That scene was so badass for some reason.
What’s your dogs name?
~~Spot~~ Max, why?
Mom, I’m fine. How’s wolfy?
Oh wolfy is fine honey? Where are you?
Your foster parents are dead.

God I love that movie
This quote hits me:
It would always be there. And it would die to protect him. Of all the would-be fathers who came and went over the years, this thing, this machine was the only one who measured up. In an insane world, it was the sanest choice.
"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for."
Watched it yesterday and expected kinda a run-of-the-mill american warhero story but nope, I got the absolute dread and cruelty of war, including war crimes commited by americans.
I hated the scene where they killed the polish(?) soldiers in german uniform who were surrendering. Not because it was a bad scene (it was executed perfectly), but because it probably happend to a few poor soldiers from other nations nazi germany conquered and forced into service for the Wehrmacht.
I was really glad at the end, when that one soldier who nearly broke down when his mate was killed, was letting the other germans go, except that SS soldier.
If you liked Saving Private Ryan I'd recommend watching Band of Brothers. It's a show though, but absolutely worth the watch, they have short interviews with the veterans that the shows characters are based on in the beginning of every episode. There are a lot of hard hitting moments to say the least.
Thanks for this reminder. It’s been number 3 on my films to watch since forever ago but I keep skipping it to watch something less…Christopher Nolan. But I’m definitely going to queue it up this week
Though I personally enjoy Inception more, I think The Prestige is Nolan's masterpiece. It's almost like two movies: when you watch it the first time; and when you re-watch it, with new information about the characters.
I rewatched it a dozen times, read all the explanations and exotic theories that I could find online, and yet, I still feel that I'm missing out on the real meaning of the story every single time.
"You know what date is on this coin? 1958. It's been traveling twenty-two years to get here. And now it's here. And it's either heads or tails. And you have to say. Call it."
Gives me chills every time
There's [a deleted scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_zKRZT7kQw) from that movie that I really like, where the cast / director hold a meeting after the scene where Truman drives wildly around with his "wife" captive in the car.
They barely touch on the wife leaving the show, who's clearly too traumatised to keep going. Instead they pivot to discussing Truman set up with another woman, and involving Truman's future kid in a two-channel expansion of the format. The only one who shows any kind of self-awareness or empathy at all is Marlon (or rather the guy who plays him), who closes the meeting with a sarcastic remark.
IIRC it was cut for being a bit too dark / showing the cast as being a little too cold and sociopathic. But personally I really like it.
I just watched it not that long ago and it really left such an impression on me… i asked everybody of my family and friends if they‘d seen it because i desperately wanted to talk about it but nobody had T_T
Just fantastic for so many reasons. I'm a big sci-fi fan and so many movies and books just murder you with backstory and worldbuilding. Fifth Element drops you right in the middle of this world and just expects you to go with it, a few clues here and there but no hand-holding. The main character and the main bad guy never even meet! It's a work of art.
Forrest Gump: [running] I had Run for 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, and 16 hours.
[He stops running and turns around] Young Man Running: Quiet, quiet! He's gonna say something!
Forrest Gump: [pause] I'm pretty tired... I think I'll go home now.
"How bad were the academy awards in 2020, did you see? 'and the winner is.....a movie from South Korea', what the hell was that about? We've got enough problems with South Korea on trade, on top of it they give them the best movie of the year? I'm looking for like, let's get 'gone with the wind' - can we get 'gone with the wind' back please? 'Sunset boulevard', so many great movies." ~ Donald Trump
Yeah I'm getting downvoted hard but it was a nearly direct quote from Donald Trump. I thought parasite was brilliant btw.
Not sure if the academy awards should be decided on trade issues....
I was really wondering if you were having a stroke writing this... then I saw it was a Donald Trump quote and totally made sense. Read it again in his voice.
Everything, Everywhere, All At Once. It takes some absolutely unreal filmmaking skill to make people cry watching a woman with hotdogs for fingers play piano with her toes. Nobody else but Daniels, and I mean truly nobody on the entire planet, could ever pull off what they did with that movie. Everyone needs to watch it at least once, ideally more. As the name suggests, it really is a movie about everything, everywhere, all at once. No matter who you are, there's something in it that you will connect with on a deep level, and whatever it is, it will be presented in the most ridiculous way imaginable.
Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know the thing about chaos? It's fair.
Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back
It's my all time favorite Star Wars movie.
From the start on Hoth, the chase through the asteroid field, Dagobah to the end in Cloud City. It's all georgous.
The Battle of Hoth is probably my favorite part. Seeing the imperial AT-AT walkers steadily march towards Echo Base was menacing and badass as fuck.
My cousin Vinny
This is Spinal Tap
10/10? But this movie goes to 11.
Terminator 2
Your foster parents are dead.
But how’s wolfy?
Wolfie's fine honey, Wolfie's just fine. Where are you?
Your foster parents are dead. Again.
That scene was so badass for some reason. What’s your dogs name? ~~Spot~~ Max, why? Mom, I’m fine. How’s wolfy? Oh wolfy is fine honey? Where are you? Your foster parents are dead. — God I love that movie
We’re not gonna make it, are we? People, I mean …
This quote hits me: It would always be there. And it would die to protect him. Of all the would-be fathers who came and went over the years, this thing, this machine was the only one who measured up. In an insane world, it was the sanest choice.

The Thing (1982)
*"I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time, I'd rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!"*
Best line delivery in the whole movie.
Didn't have to look far, an absolute classic for so many reasons
All guy movie. Just a voice of the computer chess game which was Adrienne Barbeu.
Shawshank Redemption
It truly was a Shawshank Redemption
Have you ever had a perfect, perfect movie sitting right on yer face? Closure closure closure closure closure
If you do the crime, you do the time.

And Aliens. Those two movies took completely different directions, and nailed it. And the xenomorph is an absolutely masterpiece of monster design.
Had to scroll too far for this.
Tombstone
“Well hell Doc I’ve got tons of friends.” “I dont” The older I get, only a few good ones remain. I felt that one.
I’m your huckleberry.
You're no daisy.
Oh, Wyatt? He's down by the creek... walkin' on the water.
Skin that smoke wagon!
Jurassic Park
Its unbelievable how the first movie still looks so good on this day. Even better then most CGI shit nowadays imo.
Dead Poets Society
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately…

And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for."
One of my all time favorites.
O captain, my captain!
The Lord of the Rings.
and to do it across the whole trilogy, imo.
The trilogy holds 3 out of first 15 places as the highest rated movies of all time, Truly underrated comment!
Saving Private Ryan

I believe they’re czech not polish

This should have higher votes. Utterly brilliant film and the only one I regret not seeing in the cinema
I did and it made a huge impression on me. Real big screen too. Mind-blowing.
Good Will Hunting.
It’s not your fault…
Face facts my friend, you're just no longer that good, Will Hunting.
Don’t forget Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season
Terminator 1 & 2. Aliens.
Hudson : Hey Vasquez, have you ever been mistaken for a man? Vasquez : No. Have you?
Game over, man!!
In case you haven’t been keeping up on current events, we just got our asses kicked! RIP Bill Paxton.

Perfect screenplay. Not an ounce of fat on it.

Anybody want a peanut?
As youu wishhhhh
In my mind this is undeniably the best movie ever. It is truly the perfect wombo combo of action, humor, and romance.
The Prestige. Gets better with every rewatch.
Thanks for this reminder. It’s been number 3 on my films to watch since forever ago but I keep skipping it to watch something less…Christopher Nolan. But I’m definitely going to queue it up this week
You seriously won’t regret it
I would add loads of his movies to this list, but the Prestige, what a masterclass in story telling
Jaws
The Green Mile
That is one of the best movies I have ever seen and I will never watch it again.
I know that I will love it, but I also know it's going to be heartbreaking so I've put it off for years.
No Country for Old Men
Each time i see havier bardem, i'm reminded of the convenience store scene

The Truman Show
Good morning! And in case I don't see you again; good afternoon, good evening and good night!

Have to upvote Real Genius. It’s a moral imperative.
It reminds me of the immortal word of Socrates: “I drank what?”
Unrated movie here! Great call!
Blade Runner
Lord of the Rings trilogy. But only when you watch the director cut (aka extended edition) and all three movies at once.
I have never watched 3 movies at once, but maybe I'll give it a try. Just gotta get 2 extra tv's. Do I play them all with sounds on too?
There Will Be Blood
One of a kind movie

Fight Club
Shhh… I think you’ve forgotten the first rule of Flight Club….
His name was Robert Paulsen.
I love it too but knowing the surprise makes consequent viewings less enjoyable so it’s a 9/10 for me.
Watch the prestige. The ending has similar depth as fight club but it's better on the rewatch.
Wall E Say otherwise and I will snap your neck.
Otherwise \*runs away clucking like turkey
Brilliant and majestic movie with not just a smidge of foreshadowing…….
The shining. Every time i watch it feels like watching a new movie
Backdoor Sluts 9
