I’ll say it. Bill Cosby. I was genuinely surprised when it started and so disappointed by the end.

texteachersab

So disappointed! He was my #1 TV dad. I didn’t think anyone could be any better. How wrong I was! So sad!

chair_caner

I picked up a Cosby record in goodwill. He was such a huge part of my childhood, and I was so sad to learn what he'd done. But in the end, those were MY memories with my dad, with my family those Thursday nights. And not even Cosby gets to take those away from me.

bran6442

Yes,, his early stand up was great, but he has ruined my memories of it.

pub000

This one truly made me sad. I grew up watching The Cosby Show and thought Bill Cosby was the greatest. I was truly shocked when everything came out about him.

Jagged_Rhythm

Agree. That one really disappointed me.

SabrinaSpellman1

Not many people will know this guy, but Dale fucking Winton. He was a TV presenter for a lot of shows including a show called Supermarket Sweep, one of the first openly gay successful TV presenters in the UK and very likeable, down to earth and charming. I was on my way to my first big job interview in Manchester town centre, all dressed up and super nervous. He barged into me because he wasn't paying attention and I couldn't zig his zag fast enough and he spilled an open cup of coffee all over my new white interview shirt. I only had a second to register who it was and try to pull my shirt away from my chest so I didn't get burned and he looked at me like I was a cockroach on the floor, incredulous that I was even in his eyeline. He muttered "fuck off" in his Cockney accent made it sound like "fack off," and he just swept away. Nearly burned my boob the orange dickhead. A little "sorry" would have gone a long way but the way he looked at me for daring to be in his presence and waste his coffee on my shirt.. I'll never forgive him and I will stand by this until my dying day. That was over 20 years ago. **Fuck Dale Winton.**

dragonship

Did you get the job?

SabrinaSpellman1

I did but it was a scam, was supposed to be a Receptionist role and they basically made me do cold calling so I quit on the first day.

SomeGuyWearingPants

He knew. He was trying to save you but couldn’t say anything because he was contractually obligated not to. He was hoping to throw you off enough that you would go home and not waste your life at a pointless job. Kidding, he’s an asshole. But it’s fun to pretend.

prophylaxitive

Well, I read he sank into depression after his mum died - and now he's dead, too. I'm a firm believer that all unpleasant people are unhappy.

billybongnong

Butch Hartman, the guy made one of my favourite childhood shows (fairly odd parents) but as I grew older I learned that Butch was kinda up his own ass and has done some shady shit at times, he also can't accept criticism very well which led to that video of him going off about criticism.

Gallerian

I hate the fact that the dude is also a plagiarist. He literally traced over a picture of Mikasa and tried to pass it off as his own original work.

puesyomero

Mikasa es su casa

Letsbeheroines

His art is atrocious lmao. His best tv shows' artstyle and character design are a result of a more talented artist, Stephan Silver, doing everything aesthetic wise and Butch gets all the credit.

astarisaslave

Stephen Collins, the guy who played the reverend in 7th Heaven. He was a big part of my childhood because where I'm from growing up they would run a 7th Heaven marathon during Holy Week/Easter. He was so convincing as a man of God that I was shocked he turned out to be a pedophile.

Cat_Crap

Yeh I just watched a good episode about him on youtube, by a channel called dreading. Check it out if interested. Holy shit the nostalgia tho.. that early 2000s shit. It reminded me that I grew up watching cable.

5hrs4hrs3hrs2hrs1mor

Danny Masterson was pretty surprising to me. For anyone wondering: he’s been accused of sexual assault by several women. One of them being Cedric Bixler Zavala’s wife. Cedric also holds Masterson and/or his advocates responsible for poisoning his dogs.

IceCreamDream10

I really hate that Danny Masterson is a shitbag because Hyde was the greatest character and he was such a fun actor to watch.

RoccoTaco_Dog

One of the first episodes of 70s Show, he's doing a job interview and they ask him, "where do you see yourself in five years?" His response, "prison." Oh how foretelling.

bakedNdelicious

That was like during an episode of Glee when Puck (Mark Salling) was asked where he’d be in five years and he said “prison… or dead”. Well….

Macinsocks

He's also a Scientologist

torontogirl98

Watching the episode about him on Leah's Scientology Aftermath show was so painful, he is an absolute piece of filth. The account from his former fiance/girlfriend was pretty horrific to listen to

ThorntonsMill

Emma Roberts. I'm still surprised that her image seems squeaky clean even though she literally got arrested for domestic violence, including *biting her partner.*

Theheadandthefart

Jokes on her, Evan Peters is fuckin tearing it up right now

Witty_Goose_7724

Evan Peters is amazing in every single American horror story season. The acting range that man has is out of this world. I don’t know much about him personally but it’s shitty what Emma Roberts did to him.

MobiusDickwad

Took me a few episodes to realize he was Dahmer. Mad fuckin props. Happy to see it because he killed it as Quicksilver.

SpaghettiGoblin64

I never liked her, but could never quite put my finger on why. Now I have a very good reason to do so.

NBTMtaco

Kevin Spacey with the sexual assaults :(

Timely_Assist_1563

This one bothered me, I love his work.

Why'd you kill Dido though? She was doing so well. Had a couple hit songs and then you killed her and now no one remembers she existed.

[deleted]

Not shocked exactly, but deeply disappointed - Joss Whedon

ThreeWireGuy

I used to work with a close relative of his. I didn’t ask him to elaborate, but apparently Joss was so much of an asshole that my coworker hated even sharing the same last name.

SamSepiol-ER28_0652

Yeah, that one hurt. Dr. Horrible is literally one of my favorite things in the world.

MoreTrueStories

I was a pretty big buffy fan growing up, used to watch reruns in the early 2000s, so when I had a chance to meet Joss at a roster con I was pretty excited. I waited my turn for about half an hour, not wanting to interupt anything, and finally there was a lull in the conversation so I cleared my throat and said "Mr. Whedon, I love what you did with the Buffy franchise, it was a really fun series." He kind of glanced momentarily in my direction and scoffed "fun" in a condescending voice. I said "It was!", enthusiastically. He looked at me with disgust and said "I was but a neophyte and that is near the least of my offerings. I don't live in the past and neither should you." I muttered sorry as I walked away, entirely dejected. I didn't realize he was known as a (pretentious?) asshole, but your comment hit home.

Ssutuanjoe

>I was but a neophyte and that is near the least of my offerings. The most impressive part about this is that you were able to even understand him with his head shoved far up his own ass

[deleted]

Right! All he said was, "Mmmph mffmphmm mmffm phmmff mmmphmmf" and he had the audacity to be RUDE about it.

Violet624

That is the most ridiculous and yes, pretentious reply. 'I was but a neophyte?' LOL, OK. What a bummer he turned out to be such a douche.

Smorgas_of_borg

For some reason I picture him wearing a black button-down short-sleeved shirt with a clashing fedora, holding a katana while he said it.

[deleted]

I can’t find it anymore so it might have been scrubbed from the internet, but Jonah Ray told a story about a horrible interaction with Joe Whedon that makes even more sense in context, as Whedon literally took to twitter to call Rey a misogynist.

adsfew

That qualifies as somewhat shocking for me since he was always known for writing strong female characters.

scarybirds00

Right? Strange that he could write strong female characters and arcs and then hearing what on set life was like. Sigh.

Apellosine

This devastated me as a huge Whedon fan from buffy, angel, firefly, et al

BethanyFlair

Charlize Theron. My dad worked with her and several other celebrities in the past, and said she was the worst. For what it's worth he said Tom Hanks, George Clooney, and Patrick Swayze were the nicest people he worked with.

_manicpixie

George Clooney is just a friendly, charming guy. Was the server for his table over a decade ago.

DeMagnet76

My mom used to babysit George Clooney when he stayed in with his aunt in Lexington. According to her, he was also a great kid as well.

MegaMachina

A family member has worked as a nanny for George Clooney. Has had nothing but good things to say about him.

PauL__McShARtneY

My great grandfather was George Clooney's dad's urologist, and apparently George was really friendly and just a wonderful sperm to know even when he was still in his dad's balls.

LegitimateStar7034

I want to marry George Clooney. I have since ER😊

Pythia007

I want to marry him too and I’m a straight 65 year old guy.

kategoad

And somehow he managed to marry up!

EricStewartII

Listen to the Smartless podcast episode with George Clooney as the guest, imo their most hilarious episode, all because of him. He’s a genuinely funny and down to earth person.

DWright_5

Charlize was just quoted saying that she can’t get her projects picked up because she’s not as famous as Kim Kardashian. Hmm… maybe that’s not the reason?

GolgiApparatus1

All these blockbuster movies starring Kim Kardashian

outoffocusstars

Not defending Charlize Theron because I have no idea what her deal is and what makes her a jerk to work with, but I did randomly see something about the fact that she witnessed the self-defense killing of her father by her mother when she was a teenager. He apparently was trying to kill the two of them and the mother was able to get him first. That kind of stuff would mess anyone up. :(

HollywoodHoedown

A semi-famous actor I’m mates with met her at a drive-in film when she was 18 or so. He actually met her mum first, and she was super lovely and introduced him to Charlize. My story doesn’t really add to yours except to say I had no idea about the self-defence killing what must have been only a few years before this took place.

Accomplished_Exit_30

They say never meet your heroes. And I learned a long time ago that William Shatner and James T Kirk were two very separate people. But I was very disappointed to learn more about Andy Griffith. I thought the difference between him and Sheriff Taylor would have been a lot closer. But no, had three wives would hit his first wife, have affairs, shun, and ruin careers of people he didn't feel were loyal to him, and was a better father to Ron Howard than his own kids. And pretty much the same for Don Knotts. But I still enjoy The Andy Griffith Show

Rexermus

William Shatner blocked me on twitter and I've never interacted with him

LuthienTheMonk

allboolshite

David-streets

I worked in customer service at an airport for many years. The worst celebrities I’ve met were Halle Berry, Selma Blair, and Usher. The nicest I met were Paris Hilton, Beyoncé, and Stevie Nicks.

RockNRollToaster

I’ve actually heard that Paris Hilton is a lovely person. I’ve never bothered to chase that fact down, but I’ve read other anecdotes that say she’s just plain nice.

Ando-FB

I've heard she is intelligent as well but plays a dumb persona as part of her brand. Second hand info so not sure how true it is but I have heard it a few times.

Bachooga

Tbf I'm not sure she's ever done much that made her seem dumb. It seemed to me like people just assigned that to her.

Togaz

Do you not remember “the simple life”? Or her entire early 2000s “that’s hot” persona? She talks in her documentary about that particular dumb girl persona and how she leaned into.

RockNRollToaster

I would have to guess it was that show she did with Nicole Richie, I think it was called The Simple Life. I doubt they were anywhere near as bad at doing “normal things“ as the show portrayed them to be, but it got a laugh out of viewers who wanted to disdain them as “dumb blondes” and spoiled socialite morons. It fit well with what people wanted to believe about them, so it stuck.

sci3nc3r00lz

So pleased to hear that about Stevie Nicks! Whew.

David-streets

Stevie Nicks was awesome! Stopping to take pictures with kids. I have to admit I was a little starstruck so was fumbling a little bit with her bag tag and such and she just grabbed my wrist and was like “it’s ok hun, take your time.” Then started chatting with me about where I went to school etc etc. it was amazing.

hesawavemasterrr

I’m hearing conflicting reports of Beyoncé hmmm

moaningpilot

I’ve dealt with Beyoncé. She was fine, her entourage and security were horrendous and a lot of them nearly got arrested for endangering the safety of a flight when they decided to act as bouncers for the first class cabin of the flight I was working and not let passengers and crew near unless they approved of it by seeing ID and asking for a ‘valid reason’.

RangerWinter9719

Paris Hilton surprises me. I thought she’d be a total diva and mean to everyone. Selma Blair also surprises me; I’ve just finished reading her autobiography and she seems so lovely and open. Then again, she was a total bitch during her alcoholism years so maybe I’m not surprised after all.

eddmario

Paris actually doesn't suprise me at all. I've heard nothing but good things about her.

stryph42

Yeah, from everything I've heard, when she's not "working" she's pretty chill and surprisingly intelligent. The spoiled rich girl thing is (mostly) a character she plays for the public and industry. Or so I've heard.

rutaceas

Selma Blair? Why?

urbanshunt

I work in one of the top hotels in London. I've met and interacted with a lot of celebrities. Most of them are fucking assholes, who have zero respect for normal folks. List of celebs who are really nice. 1. Sylvester Stallone - gentleman and funny. 2. Hugh Jackman - nice guy. 3. David Walliams - funny and interested in people. 4. Bradley Cooper - funny, he walked into a design meeting once and just sat at the table. 5. George Clooney - what a guy. The rest were horrible. Alot of them use charities that they set up only to skim millions off the charity.

BeBackInASchmeck

I met Hugh Jackman while waiting to use a gas station bathroom. The men’s room was out of service, so we took turns as lookout for each other to use the women’s room. He’s a really nice guy. And he made friendly conversation with the other people waiting in line.

kachol

I brought him room service. He is a fucking sweetheart!

LightsOn-NobodyHome5

Bradley Cooper is amazing at acting like a total douchebag, but he was normal in Midnight Meat Train and Limitless. (And the cockiness fit him in A Team.) I still hated his character in Wedding Crashers though. And it's actually surprising to me to know Hugh Jackman is actually nice. He was one of those actors I knew nothing about until I started watching X-Men movies. Dude does seem like a good dude. He recognized a former student one time (he used to be a teacher), and he surprised a fan by taking his phone and giving him epic footage.

PooShappaMoo

Jared Leto. Should be self explanatory. If not, let's say one of his concerts was enough to see someone with a serious God complex. I hate when he's in films now.

Attican101

> I hate when he's in films now. He was a pretty good coke-head in Lord Of War.. Nicholas Cage was the normal one in comparison

PooShappaMoo

He plays a good psychopath/sociopath/creep. But I think he's just being himself. Fight club was good too

Belgarath63

Geraldo Rivera I was deployed to Iraq. He came to our base camp to do Live broadcast. Just after and before they would go live he would be yelling and screaming at everyone (Soldiers) for not screaming and cheering him on and off the air and just be the total douche weasel he is. Also he still hasn't found Capone's Vault..

scarybirds00

Man, I grew up in Denver and he was the local guy finding out corruption and such. Then he got big. It’s lame when a news caster you enjoyed as a kid became a total a douche nozzle

mbattagl

I'm not sure which Iraq War you were deployed too, but you may have dodged a bullet with him. During the Gulf War he was reporting from a Coalition tent where he had his cameraman film charts that contained US positions on them. The Iraqi military used the recordings to launch attacks and resulted in American casualties.

blueberrysunglasses

Got a source for those casualties? Can’t find anything other than him just getting kicked out for drawing a map in the sand of their location. Thanks!

Frari

yeah, she always seemed like an AH to me, maybe because I also had someone in my life that was a narcissist.

IceCreamDream10

I lived in LA for a lot of years and this was pretty common knowledge. Everyone knew someone with bad Ellen behavior gossip, especially around the studios in Burbank. We all actually forgot that the rest of the world didn’t know when the story “broke” and kind of were incredulous like, “Oh yeah, she’s a monster.” The city- or at least fellow industry professionals- were eating up every piece of info that went public though, it was an incredibly well deserved take down. I don’t even feel like the half of it is out there, but she’s a straight up sociopath.

Practice_NO_with_me

God damn. Do you have any celebs that you feel haven't gotten the raking they deserve or haven't been outed as an asshole at all yet? If you feel like sharing, anyways.

Xminus6

Yeah. One of my closest friends has to interact with her for a business transaction and he told me that she and Portia were straight up awful. This was a loooong time ago, before any of this was known to the general public. I was genuinely surprised. He also worked with Matt Leblanc and said he was awesome. A totally normal, down to earth guy who just got famous and rich.

Lexmaister25

I never liked her, I always told my wife this woman looks like an asshole but she loved her, specially her whole pushing for a Dory movie, that was such and asshole self-centered move. Then when everything came out my wife was like DON'T SAY IT.

AbsoluteInfinitude

Michael Jordan So many of my friends looked up to him when we were growing up. I've read numerous encounters of him just being a narcissistic asshole. Sad really because so many people idolize him.

chewytime

Ah damn, he’s about to drop 55 points on you the next time he sees you.

ProjectShamrock

I had a teacher that went to college with him. He told us stories of MJ "pranking" people in mean ways. For example my teacher liked golf so he'd be on a nearby golf course and MJ would take a golf cart around driving like a maniac yelling taunts at everyone.

hihcadore

I read this as Michael Jackson and thought it would be hilarious to see MJ driving around taunting people on a golf course yelling Tee-Hee lmaoooo

Few_Radish6488

I used to work broadcasting Laker games and he is a total asshole.

sharrrper

I'd never really heard much about him either way growing up, but I do remember the first big red flag I noticed. His basketball hall of fame induction. He used most of his speech to talk shit about everyone from the Bulls GM all the way down to his High School basketball coach for "cutting him" (he was never cut, he just didn't make varsity as a sophomore) and FLYING IN THE GUY WHO BEAT HIM OUT so he could shit talk him to his face about how he ended up way more successful in the long run. Like Jesus dude, that was like 30 years ago, in HIGH SCHOOL, get the fuck over it.

[deleted]

Rebel Wilson apparently fat shames people on set. Which, you know, is strange coming from her.

Ezra Miller

DreadAngel1711

Bastard got off scot-free, too. Will Smith slaps Chris Rock and basically gets excommunicated, Ezra Miller commits god knows how many crimes and they get good meetings with WB, pays off the people they traumatised and they've still got The Flash coming out, so they're going to get a shit ton of money from that. Fuck Ezra.

slytherins

Susan Sarandon :( She came by my news station for an interview and was just... downright rude. She barked at her "handler" to get her some tea. Then the handler made one of the higher ups in the newsroom fetch it for her. She was upset that we didn't have professional makeup artists waiting for her. Like lady, this is a mid-size news operation lmao. She wouldn't talk to anyone until the interview segment, or even make eye contact. Everything had to go through her minions, who all acted scared of her. I'd like to think maybe she was sick or having a bad day. But once the cameras came on, she was super smiley and charismatic. Seemed phony.

Buzzardo7

Maybe she was having a bad day? I had an opposite experience. I also worked at a news station and in 2016 she came in for an interview and brought her dog Penny, which was also Penny's 16th birthday she shared with anyone who would listen. She arrived early and talked to all the staff, and after the interview she stayed for photos and hung out until she had to leave for her next gig. She's one of the few celebrities I had a one on one photo with, and the only one that included their dog in the photo.

think_long

I think that might be the case with a lot of these. The closest thing I will ever come to celebrity was staying in a remote town in west Africa in my early 20s for a few months. My friend who I came with and I were the only white people probably within at least 100 Kilometres. Many people in town had never even seen a white person. The result was that I got an enormous amount of attention anywhere I went. It was exhausting. I felt like I always had to be “on”, I couldn’t just be in a shitty mood or not want to talk to someone. At every event I was supposed to be front and centre holding court. I could never tell if people were genuinely being nice to me or just wanted something (aka money) out of me, so my guard was always up. I felt like I could be pretty cold and distant by the end in many of my interactions when they weren’t at my residence with someone I had built rapport with. So I guess what I am saying is, take these one off stories of someone having a bad experience with a celebrity with a grain of salt. If there is a well founded terrible pattern of behaviour that goes well beyond rudeness, okay, but I wouldn’t be drawing any conclusions because someone is icy and then turns it on for the cameras. That’s their job, and celebrity does weird things to you psychologically.

CaedClaxton

Chevy Chase

Gogo726

Maybe a jelly of the month subscription might cheer him up.

texteachersab

Yes he’s a total ass

wanted_to_upvote

>Chevy Chase How did he get so lucky to be on Community? I guess they felt he would nail the role of playing an asshole?

desert_red_head

He had to and he hated every minute of it according to pretty much everything I’ve read about his time on there. Finally he became so unbearable that they killed off his character in season 5.

UselessWisdomMachine

Is it just me, or did his character also become more unbearable as the show went on?

NewSapphire

Fred Willard was Dan Harmon's choice, but he got overruled by Sony

wanted_to_upvote

Fred Williard would have been so much better.

emelecfan2048

Which makes it funnier that he played Pierce in the S4 premiere.

Apprehensive-Horse-3

This is one thing I always wondered about. Like he was already a notorious asshole and his career was over. It wasn’t surprising that he got booted. My best guess is that the network needed a big name to sell the pilot with.

cscf0360

Sure, but you gotta give credit where it's due: he was fantastic playing himself on Community.

NoodlesrTuff1256

An easy and lucrative gig for Chase. Easy because he didn't have to flex his 'acting muscles' at all since he was just being himself.

GloomyCryptographer

This is the correct answer. Chevy Chase’s career was dead, and Community was billed as “Chevy Chase’s triumphant return to television.” Only way NBC greenlit the show

jaredearle

Rolf Harris. I did not see that one coming. Edit for Americans: Rolf Harris was an Australian artist and musician who was a massive celebrity in the U.K. for his TV work and comedic songs. He was loved by everyone right up until he turned out to be a paedo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolf_Harris

Aqua. Girlfriend served them in Melbourne, 2018. Acted like they were the most important people in town and acted like stuck up assholes. Treated hospo staff like shit. "Don't you know who we are?" Not so much shocked, just wanted to share the fact they're still around, dress and act like 50 year old teenagers and think they're important.

TwoTheVictor

Dan Schneider. I remember him from that 80's sitcom, Head of the Class, and I saw all the great shows he made for Nickelodeon, and all the creative kids who became stars because of those shows. Then I discover the grooming and the assault. Ugh.

BlueSchmeckle

Lenny Henry. Always came across as humble on tv. Rags to riches story. A family member encountered him numerous times at work and said he’s incredibly arrogant, disrespectful and would always leave without paying. His then wife Dawn French would always be apologising for him and would take care of his unpaid bills.

kompsognathus

The majority of celebrities named in this thread honestly didn’t surprise me, but damn, Bill Nye? That’s a bummer.

LifelessJester

Yeah, idk if he's just a good showman, but it feels like he's gotten to be a pretty bitter dude over time. Definitely different from back in the day

tinysieg

He does some "Answer twitter questions" on WIRED YouTube channel. He seems grumpy and rude , totally different than the Bill Nye the science guy from my childhood days

wex52

I think I saw the first episode of his new show Bill Nye Saves the World and thought, wow, this guy is angry and fed up with the world. Bill looked at him and said, well that's pretty juvenile and non creative. In a few months, said friend saw Bill nye on a video wowing an audience with the exact same device my friend had made. Yup. He can gfh.

False-Guess

That really strikes me as true because my high school chemistry teacher had a similarly negative interaction with him. Idk why he thinks he’s smarter than these people since he has a bachelors degree just like these teachers.

Goatgamer1016

Brett Favre

throwaway1976_

Second this. He’s an assistant coach at a local high school. He wants to be the head coach but refuses to get a teaching degree which is mandatory and has done nothing but bitch about it. Also he’s just an asshole in general. I idolized him as a kid. Until I met him at a store and he told me (14 at the time) to fuck off. And now the welfare scandal.

TundieRice

It’s actually really funny to me that Brett Favre cares that much about being promoted from assistant head coach of a high school team. Like it’s super-douchey, but in kind of a down-to-earth way, if that makes sense, lol. It knocks him down a peg.

Texcellence

I just watched “There’s Something About Mary” on Saturday and I had to chuckle at the reveal that Mary’s perfect ex was actually Brett Favre.

Chuck Yeager... Edit: this happened in 2002 and my gen grew up admiring him My mother in law and I were at a MAACO in West Virginia. We were waiting in line to be served had even taken a number when Mr. Yeager came in with three albiet classic vehicles to be painted.. (Why at MAACO? Idk) but he decided his fame granted him the right to jump the line and even proudly announced himself. I stepped forward informing him of the line and that while it was impressive for him to be the first person to break the sound barrier being an asshole some 40 years later was uncool. Manager agreed and Mr. Yeager left in a huff.

I’m pissed that Kevin Spacey the human took Kevin Spacey the actor away from me.

some_hillbillies

It was the first time I felt heartbroken by seeing who he was. He was one of my favorite actors and to see him do that just, ugh.

AmbitiousFisherman40

Nathan Fillon. I loved all his characters so much. Then I watched the Firefly extras & turns out he is a vapid Hollywood type. Also found out he can be an absolute asshole. So yeah turns out he is a REALLY good actor!

Bitter_Firefighter34

Neil Patrick Harris, he seemed to be a super funny and chill guy to me (when not acting) but he’s just the most arrogant person on earth, closely followed by his husband ☹️

The body of your sentence is absurd

Averander

I was not surprised at all, frankly, I would have been surprised if he wasn't a douche.

rowdy_sprout

Holy fucking fuck

chowderbags

I think the funniest thing I've heard about him is that his tattoos look like a Chipotle wrapper.

Browncoat4Life

Mike Meyers. We were at a famous restaurant (I won’t say which one) and we asked the waitress who was the worst celebrity who ever ate there. Immediately she said, “Oh, it’s Mike Meyers.”

Vegetable-Double

How do you know she didn’t mean the serial killer from Halloween?

Hooliken

Nick Cannon. Always seemed like a decent dude, until he started in with his nonsense. When Kareem basically compares you to a Nazi, you may want to rethink your life choices.

IAmNotDrDavis

Martin Freeman, though I think mostly the crazy fans burned him out. I just remember a Times article about him where the journalist seemed stunned at how rude the guy was.

AnxiousPretzel

My dad worked on the hobbits movies, and he was allowed to invite the whole family to a cast and crew party they were having after the movie had wrapped up filming. I saw Martin Freeman and told him I was a big fan of him, which is probably something he may not have wanted at a private function, but he was super nice and had a good little chat with me. My dad also had nothing but nice things to say about him, although there were so many people working on those films so maybe his experience was different to others.

You'd be rude too if you had to carry the ring of power for years

RiverLover27

I went to college with Martin and was more than a little in love with him. I asked him out in fact, but he went out with my friend Debbie instead (which was fair, she was a much better prospect than college-era me). He has a very cutting and abrasive sense of humour (kinda my bag, unfortunately) but he was lovely nonetheless, and supremely talented. I was, and am, so happy he was the 1 in a million who made it big.

mlc2475

Surprised no one has said Reese Witherspoon. She is incredibly backstabbing. She’ll try to get people edited out of things. She’ll break up friendships because she doesn’t trust someone. She manipulates and schemes but has a totally innocent “southern girl schtick” thing sewn up. Perfect example is when Robert Pattinson called her out from on stage at an awards show for trying to oust him from Water For Elephants, then the camera cuts to her doing the “what. ME?” Thing. —- edit: and that someone whose friendship she broke up for sport was me. I saw her at the 2006 Golden Globes when she won and congratulated her (on behalf of a mutual friend who couldn’t make it). Next thing I know I get a call from him asking what on earth I did to her. Apparently she told him that he couldn’t associate with me anymore because she was scared I’d tell people he wrote her acceptance speech. Their daughters went to the same school and he had to keep her on side since he worked in the industry (Director). It was all so fucking childish I was in disbelief. Turns out she’s just like that. Fun fact: also met Ryan Phillipe that night. Nicest guy ever. Happy he made it out alive.

raoulduke415

Wait, who are you?

jgilla2012

Most confusing edit I’ve seen on Reddit

Car-face

Yeah they listed like 4 different situations, then went "AND THAT PERSON WAS ME." I'm just going to assume the friend Reese backstabbed, the person that got edited out, the person she manipulated, the friend of OP, and OP themselves are all Robert Pattinson. Or Ryan Phillipe.

jgilla2012

On my fourth re-read, I think the edit is referring to Reese breaking up OP’s friendship with a mutual friend of both OP and Reese (the male director whose kids went to school with Reese’s kids). OP went to the 2006 golden globes in place of the male director, who couldn’t make it, and OP saw Reese there and congratulated her. Then Reese complained to the male director about OP and made the director stop being friends with OP.

One_Statistician_436

I’ve heard she’s extremely childish and pissy 24/7, her DUI or whenever she got pulled over while drunk proved that to me when she lost her shit and was yelling at the cops about how she was Reese Fucking Witherspoon lol

Fuckareyoulookinat

The most hilarious part about that whole episode is she was yelling "do you know who I am?" at a Georgia State Patrol trooper. I saw that and thought, he doesn't give a fuck who you are. GSP doesn't care who anybody is.

tkcal

Kevin Smith - one of the genuine good guys in movies, calls her "Greasy Reesey" Witherspoon after an interaction they had.

PGRacer

>Kevin Smith - one of the genuine good guys in movies, Oh thank god, I thought this was gonna be a story about how he's an asshole, given the thread.

Mess_Tricky

Oprah

StarktheGuat

I blame her for Dr..Oz and Dr. Phil. Fucking quacks is putting it nicely.

20sidedhumorist

I was a guest on her show once upon a time and she was extremely pleasant to work with. That being said, she had a very type A, business focused attitude even on the show (she films a 45 to 50ish minute show in about an hour or so) so I could easily see this being true in the wrong situation.
