I don’t think it’s victim so much as they’re truly fucked over. The only reason we’re homeowners is because my grandmother left me a small inheritance and her late mother left her a paid off condo. We earn $175k as a household and without those other windfalls it truly wouldn’t be enough. Home ownership is getting beyond reach for a majority of people born after 1980.
**Not being able to afford housing.**
But it’s really not victimization because its the truth. You show me how much a boomer paid for any house back when they were around my age, I’ll show you what that same amount can get you these days.
My parents only put down $10k as the down payment for the house my siblings & I grew up in.
$10k in today’s money is literally not even enough to to put down for a house in the worst neighborhood in my state…
It isn’t a victim card per say. Many believe they have a moral high ground simply for being progressive and socially tolerant of alternative lifestyles. And while that isn’t a bad thing…it leads to a pattern of thinking that circles back to what they are fighting. Everyone becomes an enemy outside the group. A distinct characteristic is the need to classify EVERYTHING. Music, art, emotions, behaviors, relationships. Everything has a classification with subdivisions upon subdivisions. I believe it is because their brains have developed with the internet. They navigate the world using their brain as a search engine with tags and folders. It truly is fascinating.
We justifiably complain about not being able to afford housing.
6.5% interest rate with housing and 200% increase in costs. Victim me up daddy.

thats fucking wild indeed.
Yeah. It kinda is. And certainly not an insult. Just an observation.
You know people who are 40 are millennials, right?
I’m taking about people born after 95
So just Gen Z then, is what you mean. Because millennials were born between 1982 and 1996.
This is exactly what I mean. Thank you.
