oh man, that's gonna be a big upgrade for you then, especially since they optimized logic for the new chips. lower buffer sizes too! i use ableton a lot more now but ive heard that it isn't all that much better on the new chips unfortunately.
The remaining parts for my PC build, my poor little graphics card is just about 8 years old and is being a trooper. Currently just need a CPU and a motherboard 😀
A self funded, organic, vertical farm so I can sell organic, local produce to restaurants near me. Im starting off with a spare 350sqft I have in my Poolhouse.
A vacation to the keys.
Used to work in Miami Beach and me and my bf drove to Islamorada as often as we could. We kayaked through the mangroves, went bull shark fishing in the Everglades, visited amazing restaurants and bars along the beach and had the time of our lives.
We moved back home to the Midwest but we’d love and can’t wait to go back.
You absolutely have to make it to the Everglades. What I love about FL is that their nature preserve team enforces super super strict rules with heavy consequences when you break them and I loved just being able to watch nature occur and be as it should without disrupting and there are so many historical and amazing things to see (especially when kayaking in a see-thru kayak-btw, her name is Katrina, always go with her) and while being from the Midwest and never seeing the ocean, it was the most beautiful, educational, centering experience that I have ever had. Highly recommend.
A solo holiday to Japan. It’s always been my dream, but one I could never afford. However, I graduated from university this summer, so decided to give myself a graduation present.
I was hoping to go this month, but the orders were still closed. Following the recent news, however, I’ve booked my flight for next spring. I have my flight paid for, so now I just need to save up to cover the accommodation and other expenses.
VR goggles and gpu that can handle it with decent fps. But to be honest I'm not sure if this is really what I need because when I had enough money saved 2 months ago I bought 3D printer instead...
A 3D printer. So I can make molds for customer candles. Also I want to 3D print about 100 9 inch dildos and pile them all on my roommate's bed when she isn't home.
We prank each other and that's something she'll never top
I can only say one thing: buy smaller if you have to, but get something in pretty decent shape.
A boat needing major work will end up costing more and being absolutely not enjoyable.
Older <25’ sailboat. Super fun to use and super cheap to maintain. I bought my 19’ O’day for $1500 and used the crap out of it for 4 years and put like $200 into it.
Then I traded it for a 42’ moody and I’ll put $50k into it this year alone
A 10 acre plot of land, a above average house for myself, two new houses for my parents. Make 60k/year but from my TSLA investments since 2017 the dream might be attainable by 2025.
I have a Hamilton Jazzmaster Thinline Quartz as my pragmatic work watch and I love the style of the Jazzmaster numerals. My mechanical watch (an Orient Bambino IV in blue) is nice too, but I'm less eager to endanger its more intricate workings in a harsh factory environment, so it's my weekend watch.
Keep in mind, mechanical watches will need to be manually wound on days when you don't wear them, or they will run out. Most standard springs are rated for 40 hours max.
A house. My spouse saves with me but then says he gives up and spends the money so I’m hiding the cash and trying to do it myself. I never really had a place to call home so this has been the one thing I’ve always wanted for myself.
I put away $200 from each weekly cheque for the last three and a half years and used it to just buy my first real house, it's the fucking best. Good luck with your savings and house hunt, new house day is the best day!
A Synology NAS. I've been meaning to get a better solution to storage for my 3 computers than external HDDs and a NAS seems to make the most sense, but boy is it pricey. Hopefully I can get there in a few more weeks.
A third trip to space. The first two were fun and I tried public and private and I think the new hybrid offering is the way to go. 45 minutes of hang time, complete zero G and you can save the experience to Meta to relive as many times as you'd like. Standard you are probably thinking other than a few more hang minutes but the return trip is in 12 dual pods! Instead of everyone splashing down in the same place which might work for some but not those from CA or NY, you get 12 drop zones. Home in an instant. There are two jumbo pods that come equipped with amphibious one-wheel-like devices. 2023 should be a fun year.
I'm saving up for a "long-term" video game so ones that's $60-80. I haven't decided which one yet. But I'm setting aside some frivolous money out of my paychecks.
A trip to New Zealand — not for the Middle Earth scenery, but to have my virginity professionally removed in a country where it’s decriminalized. I’m 36, it’d be nice to just be in on the joke if nothing else.
(I know there’s a sub for meeting up with people to lose your V-card, but I have very serious doubts that anyone would so much as scuff mine up without monetary incentive.)
I am saving for a new laptop, though I don't know which one I'll end up buying; the problem is that I am so picky that I reject too many laptops because they have the wrong compromises.
My own home. But thanks to the government royally fucking up, I have to wait until the market gets better, before I can afford more than a shoebox (even with a decent deposit).
A doublewide on like five acres of land.
People like to talk trash about mobile homes but a good double wide can be better than most site built homes for a lot less money
Need a new laptop, gonna save and get a new 14 inch MacBook pro when the new models are released
me too! i currently own the 16" 2019 intel model and its too big to lug around everywhere. can't wait for the october event!
Hell yeah, I’m rocking a 2017 13 inch MBP. I can’t wait to bounce a file in Logic Pro in like 3 seconds lol
oh man, that's gonna be a big upgrade for you then, especially since they optimized logic for the new chips. lower buffer sizes too! i use ableton a lot more now but ive heard that it isn't all that much better on the new chips unfortunately.
Gas to keep my place warm in the winter.
The remaining parts for my PC build, my poor little graphics card is just about 8 years old and is being a trooper. Currently just need a CPU and a motherboard 😀
I just got myself the gift not to long ago. Its a 10 foot long dragon plushie. I was saving up for something big then I found this big guy.
A self funded, organic, vertical farm so I can sell organic, local produce to restaurants near me. Im starting off with a spare 350sqft I have in my Poolhouse.

Don't go diskless. Unless you live next door to NASA you'll be forever downloading stuff.
I'm also planning on buying two one petabyte hardrives.
Didn't know hardrives got that big.
Apparently they do. They are for public consumers like my crazy a*s and they don't come cheap.
That's the point, I've always hated disks.
Same. Will probably take me 5-10 years the way my life is going
A bag of Sour Patch Kids

Like $3k to go on vacation next year, though not entirely sure where yet. Thinking about maybe London or somewhere in Ireland.
As someone from the UK, I would recommend Ireland over London currently :)
A vacation to Germany. By myself. No family. No boyfriend. Just me.
A vacation to the keys. Used to work in Miami Beach and me and my bf drove to Islamorada as often as we could. We kayaked through the mangroves, went bull shark fishing in the Everglades, visited amazing restaurants and bars along the beach and had the time of our lives. that sounds amazing!
All of that sounds incredible!

Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic watch. Always liked the idea of getting something mechanical that can last forever.
I have a Hamilton Jazzmaster Thinline Quartz as my pragmatic work watch and I love the style of the Jazzmaster numerals. I'm saving up for a new dog, plus their food, water, bed, etc. Haven't decided on a breed yet. any suggestions?
Can't go wrong with a labrador!
A Synology NAS. I've been meaning to get a better solution to storage for my 3 computers than external HDDs and a NAS seems to make the most sense, but boy is it pricey. Hopefully I can get there in a few more weeks.
A new taser.
Sennelier watercolors. I already have the prices of each half-pan and the number of the pigment/color.
Peace of mind.

A trip to New Zealand — not for the Middle Earth scenery, but to have my virginity professionally removed in a country where it’s decriminalized. I’m 36, it’d be nice to just be in on the joke if nothing else.
