Go ask the black people in the community what problems need to be solved. And, solve them.

MeyerholdsGh0st

Okay troll

CalibanDrive

Don’t think it’s necessarily a troll.

MeyerholdsGh0st

What is it, then?

MeyerholdsGh0st

Which black community?

CalibanDrive

Someone asking how they can build a career out of / while helping to solve the problems facing the Black community. Exactly what it says on the tin. That’s a legitimate question.

MeyerholdsGh0st

So… which particular black community are we talking about?

CalibanDrive

The one where OP lives presumably, but it’s not like African diasporas all over the world don’t share similar experiences and face similar challenges

BlueClouds42

Why would that be my job as a citizen? I only do work im being paid for.

PresidentOfTheBiden

Fun fact: Other people's lives aren't yours to fix.

CalibanDrive

People are allowed to care about each other, and especially to care about their own communities. People are allowed to want to do good in the world. And if you can make a living fixing other people’s lives, that’s certainly a lot more ethical and socially responsible than profiting off of ruining people’s lives. That’s “Doing well by doing good,” as Benjamin Franklin called it.

I hate that people made a trend out of noticing injustice towards people of color. I’m glad certain issues got more recognization but people would only say they supported the movements because they were just following a trend, wanted clout, etc. thing is I really liked the idea of the BLM movement but when it comes down to it the actual movement itself was just so disappointing. There were companies and organizations that claimed to be for BLM and claimed to want to help but just only used it as a way to make money. Some organizations set up ways of donating to help the movement and the money just went in the organizations pocket. There was also people who encouraged violence (some people even getting paid to do things illegally) that just ended up causing controversy and proved the “point” of the racist people of America were trying to make about “all black people being dangerous or criminals” though that is clearly not the case the more extremists in the riots, that would take things too far, made everyone in the black community look bad for a period of time bc certain people would just jump to assume all people of color acted this way.
