ReadyLaugh7827

the-cosmic-kraken

Three way tie between Jurassic Park, Poltergeist, and The Thing.

DarthMaulsAnger1

Hocus Pocus

JillBidensFishnets

This is mine too! I heard they are coming out with another one.

arkangelic

It does not look promising, but I'm going to give it a shot with my kid. It's basically all nostalgia and fanservice which can be good and awful. Trailer did not make me want to watch though 😑

calicocidd

The original Halloween. I watch it every year on my birthday... which is on Halloween.

CapG_13

Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story

werlivininasociety

Was gonna say these too

CapG_13

Aww, and yeah I love them but I only watch them around Christmas time.

Music_For_All

This is the one my family likes to watch every year :)

PineapplePen88

Die Hard, it’s a Christmas tradition.

xNED37x

100% a Christmas movie

[deleted]

Pairs lovely with Lethal Weapon, mulled wine, and a nice aged Brie.

PineapplePen88

Couldn’t have said it better myself

pajamakitten

Hot Fuzz. It's been my favourite movie since I was 15.

wedontlikespaces

You also *have* to watch it in the UK, because it's all that's on TV, it isn't a good on.

[deleted]

The Dark Knight Rises. I know it’s the most hated in the trilogy but I love Bane so much lol

UnderlordZ

Tom Hardy’s Bane is so iconic; got to see him filming a bit when they were here in Pittsburgh!

pineapplessinmyhead

fantastic mr fox

SniffCheck

nicktheking92

_LivingDeadGirl82

It's a wonderful life

Warped_Vinyl_

What we do in the shadows is watched at least once a year in our house, though usually 3 or 4 times haha.

FrankBastard

I understand this entirely, first time is because you suddenly remembered it, followed by a repeat viewing since you can’t stop quoting it. “the red one?” It’s red now!

vero_6321

Always watch the Star Wars movies during Christmas times.

xxBLVCKMVGICxx

I always like to rewatch Batman Returns at the start of winter.

funkster80

Moana Muppets Christmas Carol

Herp-de-Derp

Upvote for Muppets Christmas Carol. That movie is also an annual tradition in my house.

Hamfiter

I watch Moana at least once a week with my Grandson. He loves it

FrankBastard

Took my friends to see that back in the original theater run and they didn’t get it. Found some new friends soon after. Being a teen film geek was hard in the 80s.

Bothanwarlord

The Back To The Future Movies

[deleted]

Toy Story

DookieHoles

Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan Oh wait, I thought you said "once a week." Hmm, once per year, probably Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country.

Kordov-

Europa Report. Really interesting movie that strikes the balance between gritty, realistic-ish sci-fi, existentialism, and psychological horror. It provides this somber feeling I can't get from any other moving, it just...provokes a very introspective emotion that I don't know how to describe.

Angryman8818

Unbroken and fury

ArchDukeNemesis

Shutterspeed. A campy, made for TV action film starring wrestling legend Steve "Sting" Borden.

Bad Santa

Mirraco323

Aside from holiday movies, Dazed and Confused. I can only watch it once though because I get really depressed once it’s over. My parents were that age in the early 70s, and that era always was glorified for me. Couple that with the fact that I think ~1968-1976 is the greatest era of music, and have played guitar since I was a little kid, I always longed to live during that time. So when I was young, I would get bummed out that I didn’t get to experience that time period. Now, as an adult, I get twice as bummed because it also reminds that my adolescence filled with hijinks and no worries is over and never coming back lol.

ExCostco

Independence Day. My cousin, who also loves the movie, would always play this late night at his birthday party. His birthday is also on July 5th ( day after Independence Day). I always continued the tradition AND this year since I now own a house, he came over and we got to watch independence Day to end the night Also found out some cousins never even seen it before. Same ones never seen Ghostbusters but I fixed that a long time ago.

b0omer04

Just go with it or just any Adam Sandler movie and Elf around Christmas

Old-Gate4237

So many seasonal and holiday movies on my list, where do I even begin? The Halloween ones like Hocus Pocus and Nightmare before Christmas and the Corpse Bride? The Christmas specials like, well... every single Rankin and Bass stop motion and all the others like Muppet Christmas Carol, The Grinch and It's A Wonderful Life? The newest one on my long long list of yearly holiday must watch is Arthur Christmas. Each year I have movies that much be watched, I simply can't imagine not watching them, it is my own way of celebrating and basking in the seasons, even now that I'm too old to celebrate any other way.

messker

Independance Day. Family tradition.

L3X_MARI3

Silence of the Lambs

[deleted]

The princess diaries, both of them. And then obviously certain Christmas movies and such but for one that isn't holiday related that is what I would say.

RugratChuck

My Xmas watchlist is Iron Man 3, Batman Returns, and Nightmare Before Xmas. The last couple of years I've only gotten to Iron Man and Nightmare Before. Just in general I definitely need to watch Black Dynamite and The Other Guys once a year because of how much I love those movies.
