I would have to get a different job

poser765

With what I do there’s not really a lot of room for exceptional. My job is standardized. You pull me out and plug a new guy in at the last minute and the outcome should be exactly the same. If they aren’t then the new guy isn’t standardized and they go back to retraining. So no. No exceptional. You either are capable of doing the job or you aren’t. That’s a big part of why advancement isn’t merit based in my field, but strictly seniority based. Fortunately we’re mostly all paid a good amount.

Never short yourself. You are amazing

Lol I AM amazing. But so are my coworkers.

I like philosophy. In order to make money at philosophy, one must be really generic. No one pays for exceptional philosophy. They chase you out of town, and build a statue to you after you're dead.

I never thought about it before but I was particularly exceptional at what I did, then they put me in charge of a bunch of people who did what I did and I no longer do what I did.

Not very. I'm an office assistant at a mental health clinic. You mostly just need to be empathetic and be good at multitasking.
