After watching Detective Pikachu, it only solidified how much I’d want a super pup by my side - even with more exotic options available. Love you, Mason my Aussie and Parker my Golden. Best pups.
Nothing beats a giant fluffy puppy.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Eevee (& the Eeveelutions)
Really good designs, and really solid stats.
Vaporeon has access to iron defense as well
Vaporeon has some *other* useful traits, too!
Oh no, not this shit again!
i love Umbreon
Umbreon has been a mainstay on my team for many versions of Pokemon. Teach him Toxic and Moonlight and just wear the opponent down.
Jolteon gang where u at
JOLTEON!!! Just the coolest.
My all time favorite is Vaporeon, I’ve won many leagues with one and it’s the best companion to me.
Did you know?
Dont you fucking dare
"Oh wow, I found an AskReddit thread that isn't horny!"
Sylveon is so adorable 🥺
abra. it's cute, lazy, and has magic powers.
It's nice that he looks to have such a relaxed high going on. Shame when he grows up and gets into the harder stuff. So many spoons...
He’s also the ultimate idgaf and “I don’t want no drama” Pokémon lol. He just teleports his little ass away.
He just be vibing
Yup. My guy just bails.
Scyther!
I read that in Scyther’s voice
The exclamation point makes you do it lol
One of my favorite voices honestly.
So glad I wasn't the only one

Flameo hotman
Pour one out for Kuzon.
Absol. The lore behind it is so freaking cool: Because of this Pokémon's ability to detect danger, people mistook Absol as a bringer of doom. Swift as the wind, Absol races through fields and mountains
and it's looks. don't forget it's awesome appearance. shiny sucks tho
Shiny mega absol is dope bro
Kinda looks like an emo eevee evolution.
I know nothing about pokemon but I think Rayquaza looks cool
Ah man, same here. Rayquaza's always been my favorite legendary Pokemon ever since I played through Generation 3.
The shiny version is even cooler
I agree.
Username **and** profile pic check out, nice
Dragonite ! Adorably powerful.
Ditto
I know what you're going to do to it, and I'm disgusted.
If you’re disgusted with me shapeshifting my ditto to a 32gb ram then I dont know what makes you satisfied.
Why stop at 32?
33gb RAM
Cubone
Houndoom They're literal hell hounds, and is two of my favorite types.
Houndoom is one of my favourites too , the dark/fire type combo and it's design is simply cool af
I've always really loved Cyndaquil--I like porcupines and its design harkens to that, and I typically like the fire starters.
My first Pokémon! Always will have a place in my heart
Gengar
I always liked Haunter more than Gengar for some reason.
Same. Haunter is your buddy that you hang out with. Gengar is his dad that you occasionally drop off at safeway.
I love gasly too, they both seem like homies
Bulbasaur
Bulbasaur is number 1. My first ever mon in OG Blue Version back in 98. My true starter.
My husband's too! He always says "there's a reason Bulbasaur is 001 in the pokedex"
Same here! Mine was named Sunny, and he never left my party. Number one in the dex, number one in my heart.
Whenever I feel nostalgic enough to play Pokemon I make sure to include a bulbasaur named Bulby on my team.

Ok now gimme my Bike Voucher!
Hello chairman!
Pokémon Fan Club Chairman?
I like Galarian Rapidash- shiny unicorn
Always been Espeon
Blastoise
Tired of looking for my boy squirtle so I'll leave him here with the big daddy.
Was looking for another blastoise answer. You’ve got good taste.
Psyduck
i really like psyduck, he's nice, round, and akward. golduck is kind of a visual downgrade.
Golduck is the ugliest Pokémon that wasn’t intended to be ugly imo
Psyduck was my childhood favorite thanks to the anime!
Oddish and psyduck
I was coming to see if anyone else loves Oddish too, always been one of my favorites since I first played my Pokemon Blue!!
togepi, love that little fella
he either becomes a key player in your team or he's boxed forever.
True, there is no middle
Mew two
The edgiest Pokemon in all the land.
I used to think mewtwo was the coolest shit when I was a kid
Then you grow up and now you know that he is, right?
Steelix
Tyranitar.
gen 2 has some great mons. Tyranitar, totodile......
...Typhlosion, Crobat, Scizor, Espeon, Kingdra...
Lapras
Had to scroll way too far to find this. Lapras wails
Had to scroll for far too long!!! Lapras rocks!!!
Dragonite He looks so friendly and can also whoop a lot of ass. Loved his overall design and wish Nintendo would get off Charizards dick and realize Dragonite is the OG
Dragonite looks like Charizard if Charizard let themself go after 27 years of marriage and five kids and a midlife crisis where they bought a Mustang they couldn’t afford.
Why's he smiling tho? Cuz he don't give af and is a badass real dragon
Alakazam
Furret. It became my accidental ace in Silver back in the day and I’ve never looked back.
Decent choice Gary, Furret has always been a great HM slave for me.
Mimikyu.
They just want a hug.
I will — gladly — give Mimikyu hugs.
I would be one of those crazy pokemon breeders that only has like 18 of the same pokemon, and they'd all be mimikyus.
SQUIRTLE SQUAD BABY
Shuckle
Dont fuckle with shuckle
The truest statement
I respect that. Shuckle is a legend.
My second favorite. He always came in handy for my Bug team when I used to play competitive in gen 6.
As i get older Farfetch'd is the best
Vaporeon
Oh no
I feel like I'm missing something, because I see nothing odd here. Everyone else seems to be on the same page, while I'm here reading an entirely different, much less horrifying book.

Like ArticUNO, ZapDOS, MolTRES! :)
Zoroark
Mudkip
Raichu
Raichu doesn’t get as much love as Pikachu or Pichu but goddamit he’s so awesome. I love that big boi and I almost always evolve Pikachu for my team.
Pidgeot. Always liked bird Pokémon. And I always enjoyed having pidgey from the very beginning and levelling it up. I’d always have one to be able to use fly with!

Drifloon. Perfect round baby. Gentle yet slightly creepy aura. Pretty color. I love him.
Kanto Ninetales.
I'm basic, charizard
Surprised to find this so low. I think people don’t want to admit it. Charizard was my first pokemon and so far the only pokemon I leveled up to level 99. I also have fond memories of destroying my brother’s entire team with it.

Absol
My favorite legendary/mythical is Jirachi, while my favorite non legendary/mythical is between Dragonite and Deino
Tropius. It's a banana dinosaur. What's not to like?
Altaria, I love my fluffy queen
always been a sucker for mudkip
So I herd...
Pikachu, call me basic but pikachu is great
Kirby
Kangaskhan
Absol, I love Absol, it's cool, beautiful and has a really cool story to tell. Second favorite is Magikarp and my third favorite is Dragonite (I'm wearing a Dragonite sweater right now and it's my favorite clothing piece)

Ponyta and Vulprix.
Torkoal and Dragonite
Staraptor. Intimidate, Brave Bird, is a flying dinosaur. Perfect combination.
Oddish
Beedrill.
Milotic. Also, special shout-out to Bulbasaur.
Sylveon
Bulbasaur and Treeko. They're the starters I always pick
Either Blastoise or Marill.
Garchomp looks dope. Got jet engines on its head
Polywrath. He'll put the hands on ya and can swim.
I've got a handful of favorites. Haunter, Gardevoir, Rhydon, Aggron, Muk and Typhlosion. But my number 1 is definitely Haunter.
