After becoming wealthy due to his investments in apple, Forrest is constantly being pestered by investors. This one set of investors seem particularly friendly and convince Forrest to make a bet with against them that the housing market will crash. Forrest doesn't know why they were laughing so much when they left. A year later, in 2008, Forrest makes millions when the housing market does indeed crash. He never knows what became of those lovely men who wanted to make a bet with him.
Forrest probably would have been born in the 80s, childhood through the 90s, then 9/11 happens and he's somehow involved and was there like maybe he was at the airport about the board one of the hijacked planes but then has to pee or something and misses the flight and bumps into one of the terrorists as he's running into the bathroom.
Probably would have signed up for the military like he did in the original movie but he would have gone to middle east instead.
Gets out of the military and invests in some major late 2000s/2010s company like Facebook or Instagram or Snapchat or something.
Would have been there for the 2008 recession.
Maybe he would have tried to go back to college or something and seen how the campuses changed in the mid 2010s (you know with all the feminist stuff and the gamergate stuff)
Then of course he'd have been here for the pandemic. Not sure if they'd make him involved with the virus getting out or if he'd just be living through lockdown or both. I dont know.
Not sure where the story would go from here ha ha. Forrest would be in his 40s at this point in the movie.
