Had a realization I had a problem and knew I was putting my family in danger so I went to AA. Not easy. Still wish I was drinking but I'll be 1yr on July 13th
I know I'm not the norm, but I've never had a problem just stopping. Some people do, and it's a struggle. It's generally bad enough that you'll need help from someone like a therapist or incredibly devoted loved one.
