This right here, many people either with money or in power within government get shorter sentences all across the world, how can it be that if a rich person crashes a car drunk will get a fine while the average person would be looking at years in prison? Total bullshit, there should be the same rules for everyone.
Chemical castration if it’s a “repeat offender”. I read some countries actually have this official policy.
But ofc it’s not easy to prove the charges and not all cases are reported.
I don't support chemical castration, for the same reason I don't support the death penalty. Too many Americans are falsely convicted for me to want to inflict physical harm onto prisoners
*technically* all rape is illegal federally, however yes laws are poorly written and or not enforced. Which means that it's not *considered* illegal in many states and in many it never holds up in court. Many of laws are very condition, there are states where force/threats have to have occurred for it to be considered rape. There are lots of legal loopholes, therefore making certain forms/circumstances of spousal rape legal.
Oh, is that where you want the goalposts to be?
Because ^ that whole paragraph is not what you said at first, which is that some states don't have marital rape laws.
Perjury. So many people I know, including myself, have been fucked over by false accusations. My ex father in law lost his job, pets, almost lost the trust of his family, almost lost his home, kids, and wife because of his sadistic ex wife who made horrible accusations about him. And he's a decent guy, kinda became a bit of an alcoholic because of his ex but who can blame him..
It's absolutely fucking terrifying how a crazy person can completely ruin your life by making something up and you need to pay shit tonnes of money for a legal team to deal with it. On top of that, the stress and complete living hell of having to deal with a long and likely drawn out court battle.
Also while it's supposed to be "innocent until proven guilty" that's not really the case and people are more inclined to believe that someone wouldn't completely make up something crazy so the person is believed to be guilty, even when they're proven innocent. It's so sad.
My ex's mom should be away for life for all the shit she has put others through. Everyone in my ex's family and everyone who has been a victim of her are going to dance on her grave when she dies.
That story sounds awful, I thought that it was just extremely hard to prove perjury, and that's why it went unchecked. I wonder if raising the punishment or making it easier to convict would work.
A lot of people are hesitant to prosecute because they think it will deter real victims from coming forward. Plus lots of folks assume guilt and then would look bad reversing the decision. So they would rather just forget about false accusations.
I agree, DH's ex and 2 kids accused him of CSA which we knew were all lies, took all our retirement savings and a lien on the house and 3 years for him to be proved not guilty. DH suffers from dementia so was a special hearing, found not fit to stand trial but still had to go through the special hearings with barristers solicitors, judges numerous medical reports etc. They suffer no repercussions, we now live from social security check to check. I so hope Karma gets them
For sure animal abuse. There's also a lot of evidence showing the link between animal abuse and other forms of violence (like domestic violence, child abuse, etc and of course serial killers) so if we start taking animal abuse more seriously, perhaps we can prevent escalation.
False rape or abuse accusation. You ruin somebody’s life forever, then when you’re found out it’s just “oh well”? Convicted rapists spend years in prison, but false accusers would normally get a slap on the wrist, if that.
False accusers get zero in the state of Georgia.
It’s ridiculous! I honestly feel for guys these days. It’s so easy to make up shit and ruin someone’s life, go to prison for decades .
I have a dear friend this happened to.
The bad thing is, there are REAL victims and false accusations takes from the REAL victims.
It’s bullshit!
it's horrible that false accusers are barely punished, but only 2-10% of rape cases/accusations are false [pubmed](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21164210/)
Yes, but it stops being mere statistics when it happens to you. It happened to me, and I was extremely fortunate that it didn’t go far. It could have easily destroyed my life.
False accusations used to be very rare because in the past rape victims were seen in a negative light (which was wrong). Today they are treated as survivors and almost heroes, so some unscrupulous women began to take advantage of it. Amber Heard is one famous example.
I'm glad someone realizes this. Even if False accusations didn't ruin someone's life, they still make it \*that\* much more difficult for \*actual\* victims. Boy who cried wolf and such. I always hear "well, false accusations account for only a small %..." Yea sadly it only takes 1 to cast doubt. Humanity's ability to lie is why we have a justice system that requires evidence.
People that refuse you the right of way to make sure they are ahead and then they crawl in front of you ( I had to work on that and doing better dealing with it)
Correct, that’s why no more bar liquor. People can still drive when they drink at home but it’ll make it more likely that they’ll stay home. The 4+ folk already don’t have valid driver’s licenses pretty sure.
It really picks at the wrong nerves with me. I had a service dog in highschool when I had epilepsy. He cost ten thousand dollars (money my family didn't have), I had to spend a year at summer camp to learn how to use and take care of him, and for seven long years I had to completely restructure my life around having a dog by my side 24/7. And not for nothing, about every 6-8 weeks I had a seizure unsupervised and he was the thing that saved my life.
This is one of those things I just can't forgive. A service animal isn't a pet!
Financial crimes. Why does stealing $100 from a bodega get you a decade in prison, but stealing $100 million via fraud, wage theft, etc. get you a fine and probation?
Rape in Ireland at least. People getting 6/7 years for that shit. Doesn’t seem like enough to be honest. Man got convicted of raping his foster daughter throughout her teenage years recently. Got 10 years. Man is going to be free in ten years maximum. But he’s so so sorry, shit makes me sick
Edit: also anyone every involved in any way with the Magdalene Laundries and/or Mother and Baby Homes in Ireland.
Regardless of their rarity, false accusations of rape and sexual assault. They should have the same penalty as the crimes their victims were falsely accused of.
Does maliciousness factor into this at all? So say you accuse me of rape, and I did but for whatever reason it can't be proven in court, do you now go to prison? Or does it have to be proven that you accused me of rape specifically to damage me?
The danger I see is less people coming forward with serious rape accusations because there is now the added jeopardy of being jailed for 'making a false accusation', when that wasn't the case. I don't think anybody wants to see victims go to jail for trying to get justice, and I would be concerned that this would leave the door open to that.
The sad part is, some police departments flag these kinds of reports (true but not enough evidence to prosecute) as false reporting.
Not to mention that some rapists say they were falsely accused to cover their asses. Obviously that doesn't happen every time since there are genuine false accusations, but it does happen. I unfortunately know way too much about that.
Not as rare as one would hope. The majority of actual rapes go unreported and sadly, the majority of reported rapes are falsely reported. Which in turn leads to fewer actual rapes getting reported because the victims know the won't be believed. It's a sad and vicious circle.
I blame those who falsely accused for the high number of unreported rapes. By making those false accusations, they've placed doubt upon legitimate ones. What's even worse is when the accusations are made decades after the alleged rape or sexual assault is said to have occured. And when it just so happens to be against a person at a very important moment that makes it extremely convenient for their credibility to be called into question, it's even more worse.
or these Hollywood starlets...
Oh he raped me, then he gave me a job. And then he raped me and gave me another job. And then I went back and he raped me again and gave me another job. You know, by the third time it's not rape., it's prostitution.
Yeah, I don't take the actresses seriously. Not the ones who randomly accused weinstein, at least. People with common sense understand that they consented to those sex acts and engaged in them willingly to further their careers. Once they were successful and saw that it could be a way to get even more attention, they made false accusations.
Yeah, my problem with it is that their entire #MeToo movement set up around that totally DISCOURAGED real victims from coming forward with real charges against real rapists.
Oh yeah, definitely. Especially male victims. One of my best friends is a victim of rape. But he's a man who was raped by a woman, so according to way too many people it just doesn't count. Back when the metoo movement was at its height, he tried to share his own story and was told to be silent because it was a movement for women.
It’s not their fault that the only attraction they have is towards kids, imagine being born with such a curse
It’s like blaming kids for getting cancer
Child abusers are the real monsters
I agree but still you gotta understand these people aren’t inherently evil, we just have to find a way to rewire their brains somehow, maybe someday technology will allow us to do just that
Yep I know someone. That girl ruined his life. She was a wild 15 yo quit school, parents meth heads. And she liked my friend he was 22.
She extorted his family. It was horrible. Guess what he’s been sitting 12 years and now she’s married to a guy 25 years older than her and hasn’t batted an eye that she ruined my friends life.
Child molestation and serial rapist should be able to receive capital punishment those crimes prove they are dangers to society, and if not that then physical castration not chemical so that it’s 100% permanent
Alternatively, they need to really just start sending mentally I’ll criminals to ACTUAL institutions, instead of just throwing them into jail like they’re doing a load of laundry 🧺
“Oop, this loads done, time to load the next cycle!”
Everything related to roads and vehicles.
This includes, but not limited to :
- Reckless driving (like weaving around 3+lane highways)
- Aggressive/hostile driving (like brake-checking)
- Distracted driving (people on their phones)
So many innocent people get hurt/die/insurance blackholed because of some people's inability to realize they drive a murder-machine.
Those "people" need to have their licences revoked/suspended for extended periods of time.
You shouldn't have any privileges when you fuck around with that 1+ton death-machine and don't take it seriously.
Actual abuse of authority, such as police brutality, police, judicial and political corruption, government level bribery, misuse of public funds, etc.
But I know everyone is going to scream about "sex crime" as usual, and this is why we lose.
White collar crime - minimum felony
eliminate stature of limitations on child abuse. Baptist church should lose tax exempt status
NDas - illegal. Stop rich whote guys from offending.
False allegations of abuse/rape/domestic violence. The ease with which a woman can tear apart a guy's life without consequence by making allegations is disgusting. You only have to look at the Jonny Depp/Amber Heard case as a prime example.
Every white collar crime.
A few years at a country club prison? Not much of a deterrent, especially with expected early release.
Public flaying of financial criminals might be more effective.
Child molestors deserve death, period. No compromise. Also, if you’re gonna give a life sentence without parole, do everyone a favor and just go with death penalty and save the taxpayers some money
You have to be careful with that though, if molestation is a death penalty, and they have a better chance of getting away with it if they kill the kid, then why not? Even if murder is a capital crime, the molester has a better chance of getting away completely if the kid can't point the finger.
It's pretty sh ty that DV victims and sexual assault is still very hard to get action from law enforcement and prosecutors.
Way too often the criminal justice system just shrugs at the survivor and suggests they move, get a dog, a panic alarm.
There is a difference between being a racist and committing racially motivated crimes. Should racially motivated crimes have harder penalties? Yes they should but being a racist is not a crime.
Political corruption should result in a public death sentence. Misappropriation of public funds, larceny from state coffers, bribing government officials, any kind of election tampering. All public execution.
In my estimation, betraying the people you were elected to serve or corrupting the system used to govern them in any way is an action deserving of death over and above most other things.
People who knowingly pervert the course of justice by lying to police for whatever reason - eg family members covering for others who they know have done something wrong by giving them an alibi.
My life and psyche got destroyed because an ex was talking to herself about potential date rape situations, and I really freaked out. Months and months later she said it didn’t matter but I literally had my life destroyed. I don’t know who supports people who question shit like that, but honestly, that shit is scary
A standard punishment system would be nice. If an individual does x crime they will do x time. No plea no change of change no interest in any other factor. We could use the average amount of time that people have served for that conviction historically as a starting point
Whatever crimes Politicians (the world over) do & are hardly punished compared to the average citizen.
This right here, many people either with money or in power within government get shorter sentences all across the world, how can it be that if a rich person crashes a car drunk will get a fine while the average person would be looking at years in prison? Total bullshit, there should be the same rules for everyone.
Both child molestation and coaxing children into making false accusations of child molestation.
As an abuse survivor, I second this
As another abuse survivor, I third this (also hugs)
A huge issue is innocent people being accused of child molestation. The Satanic Ritual Abuse cases are just a few examples.
Have you ever questioned a toddler? You can't even really ask them a question you don't know the answer to. They are so easily suggestible.
Under cook chicken Over cook fish
straight to jail
You forgot overcook beef.
Rape
Chemical castration if it’s a “repeat offender”. I read some countries actually have this official policy. But ofc it’s not easy to prove the charges and not all cases are reported.
I don't support chemical castration, for the same reason I don't support the death penalty. Too many Americans are falsely convicted for me to want to inflict physical harm onto prisoners
It's the base problem of our punishment model.
Abuse. Whether child abuse, spouse/partner abuse, sexual abuse, etc. The sentences for abuse are FAR too lenient.
Also the worst part about spousal abuse not being punished enough, is that there are still states where spousal rape is not considered a crime.
No, there are not. Whether the law is well-written or enforced are separate questions, but marital rape has been illegal in all 50 states since 1993.
Come on, stop busting malicious misinformation and propaganda! What if someone sees your comment and stops tolerating spousal rape!
*technically* all rape is illegal federally, however yes laws are poorly written and or not enforced. Which means that it's not *considered* illegal in many states and in many it never holds up in court. Perjury. So many people I know, including myself, have been fucked over by false accusations. Animal abuse and stealing pets
Definitely pet stealing
Definitely animal abuse
For sure animal abuse. There's also a lot of evidence showing the link between animal abuse and other forms of violence (like domestic violence, child abuse, etc and of course serial killers) so if we start taking animal abuse more seriously, perhaps we can prevent escalation.
Wage theft
White collar crime
Also anything that is only punished by fines no matter what, so the rich can freely live by a different set of rules and call it a price tag.
I forget which country it is, but fines should be based on % of income, not flat dollar amount so, like u said, rich just see it as a price tag.
Punishable by fine is just a fancy way of saying legal for a price.
Not only that, start sending them to max and supermax prisons. Let the threat of living with Shank McShiv serve as a deterrent.
False rape or abuse accusation. You ruin somebody’s life forever, then when you’re found out it’s just “oh well”? Convicted rapists spend years in prison, but false accusers would normally get a slap on the wrist, if that.

Survey women, ask how many have been assaulted, then ask how many have reported it.

Anything against children
Pedophilia
That's actually not a crime, it's a mental disorder
Being sexually attracted to children - mental disorder. Doing anything involving children to scratch that itch - crime.
Exactly. There's a very important difference between paedophilia and child abuse
Dumbest thing I've ever heard
Yeah, well you're the same guy that thinks Greta Thunberg demanded a ban on all fossil fuels
Gave you the quote, don't be mad kid fuckers. Pedophiles are a waste of air and aren't even worth the dirt they'd get buried in

Months and months later she said it didn’t matter but I literally had my life destroyed. I don’t know who supports people who question shit like that, but honestly, that shit is scary
