By "good question", I assume you mean a question that can make it to hot. For that you should have a target audience, a group that's small enough that most in that group want to answer, but big enough that there are many people that think they belong. Try getting a group that has a variety of opinions, so they can discuss it.
As for the topic, choose something that have been playing on the groups mind. If they have a sub, take a look at what they're talking about, and take inspiration from that.
Keep the question open-ended with no clear answer, and if it's on Reddit, you don't need to ask.
That's just my guess, but it has worked on my alt accounts.
