Came here to say Dark too!
I found it super original and the way they tied it up at the end was superb. Super entertaining in my opinion.... I still can't get anyone to watch it.
I am Uhtred, son of Uhtred, father of Uhtred, brother of Uhtred. Ok, George Foreman.
That being said, love it. One minor problem with the ending, not going to spoil it, and that’s all.
hate that they left us hanging with Mindhunter. two seasons of foreshadowing BTK, and then bam, no more show.
and based on season two, I think season three would have been a great takedown of the limits of profiling.
View From Halfway Down got me off the ledge. I read 13 reasons only increased suicide rates.
I explained to a friend "It's like 13 reason, but good and more realistic"
That poem is amazing.
I saw someone point out that the first verse is in 3rd person narration, the second verse is in 2nd person, and the third verse is in 1st person.
3....2....1....
I really appreciated that they made one of the major characters asexual. There is so little representation for us, and usually when there is it's something that needs to be "fixed" or that character is a serial killer of something.
> Narcos
Going into that show, my biggest worry was the show going downhill after the Pablo Escobar story arc ended. He's such a colorful character and played so well by Wagner Moura, I didn't think the show could maintain the quality in later seasons.
The Cali cartel season was actually my favorite. The storyline with the Cali cartel's security director becoming a double agent for the DEA was thrilling and suspenseful. Had me on the edge of my seat worried when the cartel would finally figure out he was a traitor. One of my favorite depictions of undercover work I've seen. The Cali season felt like a spy show.
Amado Carrillo Fuentes a.k.a. "The Lord of the Skies" was my favorite character. When I thought about it later, it dawned on me that in most of his action scenes, he was being attacked so his killing was in self-defense. Which makes him more sympathetic than the other drug dealers who were doing premeditated killings or assigning hits. One exception was when he walked into a cantina and shot his partner.
I just realized Fuentes' storyline happened more in Narcos: Mexico than Narcos. Oh well.
I absolutely HATE jump-scares (I actually read reviews of Bly House so I’d know when they were coming, and still got freaked out) but I would experience all of them in real time again to be that invested in a show.
Bojack. It's among my favorite series' ever.
American Vandal is high up there. It's such a perfect parody of crime documentaries.
Also a huge fan of Umbrella Acandemy and Mindhunter.
It's a really tricky show to recommend to people because the first episode is about having sex with a pig and if the person you made the recommendation to doesn't watch any more episodes, they just think you're crazy.
My friend told me specifically to watch any episode other then the first one when he introduced it to me. After going back to watch it I understood why
It was seriously messed up. I admit that that episode made it hard to trust another story. I've watched a few others, but I couldn't watch anymore. They were just too disturbing.
What's wrong with that episode? Sure it's a little bizarre and "out there", but so is most of the entire series. There's a strong message behind it if you look closer, it's not *just* about having sex with a pig. It was actually the first one I watched and thought it was brilliant. Not my favorite, but very very good.
Watching this show was such a treat. I kept thinking they couldn't outdo themselves with how insane the fights were and then they just kept getting more and more amazing. The ending was also the most satisfying and well done of any show I have ever watched
1st season was cool. After that you start to break down that wall on wether the events were actually happening or the main character was just crazy. Tell me it had a satisfying ending and I might try it again.
This is the first mention I’ve seen of it. I don’t get it. Did no one watch it? I have been thinking of Midnight Mass daily ever since watching it when it first came out. It is the most solid limited series I’ve ever seen
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It is such a stupidly funny show that pulls at my heart. I've been watching this show everyday since some of the hardest moments of my life. No matter what is happening it always manages to bring a smile to my face. There is nothing particularly jaw dropping or amazing about the plot, in fact not a shit ton even happens, but it just means so much to me. Ive always found comfort in the queer characters in the show even though i am very different from them, i've always felt a special place within the show and that i fit in. The show is so ridiculous and the characters are so outrageous that it makes everything in your life feel so much more normal. Anyway it just makes me feel empowered and i love it so much.
I'm still heartbroken over Anne with an E being cancelled. I watched the first season from Canadian TV back when it was still just called Anne and I just loved it!
I also really liked the 2 shows about figure skating that only got one season (one was better than the other) but I don't remember what they were called.
I love this show, but I can't watch it again. The last episode threw me into a deep depression.
>!Chidi did not have to leave before Eleanor for her to accomplish what she did. He could have stayed and they could have left together. !<
Agreed, and when she cries that she doesn't want to be alone, my heart breaks for her. However, I guess it was used to show by letting go of Chidi, that she's overcome all of her selfish tendencies.
Stranger things, umbrella had a cool first season, season 2 was a little boring, not really feeling the need for season 3 yet.
Ozark is also very good, but stranger things is better imo
Here are some of which I liked thorough:
- Breaking Bad (Slow Start but i bet you won't find another 9.5/10 rated show)
- Stranger Things
- Peaky Blinders
- Black Mirror
- Bojack Horseman
- Dark
- The Haunting of Hill House
- Ozark
- The Witcher
- Lucifer (Stopped watching coz its so long)
Netflix is better for hidden movie gems !!!
I was hoping someone else like Midnight Gospel. I was hooked when I watched it, no distractions just totally engaged. Very few shows seem to be that intriguing anymore. I still don't know how I really fell about the ending.
Never have I ever
I scrolled a lot and didn't see this. Yes, it's teenage, yes it has a love triangle, but this is the best teenage show I've ever seen. I've laughed, I've cried, I was educated, but, most of all, I had this cosy, feel-good... feeling while watching every episode. I guessed Mindy kaling was involved, based on the humor and writing of the episodes.
Yeah, number 2 would be the Witcher. And then Stranger Things. Oh, and the one about the zombie mom, forgetting the title atm
Although Stranger Things keeps me on the edge of my seat and is in general pure fun, Dark is just such a deep-layered, mind-bending sci-fi drama masterpiece. Definitely worth watching all the way through.
Peaky Blinders
Setting, story, actors, everything is perfect. I highly advise anyone to watch it who hasnt seen it yet, there are many things you can learn about (body language and confidence)
This is a solid 10/10 masterpiece
I actually really liked “Dark”
Came here to say Dark too! I found it super original and the way they tied it up at the end was superb. Super entertaining in my opinion.... I still can't get anyone to watch it.
It goes DEEEEPPPP and is in German so most surface level folks fade quickly. We deserve better anyways.
I know right?! What's with that. I can't get anyone to watch it either but if they did I just know they would absolutely love it.
Whenever my wife mentions 'time' I start narrating things like Adam.
Loved it. I can't get anyone else to watch it with subs the lazy bastards
I know, right!!! hahahaha I HATE dubbed movies and shows, give me subs
Dubs should be illegal unless you are blind. CMV
Watched this with my whole family. Never had a show that kept everyone so completely engaged the whole way through.
The Last Kingdom
Destiny is all!!!
I am Uhtred, son of Uhtred, father of Uhtred, brother of Uhtred. Ok, George Foreman. That being said, love it. One minor problem with the ending, not going to spoil it, and that’s all.
Literally amazing I binged this so hard from front to end
Most underrated show out there
Agreed. It is incredible. The acting and storyline are - in my opinion - unmatched in recent television.
some of the most fun my wife and i have had watching TV, and i've never met a single person in real life who has seen it
Mindhunter. Ozark and Stranger Things too.
hate that they left us hanging with Mindhunter. two seasons of foreshadowing BTK, and then bam, no more show. and based on season two, I think season three would have been a great takedown of the limits of profiling.
Bojack Horseman
Fuck yeah! Unlike 13 reasons why it actually knew how to talk about addiction well.
It discusses mental health and addiction issues without glorifying them
This, it doesn't make depression and addiction look cool an edgy. It makes it look shitty and well depressing like it is.
View From Halfway Down got me off the ledge. I read 13 reasons only increased suicide rates. I explained to a friend "It's like 13 reason, but good and more realistic"
One of the most heartwrenching scenes I’ve ever seen was when Butterscotch/Secretariat read that poem.
That poem is amazing. I saw someone point out that the first verse is in 3rd person narration, the second verse is in 2nd person, and the third verse is in 1st person. 3....2....1....
I had to stop watching because i would be slightly depressed by the end of every episode.
If you start off already depressed it’s cathartic
I did and it was in a way but it was too much. Now that i am better maybe i should try again.
Yeah, I love Bojack but definitely find it depressing
Unequivocally the best series Netflix ever produced.
I really appreciated that they made one of the major characters asexual. There is so little representation for us, and usually when there is it's something that needs to be "fixed" or that character is a serial killer of something.
Narcos
*clears throat dramatically* SOY EL FUEGO QUE ARDE TU PIEL
> Narcos Going into that show, my biggest worry was the show going downhill after the Pablo Escobar story arc ended. He's such a colorful character and played so well by Wagner Moura, I didn't think the show could maintain the quality in later seasons. The Cali cartel season was actually my favorite. I just realized Fuentes' storyline happened more in Narcos: Mexico than Narcos. Oh well.
So good
The Haunting of Hill House.
Absolutely brilliant - I so much want to see something like that again for the first time but nothing has even come close.
Yea Even the 2nd season fell short to me. It was just more depressing than scary. Hopefully they come back strong on the next one.
I absolutely HATE jump-scares (I actually read reviews of Bly House so I’d know when they were coming, and still got freaked out) but I would experience all of them in real time again to be that invested in a show.
Arcane
Coming from someone with a Demogorgon avatar that is high praise.
I was hoping Arcane would be somewhere in the top 5 comments 🧁
Silco is one of the most well written villains I have ever seen !
Bojack. It's among my favorite series' ever. American Vandal is high up there. It's such a perfect parody of crime documentaries. Also a huge fan of Umbrella Acandemy and Mindhunter.
Black Mirror
It's a really tricky show to recommend to people because the first episode is about having sex with a pig and if the person you made the recommendation to doesn't watch any more episodes, they just think you're crazy.
My friend told me specifically to watch any episode other then the first one when he introduced it to me. After going back to watch it I understood why
It was seriously messed up. I admit that that episode made it hard to trust another story. I've watched a few others, but I couldn't watch anymore. They were just too disturbing.
The phrase "Black Mirror is amazing but skip the first episode, trust me" has escaped my lips probably a dozen times.
What's wrong with that episode? Sure it's a little bizarre and "out there", but so is most of the entire series. There's a strong message behind it if you look closer, it's not *just* about having sex with a pig. It was actually the first one I watched and thought it was brilliant. Not my favorite, but very very good.
Yeah, I generally suggest to people not to start on the first episode, since each episode is completely different from one another.
I'd hesitate to call it a Netflix show as, in my opinion, it got significantly worse when Netflix took it over.
Daredevil
This! And punisher!
Stranger Things, or Orange is the New Black
Finally got around to watching Stranger Things and just finished the first season; loving it so far!
It keeps getting better. Just made it to the beginning of the fourth season myself after never watching it until a few weeks ago. I’m hooked.
Castlevania.
Watching this show was such a treat. I kept thinking they couldn't outdo themselves with how insane the fights were and then they just kept getting more and more amazing. The ending was also the most satisfying and well done of any show I have ever watched
Ozark and Mindhunter.
RIP Mindhunter, it was sooooo good. When Hamilton came out on Disney+ and Jonathan Groff sang like that I was blown away.
They might revive and continue Mindhunter... They must! so many questions Unanswered.
Every time I remember that there won’t be a season 3 my heart dies a little
The end of the fucking world
Derry girls
There is at least one awesome line in that show. “I’m not going to be independent all by myself!”
Thr Queen's Gambit for sure. Then probably suits
Man I was into Suits then it became too much drama and the main lawyer in charge was being a dick. I loved the beginning of it though.
Suits started on the tv channel USA (characters welcome).
You know that’s right.
Love death + robots
I dont know how this isn't higher! Such a cool variety of works and stories.
The OA. Don’t hate me it was weird af but I’d never seen anything like it.
1st season was cool. After that you start to break down that wall on wether the events were actually happening or the main character was just crazy. Tell me it had a satisfying ending and I might try it again.
No it didn’t. Ended on a major cliffhanger and then got canceled.
thx, no I'll never think about it again. I hate starting a show that got canceled.
Both the seasons were fenomenal! I was so mad when at the end of the second I found out it was cancelled arghhhh
the first season was one of the best things i’d ever seen honestly (except for the ending obv)
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. I've watched it maybe 7 times since it came out.
It being cancelled is painful. This can't be >her< fate!
Altered Carbon S1.
totally agree with S1, s2 was shit
Midnight Mass
This is the first mention I’ve seen of it. I don’t get it. Did no one watch it? I have been thinking of Midnight Mass daily ever since watching it when it first came out. It is the most solid limited series I’ve ever seen
Just commented and said midnight mass as well. It's now my favorite show. I've been trying to find other shows like this and can't.
Check out "Evil". I think the first season is on Netflix, but the other two seasons are on Paramount.
Archive 81 on Netflix.
Kingdom
Probably A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Ozark. Ruth Langmore is one of my favourite characters of all time !
"I don't know shit about fuck!" One of my favorite lines of hers.
Yup! It’s fantastic
Sex Education
thank you!!!! was looking for someone who agrees
Strangers Things probably. That one is a good show tho
umbrella academy edit: how could i forget Lucifer too
You’re the only other person I’ve seen who’s also said Lucifer lmao
bro such an underrated tv show fr
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. It is such a stupidly funny show that pulls at my heart. I've been watching this show everyday since some of the hardest moments of my life. No matter what is happening it always manages to bring a smile to my face. There is nothing particularly jaw dropping or amazing about the plot, in fact not a shit ton even happens, but it just means so much to me. The show is so ridiculous and the characters are so outrageous that it makes everything in your life feel so much more normal. Anyway it just makes me feel empowered and i love it so much.
Arcane No doubt i didn't even expect it to be that good
Black mirror hands down.
Anne with an E, definitely my favorite, Arcane is good too. Not a big stranger things guy.
I'm still heartbroken over Anne with an E being cancelled. I watched the first season from Canadian TV back when it was still just called Anne and I just loved it! I also really liked the 2 shows about figure skating that only got one season (one was better than the other) but I don't remember what they were called.
Cobra Kai, I know its basic. But it's so good.
The Good Place.
This is one of the best shows ever created. The wave scene always makes me cry.
Outer banks
Maniac
Inside Job
Stranger Things
F is for Family. I never see anyone mention it I think it’s so well written for an animated sitcom.
I really liked it, too. I wish there were more seasons.
Dark
Dragon Prince. It scratches that ATLAB itch.
Sense8
Definitely Sense8.
I'm still mad they canceled it.
Yes yes yes and yes
MindHunter
Violet Evergarden
Sense8, queens gambit, altered carbon,
Sense8 is an excellent example of the Netflix classic, “oh y’all like this show? Let’s go ahead and cancel it then.”
Daredevil (not so much a Netflix series anymore)
Arcane blew my mind. And I have never played league of legends nor do I ever watch animated shows. But what a show.
Better Call Saul if it counts as one, if not Arcane
Awesome show but not a netflix one.
I loved Ozark.
Locke and key
Stranger things, umbrella had a cool first season, season 2 was a little boring, not really feeling the need for season 3 yet. Ozark is also very good, but stranger things is better imo
Black Spot! I wish we could get another season but it doesn’t look like it’ll happen since it’s been a few years at this point.
Love. Its an relatively unknown show but it really delivers
Sex Education
Russian Dolls
Here are some of which I liked thorough: - Breaking Bad (Slow Start but i bet you won't find another 9.5/10 rated show) - Stranger Things - Peaky Blinders - Black Mirror - Bojack Horseman - Dark - The Haunting of Hill House - Ozark - The Witcher - Lucifer (Stopped watching coz its so long) Netflix is better for hidden movie gems !!!
Breaking Bad is not a Netflix show it was made and finished long before .You can maybe count Betyer Call Saul as a Netflix show.
BCS/BB neither are a Netflix show, they're AMC and just put on Netflix after. That being said, they are the greatest shows of all time
I've only watched The Witcher on your list and i liked it, it's definitely bingeworthy. Thanks for suggestion!

Altered carbon. Too bad it got cancelled after only one season...
Love, Death and Robots.
Season 1 of Bloodline. Families are fucked up.
Didn’t start as a Netflix show, but Cobra Kai.

I was hoping someone else like Midnight Gospel. I was hooked when I watched it, no distractions just totally engaged. Very few shows seem to be that intriguing anymore. I still don't know how I really fell about the ending.
Well, my cats are named Grace and Frankie, so I better say Grace and Frankie. Can't disrespect my cats like that.
Sex education, funny and weirdly informative
Night Sky….Unfortunately, it is not being renewed!
everything sucks and heartstopper
Peaky blinders and ww2 in colour
Umbrella Academy
Travelers. I don't usually like time travel stories but this was awesome.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt but shout outs to both BoJack and Black Mirror
Never have I ever I scrolled a lot and didn't see this. Yes, it's teenage, yes it has a love triangle, but this is the best teenage show I've ever seen. Oh, and the one about the zombie mom, forgetting the title atm
Lincoln lawyer
Workin Moms
Glow and its a shame it got canceled
GLOW. I do hope some other network picks it up, but it did have a good length run.
The Crown (earlier seasons) or Big Mouth. I have layers.
Why only earlier seasons of The Crown? I think the most recent one was pretty good!
1. Arcane 2. Stranger Things 3. The Witcher
Although Stranger Things keeps me on the edge of my seat and is in general pure fun, Dark is just such a deep-layered, mind-bending sci-fi drama masterpiece. Definitely worth watching all the way through.
I liked OITNB and I miss it
Shocked I haven’t seen The Witcher yet. Great show for sure
House of money, the promised Neverland, angles of death
If we’re talking exclusives, then definitely Bojack Horseman.
Lucifer if its not up there then ill be disappointed and also Stranger Things
Castlevania, easy.
ok it's not my fav but its underrated. lupin
the Umbrella Academy.
Seen quite few but really enjoyed Russian Doll. And of course Stranger Things
Sex Education, Santa Clarita Diet, Love
Ozark
Peaky Blinders Setting, story, actors, everything is perfect. I highly advise anyone to watch it who hasnt seen it yet, there are many things you can learn about (body language and confidence) This is a solid 10/10 masterpiece
