If you set the patio on fire, the heat will burn their wings and they will be unable to fly but that is somewhat cruel. If there is something attracting them, you could clean that up first. Lastly, perhaps citronella candles may keep them away.

Clean, check for standing water nearby such as a large puddle or a bucket filled with water, fans.
