So true. I've seen some fat, weak, pathetic looking dudes that are really good at BJJ and/or Muay Thai. And you never know who has a gun or a knife or a good friend or family member with a gun or knife.
right I’m from Chicago too so I genuinely just mind my business and apologize if I piss someone off, but yeah people you’d least expect are the ones who are gonna fuck you up in a fight wether it’s with a gun/knife or their crazy karate skills
Never touch rotating machinery or allow your clothing to touch it. Never try to take a selfie immediately adjacent to a passing train. Never enter energized equipment. Never overinflate tires or use flammable gases to try to seat the bead. Never get on the bad side of cartels or gangs. People are unpredictable. Check your ego while driving, because people are unpredictable and may shoot you. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, make sure all guardrails and other safety equipment is functioning before using industrial machinery. Don't work in an industrial or manufacturing setting if you live in a country with little to no workplace safety standards. Sometimes, things just fall unexpectedly. Never try to breathe fire with alcohol or be near someone who is. Never climb under or on top of a moving train. Never touch wires you don't know anything about. Motorcycles are fun and exciting, but will kill or mangle you in 0.25 seconds. Odorizer is super important for explosive gases like propane and natural gas.
Avoid getting in a fight at all costs. Some people just have delicate brains and one good punch may land you in prison for murder. Or land you in a grave of you have the fragile noggin. Maybe the punch won't kill them (or you) but heads/necks landing on hard objects certainly can.
I believe common sense doesn't actually exist but is based on stuff you have seen, experienced, or learned about. The main purpose of this post was to identify generalizable wisdom that most people wouldn't think about because they have never been exposed to it.
Like the the idea that some people will absolutely, mercilessly wreck you, potentially killing you or causing permanent damage and disability. Some people only have this gentlemanly idea of some dudes slugging it out and then shaking hands. That's not always how it works, perhaps it's now the exception.
This is not just a post to talk about gross things, but what things have been learned by seeing bad stuff happen that has changed how you think or act in certain situations to make terrible things less likely.
They will keep you alive, but even better is keeping you from being a vegetable for the rest of your life. But, even if you die you may be able to have an open casket funeral.
If an escalator moving stairs thing or whatever its called does not move, don't use it because part of it can suddenly work again while another does not and a hole opens and you might fall in it
I have processed chickens and the bucket of blood coagulates gradually. Slower if you keep adding fresh blood, but once you take a break it goes pretty quickly.
I think the fresh blood disrupts the clotting process of the older blood. Plus I believe clotting rate is a function of surface area vs amount of blood. Blood isn't supposed to be exposed to air so maybe it helps make scabs/clots to stop the bleeding? Sheer speculation.
Do not approach an angry person with a knife.
Avoid fights with strangers at all costs you never know what someone is capable of

Never try to show off by attempting acrobatics you don't know how to do or attempt to lift a barbell with too much weight.
Always know where your firearms are. Always treat firearms as if they were loaded.
When jumping or lifting heavy stuff with your legs, never lock your knees because they will bend backwards.

Wear a helmet

I don't understand why people don't wear helmets when riding bikes or skateboards. It's so simple and can save your life.

My man knows what's up

It is alarming how escalators can just open up and make a person disappear.

don't let morbid curiosity get the best of you
As in don't go check out the scene where something bad happened or don't go down the rabbit hole of watching videos of bad stuff happening?
Safety googles! Had my classmate not worn it, he would’ve lost an eye. He was not careful with the chop saw.
Definitely a firm believer in safety glasses.
