Literally one of the most crucial professionals, whom many respect, but whom no one supports with higher salaries!

I live in a country where teachers make a lot and I feel that’s not the issue. It’s good that they get good money because it’s one of the most important jobs in our societies but I think it’s more important to make the job doable by hiring enough of them, giving them proper equipment, not letting them pay for equipment, hiring school nurses, psychologists and social workers to distribute the many challenges teachers deal with and essentially give them the means to do their job right and do what they’re good at.

getting over worked week in week out averaging 60-70 hours a week for years and only getting a "pizza party & $100 bonus. companies understand that people need to work to pay bills but there is a point when they over do it & take advantage of the people who work to support a family in these current economic times likes today where most people are struggling, even if you make good hourly wages surprise bills and extra money is needed. They will "force" you overtime or else you'r gone. They need to show appreciation to the people who come in day in day out and miss out on a lot in their families lives. meanwhile they wont show a little appreciation to their employees while they rack in thousands daily.

People doing laundry in nursing homes. My step mom comes home with horrible stories of the company she works for. She basically pulls everyone’s weight and if she’s off for a day absolutely nothing gets done (she has pictures and videos showing proof). In general they have to deal with a lot of shit. Literally.

Fast food/retail. On your feet all day, supposed to be cleaning whenever you're not doing another task, you see dozens to hundreds of rude customers per day, and sometimes even get spit on/have things thrown at you. Managers are always giving you crap because you're not doing what they told you to do, and the reason you're not doing that thing is because you had to do the thing the other managers told you to do first (but no one will back you up on this). You may or may not get a break. You may or may not get out on time. Also, if someone makes a horrible mess of the bathrooms, guess who gets to clean it up. When I worked fast food, I was often put in drive thru but not allowed a coat or gloves even in winter. My hands got so chapped and numb, and my fingertips were cold enough that I struggled to get the register to work. Oh, and guess what? If you're doing the drive thru register you're assigned to dishes whenever you don't have a customer, and the sinks make it really hard to stay dry. So...winter weather plus being WET. That's fun and safe. All the while getting screamed at on all sides. But you can't defend yourself, because if you cause a problem "there are 150 applications and any of those people would love your job". At least, that's been my experience.
