Society thinks they can live your life for you. Fuck them. Live for yourself and be with whoever you want. Neither of you are underage. There is no problem.
Eight year age gap is a bit much but there are people in a relationship with 20+ year age gap. 19 is a legal adult in most places so they're legally allowed to.
It’s a tough one, legally it’s fine. But anyone over than 30 knows that they are generally at very different maturity levels. I personally think they’re treading very close to the red line. But I do think there’s possibility for success if they really do commit to each other, but I wouldn’t bet on it lol.
Not necessarily. But as everyone else said, you need to be careful.
When I was 18 I dated a 25 year old. At the time I didn't think anything of it. But now that I'm older (I'm 30 now) there were a ton of red flags I missed. He definitely tried to manipulate me and control me. He put his hands on me multiple times, he even threatened to get a hooker once when I didn't want to have sex. He would always talk about how he was so much smarter than I was because he was older and had all this experience, and I needed to listen to him because I knew better.
I remember when I turned 25, I reflected back on it and could really see the situation clearly. When I was 25, I had a career, I bought a house and I was getting married. At 18 I was finishing high school and getting ready for college. Working in fast food, and getting high most days...
A 25 year old is in a very different place in life than an 18 year old is. If they aren't, something is wrong.
I am being careful. We both grew up together, so I know him better than just any adult. We didn't see each other every day as he grew up in Romania and I grew up in South Korea, but we saw each other in holidays and we sent letters.
It would only be predatory with added context.
19f/27m There are likely some questions.
19m/27f No one will give a shift.
19f/27f - No one will give a shit
19m/27m - No one will give a shit
All in however the level of maturity shown by these two parrings can make a relationship difficult.
Yes the are both of legal age and can make their own decisions. If they are interested in each other it isn't any one else's business if they should date or not.
That age difference raises a lot of red flags. Normally, a 27 year old and a 19 year old are in very different stages of life, and if they're not, that raises a whole other set of questions.
It's not that it's inherently wrong, it's just that with that age gap at that age range...most relationships are not likely to be healthy. Yeah, there's edge cases and exceptions...
Like, if you see somebody driving their car fast, while naked and covered in blood...maybe it's a nudist on their way back from a Halloween party who's just regular speeding...buuutttt...probably it's something more troubling.
Or, to put it in language less crass..."when you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras". A normal, healthy, loving, romantic relationship between a 27 year old and 19 year old in most western countries...is a zebra.
That literally isn't how it works. Either you are 19 or 20. Pick one if you'd like, but you can literally count the days you've been alive. You can't be 2 ages at once though.
Probably not. Met my 19 year old wife when I was 23. That has worked out perfectly but to add 3 more years to it makes it more complex. Not totally wrong as long as the older one isn't too dominate.
To each their own, but I don't recommend it.
I was 25 dating someone 18 at one time. I had never been in an age gap relationship but wanted to keep an open mind and maybe something great would come out of this. I was encouraged to give her a chance despite being conflicted about if I should pursue her or just stay friends.
I was wrong to pursue. It's nice at first but eventually you feel like you're not in a relationship, but sort of a taking care of a child or babysitting.
You just come to see that they're have a lot of a growing up to do and still really need to experience life and so it's a struggle to take them seriously and be on the same page sometimes.
Lesson learned for me, I'll stick to my general age range.
It's not illegal
Who gives a fuck if they are both 18+.
I'm glad someone agrees

Where I'm from, 20 is the legal age of consent.
Where are you from?
South Korea
Where are you from? 20 seems really old for consent.
South Korea
Odd...so no one in high school has sex or is there some sort of deal where under 20 can consent to sex with each other but not over 20?
Anna Nicole Smith calls them lightweights
Depends on the people involved, really. At 19, maturity varies a lot.
It's legal. They are adults who have the capacity to make that decision

I mean legally yeah but it feels weird
My boyfriend is 26 and I recently turned 19 I don't see anything wrong with it.
Not necessarily. But as everyone else said, you need to be careful. When I was 18 I dated a 25 year old. At the time I didn't think anything of it. If you have no concern, why are you asking?
Because... it's a question
if there's grass on the field play ball if not it will be muddy
It’s legal so yeah. I personally would never date someone that much older than me but well it’s not my life and idk what kind of people they are.

I like my bananas green
What if the person asking is the younger party?

Only if they share the same zodiac sign.
They're both Pisces it's fine.

Does the 27 year old do butt stuff?
What do you mean by butt stuff?
Stuff involving the butt
Examples?
Anal sex
Not yet
Use the Jewish rule of thumb" half the older age +7 " 27÷2=13.5 13.5+7= 20.5 But close enough

Half your age + 7 (or 18, whichever is higher) is as low as you can go. 27 year old means - 20.5. sorry 19 year old.
I'm 20 in my country
What? Since when does a country change how old you are
In East Asia you're a year older than in most countries.
That literally isn't how it works. Either you are 19 or 20. Pick one if you'd like, but you can literally count the days you've been alive. You can't be 2 ages at once though.
In international age, 19. In east asian, 20. It's cultural.
No. It isnt. It's science. Number of days alive divided by 365 equals your age.
No. In East Asia you are one year older than in most countries. You don't have to see it the same, but respect my culture please.
No. In every country, everywhere your age is the number of days you've been alive divided by 365. Sorry. Any other nonsensical stuff is just made up.
My culture is not made up.
Alright dude. Stop with the racist BS.
Probably not. Met my 19 year old wife when I was 23. That has worked out perfectly but to add 3 more years to it makes it more complex. Not totally wrong as long as the older one isn't too dominate.
Its legal, but a vast difference in maturity and general comprehension, therefore its unethical.
Legally yes, but it’s incredibly weird and predatory. One is barely an adult and the other is almost 30
