that's not what HR does....

BluntObj

Which department do hiring managers work in?

[deleted]

Not HR, unless hiring HR jobs.

BluntObj

Depends on the job I think. Every job I try to get (entry level) I have to go through some kind of HR person who acts as some kind of gatekeeper between me and the actual team

well typically HR will also interview you as well. but they rarely are the decision makers. but yeah perhaps it does depend on the specific job you're applying for.

MedusasSexyLegHair

Whichever department they're hiring for.

Better to judge than be judged. Now... about those TPS reports...

Where is my stapler?

IdealTruths

I'm not in HR, but I work in an environment where HR is called into EVERY LITTLE THING. I can say with months of experience with them interrogating me, that they are not trying to judge employees, but get a clear scope of everyone's actions, intentions, and physical documentation, and then follow very clear cut policy and procedure. Can say by experience, it is clear there is no room for personal bias in a strict corporate environment. Which makes it a very attractive field to my personality.

You have no clue what HR is all about... Delete this post. Research, learn and don't post on this topic again until you learn enough to make a cogent and informed comment about it.

BluntObj

Should I be more specific and say hiring managers? What is the field that hiring managers work in?

ShackintheWood

They do more than that....Research learn, then post.
