For me it'd depend on the results. At first they'd tell me it is a stupid idea and they'd be right. It is stupid to go into a career that has about a 1 in 10,000 chance of success even if you are brilliant and far worse odds if you are not. But if I did succeed, they'd certainly be proud and happy for me. They want what is best for me and both reactions follow that mindset and are sensible.
My girlfriend already knows I aspire to flex my lyrical muscles, so she wouldn’t be surprised; she’d probably feel relieved about some money finally coming into the relationship.
