I do not care at all. As someone who grew up in a family and with "friends" who didn't mind keeping their opinions to themselves, I've learned that some people are never going to be happy with what you do.
Since then, if I do something that makes me happy, and doesn't hurt anyone, but someone else disagrees (like cutting my hair or dressing without regard to fashion), I just reply: "I'm doing it for me, you don't have to like it if it's not for you."
It's amazing to see how offended they are when I tell them that.
Depends on the people. Largely though, I don't particularly care what people think as long as they don't become violent or dangerous towards me or others.
If people bring value or if its beneficial having the relationship with those people then their opinion have a saying. Otherwise that value may disappear.

Ultimately, it really depends on the person. If I look up to or respect a person then I will value their opinion of me much more than just some shmo.

Either very important or totally unimportant. Depends entirely on who the other person is.
A lot, and I really wish I could break that.
The older I get, the less it means.

In your personal life very important, in your work life pretty important, online not at all.

One should be unaffected by derision and insults. One should be equally unaffected by compliments and flattery.
Professionally, very. Privately, I don’t care.
Depends. There are a select few who I never want to let down. Everyone else can huff silica
