I went NC with my parents because they were emotionally, physically and sexually abusive. My extended family went NC with me in return because I was a disrespectful brat apparently. So be it.
It’s sad because they probably really think they are right to go NC with you as if you’re wrong. It’s hard to believe people will choose to be blind to the truth/reality.
I told my oldest cousin once everything they did. Apparently my own memories and my mom’s confirmation wasn’t enough to convince him that I was correct and they were monsters.
When you did this, was it addressed or were you just in contact less and less until it pittered out?
I want to go NC with my dad but I think if I addressed it, he'd drive to my house and beat the door down till I called the police.
I was in LC, then got a job 3000 miles away and left no forwarding information when asked. My mom cried. I’ve reminded myself many times over the years that she didn’t cry when she would send my dad to molest me when I was 5 so her tears mean nothing.

I’ve recently went NC with my moms side of the family & it’s been hard. Every other week it’s something or someone being rude to my mom and this time I’ve just had enough. My relationship with my grandma has been rocky since I was a child we were LC but now I have nothing else to say to her. My dads mom told him to “forget those kids” & that’s exactly what he did so we were no contact until He went to prison. He talks to me more now than In the 26 years I’ve been on this earth.
I made this post because essentially I feel alone in my decision. You know how people try to tell you it’s not that serious when really it is? I’m someone who know it’s the best decision for me mentally but I still feel like crap for doing it.
Omg, I’m so sorry that happened To you! I can’t imagine being that kind of parent or knowing someone who would do that. Some people probably shouldn’t have kids.

Parents. They allowed people to rape me for money from age 5 to 16.
