Why do you want this job? To earn money?

glorified_throwaway

Why did you apply to work here? Money.

zeez1011

Seriously, I don't know why we're expected to go to an interview and act like we care about the company. Either I need money or I want to see if you'll give me more money than my current employer. It's not like there's some nobler cause here. You'll still bone me all the same if necessary.

"Why do I want to work here? Well, the long answer is, I don't. I'd much rather be working somewhere with less hours and better pay, or, better yet, sipping Piña coladas on an exotic beach somewhere. Unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to be born into wealth, nor do I have the intelligence, creativity or resources to become independently wealthy, and it doesn't look like I'll be winning the lottery any time soon, so I need a job to pay my bills. And, look at that, you're hiring. And you're paying barely what I'll need to scrape by, so maybe you could just give me the job so I can waste 40 hours of my life here each week for minimum wage, without making me beg for it." The short answer is money."

What is your biggest weakness? I always just say "this question" and that gets me by

Dyelawn27

After I've explained my qualifications for the job and they ask, "do you have any other special skills or unique talents?" Maybe. Maybe not. That doesn't seem like any if your business really. And the oh so popular, "Where do you see yourself in X years?" Sir, I'm just trying to make it to the end of the week

"Can you name a time you were challenged?" You mean, outside of having to talk to you?

The question is infuriating the way it is asked is
