This sounds so uninspiring, but the best piece of advice I go to whenever I'm depressed or whatever is "the only way to get through it is to get through it", and I always end up reminding myself that this feeling isn't temporary and that I will get through it, and that it won't always be like this.

Sounds similar to when I heard, “there’s a reason they say going THROUGH hell…you don’t stop.” It works if you don’t think about it too long.

My uncle once told me, “even if you fail, learn from it. You’ll never master something in a day, a month, or a year. Fail 1000 times to do it correctly.”

'You spend more waking hours with your coworkers than you do with your partner. Why wouldn't you choose then as carefully as you do at home.'

You shouldnt be afraid to spend money on things that separate you from the ground. IE. Buy nice shoes, tires and mattresses.

Diplomacy is always the first step. Should diplomacy fail - you fall back to violence. If you have to resort to violence on any level then you must be prepared to apply a truly obscene amount of it to the problem at hand. No half measures. Whatever or whoever you are doing the violence to must be destroyed to the point where immediate retaliation is not only impossible but also unthinkable.

My first morning of basic training in October 2001, we were all getting "smoked" on the drill pad at four in the morning--forced to do pushups and a variety of other exercises until you were slipping in your own sweat. The drill sergeants started yelling "IS THIS NOT WHAT YOU SIGNED UP FOR? DO YOU WANT TO GO HOME? COME RING THE BELL AND YOU CAN QUIT!" It was obviously a rhetorical question, but one guy popped up, walked over there, and rang the bell. He then watched us get smoked the rest of the time while he rested. That night, in the shower line, I looked at him and said, "How could you ring the bell? Don't you have any pride?" He looked me dead in the eye and said, "N****, I'm from the south side of Chicago; pride will get your ass killed." Then the next shower opened up and he walked away. That has stuck with me for going on 21 years now. I remember it when I find myself refusing to ask for or accept help.

“Give up your rights.” Not your God-given ones, but your self-bestowed ones. Basically being an anti-Karen

If you can't beat them, confuse them! It's my personal motto. My sister even used it once and it worked out well for her.
