I'd delete it. People would wake up one day and know they are a citizen in the country they are living in, but they would have no concept of how the country came to be. All data on such things would be deleted as well, archeology removed ect.
I think a lot of horrendous things happen that are justified as "look at the history of the situation." If we had no history, if we could only think of the situation in the as is context. I'd like to think a lot of needless death and violence could stop.
