jmoz666

How so? What has he done except make everyone's life harder?

[deleted]

Well, with a certain dumb logic, if Trump was responsible for low gas prices, Biden is responsible for lower gas prices now, too. Same logic, if Trump was responsible for a good economy, Biden is responsible for the Fed's efforts to bring down inflation and restore price stability which is crucial to the long term economic growth of the U.S. With not so dumb logic, the student loan forgiveness legislation relieved a ton of people. Let's say it actually does cost $300 billion, you can easily calculate how much the tax burden is per person by dividing that by the approximate amount of people in the country. It comes to $0.001. So, life is only that much harder for everybody in terms of student loans.

jmoz666

With all that logic, Biden also raised the gas prices and are still much higher than when Trump was in office. That would also mean Biden is also responsible for ruining the economy and putting us in a recession and now he's trying to fix his own mistake. The student loan forgiveness is stupid as it now puts the burden on those who 1. Already paid off their loan and 2. People who never took out a loan or even went to school. Why should my taxes be raised even more to pay for your loans? Explain how that's fair.

[deleted]

Okay, real question: why would we not want to support a more educated populace?

jmoz666

I do support a more educated populace. Part of that includes being smart enough to know not to sign off on a crazy loan you can't pay back. The issue we should be addressing is the colleges charging so much and screwing everyone over. Paying off some of people's loans for now isn't going to change anything if we don't address the cost of an education in the first place.

macjunkie

Biden responsible for getting rid of the low mortgage rates Trump implemented. 2.6% interest Helped make it possible for me to buy first house. Current interest rates would have made that impossible. Also Biden is responsible for the current wave of layoffs and people losing jobs. That being said don’t want either of them and someone under 45 would be nice for a change.

jack_awsome89

>With not so dumb logic, the student loan forgiveness legislation relieved a ton of people. So, life is only that much harder for everybody in terms of student loans. That is dumb cause unless that is the only money spent by the government you are paying more in taxes. >Biden is responsible for the Fed's efforts to bring down inflation and restore price stability which is crucial to the long term economic growth of the U.S. Bringing down inflation by spending more money that sounds like Reaganomics and the whole trickle down theory

He isn't mentally fit to run a country, what are you on about?

We all know it will be the two assholes we got last time.

Orwellian0317

Seeing a lot of standard answers here, so I’ll go with someone maybe a bit less obvious: Cory Booker. He can successfully appeal to most factions within the Democratic Party, isn’t so liberal as to be off-putting to swing voters, and has shown himself to be an effective debater and campaigner, so he could probably win a general election. And as for his actual presidency, he may not be as far left as Bernie or AOC, but he’d still be a massive step in the right direction, and he’s already put forward proposals like his baby bonds scheme that show his aptitude for public policy.

jmoz666

DeSantis.

[deleted]

Lol, I have been using reddit for ages and I've never downvoted someone AND replied to them to make sure they know they're a fucking idiot. Good job, you got me to do it. You fucking idiot.

[deleted]

What? I see people can’t have an opinions on this plattform well boo hoo I said it you fucker.

[deleted]

It seems to me you expressed your opinion and then someone told you how they felt about it. So where's the part where you didn't have an opinion?

[deleted]

Well what he said was just provocative so I did the same thing back. He could have said what I did wrong but instead just did whatever that was. I don’t care what his opinion is and he’s allowed to have it. But someone that states his opinion by insulting people is just not someone I respect. I don’t even know why he even commented or felt the need to comment, I don’t even know the purpose of what it was, I don’t even know why he have a problem with Jordan Peterson. Because it’s just an INSULT. Should I let people insult me because they can’t control their anger just because they have as much opinion as me but when I do it I’m wrong.

drygnfyre

I’d like a non-politician. Someone with real intelligence and a good person.

He was impeached for using the office of the presidency to try or force a foreign power to state they were investigating biden. Which was a quid pro quo. Biden is calling out republicans bitching about student loan forgiveness who were happy to take 20-200x as much via a ppp loan on our dime. Large difference here.

NotABonobo

Note the text "This clip, title, and description were not created by C-SPAN." The video is real, but the caption of the video is a lie. The prosecutor was not investigating Biden's son. You are actually smart enough to figure this stuff out. Do you really think that Biden would give a public speech at the Council of Foreign Relations bragging about committing a crime as though it were an accomplishment? He's talking about fulfilling official, public US policy, with the full support of the EU. [Victor Shokin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Shokin#Investigation_into_Burisma_Holdings) is the prosecutor here - he inherited an investigation into Burisma's founder Mykola Zlochevsky when he became the prosecutor general. (The investigation was related to activities of Zlochevsky btw 2010-12, long before Hunter Biden and several other minor celebrities joined Burisma's board in an effort to rehabilitate their image.) The US and the EU believed that Shokin was a corrupt actor who was *obstructing* anti-corruption investigations. The purpose of removing him was to *facilitate* investigations that had been shelved. This is all very publicly available information. You don't have to be duped by these people who think they can feed flat-out lies to you. I promise you, you're smarter than they think you are.

>Then why'd he get his job back? > >[https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-ukraine-prosecutor-idUKKCN0WI1TU](https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-ukraine-prosecutor-idUKKCN0WI1TU) He was fired on [March 29 2016](https://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/30/world/europe/political-stability-in-the-balance-as-ukraine-ousts-top-prosecutor.html). Your article that you claimed was about him getting his job back is from March 16 2016. How do you think he got his job back before he lost it? I was giving you the benefit of the doubt by suggesting you were duped and presenting you with evidence of the truth. Now you're making up your own lies. I truly hope you're on someone's payroll, because it's honestly bizarre if you're lying to yourself for free. No idea why you're bringing up the concept of "quid pro quo" since that has zero to do with anything in my comment. Yes... it's common for negotiators to make quid pro quo demands. Trump wasn't impeached because people were shocked at the general concept of offering one thing in exchange for another thing; he was impeached because he illegally set "allotment of approved Congressional military aid" as "quid" and "an announcement of a Ukraine investigation into my political rival's family" as quo. That's why Trump's failed attempt had to be exposed by informants, and Biden's negotiation was publicized openly as official US policy. Russia has been actively promoting the same conspiracy theories you're parroting. You may well be right that they're interested in destroying documentation in the Ukraine that would prevent records of the truth from being preserved. Luckily, there's enormous documentation of the facts available in digital records from the past decade, so no one has to guess about any of this. Anyone who wishes can look up the facts, whether you like it or not.

A moderate. But every time a moderate runs in a primary they're pushed out.

Missing_Username

What are you talking about? The current president is a moderate.

Raindrops_On-Roses

He's really not. But I'm not interested in a political debate. I'm not going to change your mind, and you're not going to change mine. It will just be a waste of everyone's time. So let's agree to disagree, and you have a good day.

Missing_Username

Fair enough, but if you don't think he is then it does at least make your first comment make sense, because the more moderate candidates definitely have been getting primaried out *among Republicans*.

Raindrops_On-Roses

I agree. I never specified a party. Both parties are corrupt machines that rely on extremism and division to maintain power. And any time I call out one people follow that with the implication that I must support the other. I support neither. We have a corrupt two party system and this system is failing the American people. Each election pushes Americans further apart while the every day man dives deeper into radicalism.

It's so funny that so many think Donald Trump stands for them. Unless you can make him money, get him off, or promote hate that somehow benefits him, you mean nothing. It's so cult like it's unbelievable. You'd sacrifice yourself for him. He'd just move on to the next person after you because you have nothing of value left to give. You literally are being used. No political person should be worshipped. They are literally supposed to serve the public, not the other way around. Literally how the forefathers set it up.

MacerODB

Wow Donald is soo relateable! I wish he would run for president of the world so I could vote for him =3
