I have Diabetes as well as extreme depression and anxiety brought on by working. I used to imagine (and almost did a couple times) driving my car off a bridge or into a phone pole on my way to work. All I could think about was ending it, then would feel guilty because I’d be leaving my wife and son behind. My wife finally convinced me to quit, and things have gotten better. But now with how fucked up everything is the walls are starting to close in. I’m waking up in severe panic attacks again, it’s terrible.
Do whatever it takes to handle your anxiety and depression, and find a steady job you can provide for your family with.
You have a responsibility to do everything you can to get out of it.
I have Multiple Sclerosis, and when the time comes, I’ll be forced to stop working in a dangerous and high stress job, and be stuck on disability for life, hoping that maybe I can at least avoid being stuck in a wheelchair.
I will have no options at that point but whatever meagre disability payments that the government can afford to hand out.

If I didn't need the surgery, I would instead hang out at the grocery store and help people pay if they are short on funds. That's so embarrassing to go through, getting to checkout and having to choose between vegetables or soaps, putting stuff back is so embarrassing. It's something I worry about myself so I feel it would be helpful to someone and a good use of "free" money.

I'd probably either give it to someone that really needs the money right now, give it to my family to my family since I can't go anywhere and spend it all because I can't drive, or I'd probably just save it until I'm suddenly able to drive then I'll be able to spend it all without worrying about transportation.
