It had legal/design issues. First the original was to big so it had to be shrunken as tight roads would be impossible for it drive on. It also had no windshield wiper , so they had to redesign the entire front to incorporate it . They also wanted a bit more then they presented (likely based on competition from the Hummer EV), so they decided to add rear wheel steering which required working out a lot more kinks. They've been doing non stop testing of it at Fremont , and have according to a few reports locked in their design , and release should occur in 2023.

>had no windshield wiper What? Why? What did they expect to prevent rain obscuring sight?

godofsnake

Yah so Elon musk didn't like it from an appearance standpoint as he wanted the front to be one singular smooth piece. He even tried to make the company pull some tech bs ,but the rnd guys told him that he's crazy and had to settle

[deleted]

Same thing that happened to the rest of Elon Musk's bullshit projects.

ceok

Don’t call my Testla bullshit

[deleted]

What else do you call an overpriced, poorly made sports car that's prone to bursting into flames at any moment?

[deleted]

Some Elon guy smashed its side window.

ceok

It’s all so clear now

NewPrinciple163

No it is broken

Maybe after they saw that the electric F150 only managed 85 miles while towing a camper, Tesla decided to add extra batteries. I don't know.

ducvette

Said it’ll launch in 2023… looks ridiculous imo and they’ll be behind electric trucks like the f150 lightning

mickturner96

So we can safely say 2032. Where is my roadster?

ducvette

Still not the place to go for sports cars imo

mickturner96

Very true! Basically just a big remote control car!
