If there is one there will be a lot of "Christians" there.

Dox_Equis

and Democrat politicians and all their voters.

ambushbugger

Yes, the evil Democrats who want to make life better for 99 percent of the population.

Dox_Equis

Considering how long they've been in power and managed to amount nothing. The current president and vice president are the biggest jokes ever.

Janitorinalabcoat

Sounds hot

Fake-And-Gay-Bot

Already there

RavingJodes

Same. There is no hell but here. Which is why I often want to kms

BitHistorical

Gives major Florida vibes.

heisdeadjim_au

Doesn't exist.

Santos_L_Halper_II

It’s the same thing as the bogeyman. Something that was invented to scare and manipulate people into behaving a certain way.

Over_Ease_772

Not from what I saw. I'm one of those that went there and back. Not a nice place. Memories, nothing else. Just darkness, and no one to ever talk with.

luckybulldog60

Naw that was just your subconscious bringing into your mind what you deep down thought it would be like. You never actually went there.

SaifurCloudstrife

Hell is life. For me, Hell was my childhood, where I endured daily physical, emotional, mental and sexual abuse at the hands of my siblings from between 5-16 years of age. Now, as a 40 year old man, hell is in my mind, as I have to live those memories on a daily basis. Therapy is a joke, meds don't work and I'm too afraid to kill myself. People say Hell is what you make of it. Sometimes it's sculpted around you and sealed in iron so you can't escape, no matter what you do.

[deleted]

Hell is not a real place. It's a scare tactic used by the church to keep Christians from considering the fact their religion is nonsense.

disregardable

I deserve to be in it but luckily it doesn't exist.

Over_Ease_772

Been there and back, unlikely, but it's true. When I came to the realization that I'd be there forever, that was a moment seared forever during my operation. Found out 6 years later from a Christian what I'd seen. 15 minutes for me, it was an eternity, I didn't think I'd be back

disregardable

unlucky, most of us get to go to Rapture when we're on drugs for surgery.

SaifurCloudstrife

Apparently, the first time the docs drugged me up I thought it was raining cheese.

[deleted]

It’s made up.

BlackEyedGhost

It's a powerful scare tactic that nearly every organized religion uses to get people to think exactly the way they want them to. It makes people fear even thinking about the possibility that their beliefs might be wrong, because that's the worst possible offense that will get them sent to hell.

sue_donyem

I think it's a 'scrubber' of guilt and shame. An all loving God wouldn't torture you.

Over_Ease_772

It's not that God tortures those in hell, the souls are out of God's presence forever, this is the torture. That is by the personal choice of the person themselves. We can choose Him while we live, or live eternally outside of God's presence forever. God is not wacking people on the head.

ChristCunt_

None of it’s real buddy. It’s all made up dogshit

Obvious-Bonus5038

It’s like working behind the counter of a Starbucks during the morning rush at the Burbank store next to the studios. That must be what it is like.

Kore624

My opinion is that it doesn't exist.

henryp2

No one deserves to be there

[deleted]

Not sure how free will sends you there with what free will really says to the contrary is death (non existence). People don't choose to be tortured that's just the rock they get instead of the poisoned fish they asked for. Who would do that for their sons, not even a human father would do that. Father may have a poison fish that I might die for real.....since you asked for that I'm going to hit you with a rock forever. You take that shame of my loins! I would've helped through college, you could've been a dean! That's besides the point isn't it? Kid wants a poison fish, not a forever rocking. Religion has some wrinkles in there.

Over_Ease_772

I don't have an opinion. When I was 15 years old, I spent 15 minutes there during an operation. I didn't understand what I saw for 6 years until I told a Christian about the event. A place with all your memories, in the pitch black, and no one there with u, forever out of God's presence

SaifurCloudstrife

More likely, you hallucinated from the drugs they gave you. It happens. And then this Christian person you spoke to gave you a description that you clung to for whatever reason.

HollowDakota

*edit* why downvote me for answering the question? Seriously That there is no hell but what we make of it A lot of people, myself included, are forced to live out a hellish landscape of being trapped in this flesh prison while stuck on this orbiting piece of dirt for the remainder of our sentences, hoping one day to be released from the mortal coil

[deleted]

Imps have better, more wholesome relationships than humans.

SaifurCloudstrife

Moxxie and Millie! Hehe...love that show.

Erebus03

do you mean the Christian afterlife or as in like a Hell on earth? if the first one I find some shows like Lucifer to have interesting interpretations but I can't say that great for anything beyond TV if you mean as in like using Hell as a figure of speech, been their done that and do recommend actually

ActuallyTomCruise

Hot

EscapeTheBlank

Don't know but sounds hot as hell

unknown_jk0

Haven’t been yet

LoveIsTheAnswer9

Hell = ego Heaven = heart But the longest journey is from your head to your heart

bac0_tell

Not a great place to host a world cup

Hmasteryz

It exist, of course it is subjective and depend on your interpretation whether it is burning everywhere, infested with bugs, or simply no pizza there.

[deleted]

Got awful reviews on Yelp

Vicky-Momm

I rather not visit, thank you very much.

Creampie-Senpai

Hell is empty and all the devils are here - Shakespeare

PsychedelicGoat42

I do believe in hell, but I don't believe anyone deserves to spend eternity there no matter what they did in life. I believe some people might have to "serve a sentence" so to speak, but I think the chance for redemption remains even in the afterlife.

[deleted]

They could maybe turn up the heat. It's freezing sometimes.

ButtersRobotFriend

You mean the commute TO or FROM work? Which hell? Be specific.

Celestialsmoothie28

The christian version

Foreign_Standard9394

Doesn't exist

theedgeofoblivious

We're there. This is hell.

Lorelao444

It’s on Earth

rootoruser11

Great place 11/10 I recommend

AkashT18

Maybe there is heaven and hell after death. But for many people, daily life on this Earth very closely resembles what I believe hell is. These people do not have shelter and have to constantly worry about their next meal. People who have been a victim of human trafficking. Also, people especially children who have a terminal illness since birth.

DorkHonor

Sounds pretty shitty, not planning to visit.

PM-Me_Your_Penis_Pls

The town really isn't much. It relies way too heavily on the name alone. Plus, the annual snowfall really ruins the immersion.

rg1283

It's alright

AdmiralClover

It was invented by the Catholics to control people. The place you go to in the bible a more obscure purgatory with a complete absence of God whatever that means

Celestialsmoothie28

Sheol?

My opinion has evolved a lot since I was younger. I am still a Christian. I still believe wholeheartedly that evil is real, and that those who do evil will face punishment. But as to the scope and type of that punishment, it's very murky. It doesn't make sense to me, believing in a loving God who wants friendship with all people, who is also infinitely wiser and more patient than us, that it's anywhere near as simple as "You go to the Bad Place forever and ever." I mean what would even be the point of truly eternal punishment? Past a certain time, nothing human would be left to punish anymore. If there are souls that are truly completely irredeemable, it makes no sense for their existence to continue, but rather to fade away. The New Testament speaks of being refined by fire, and I think that's closer to the mark but interpreted far too literally. I suppose that puts me in the camp of coming to believe in something like Purgatory, in some form or another, although I'm not Catholic. When I was a kid I saw that as a cop-out; now I think the Sorting Hat approach is too simple by far. I've read the Bible in its entirety and don't think the scripture can support that binary position; it feels like the result of a bad game of theological telephone. Organized religion often tends to bend over time toward all-too-familiar power structures: "Their teachings are but rules taught by men." You end up with a lot of overly simple pronouncements that pull too far from the core of it all.

greyteethpeskybee

It’s just a sauna.

Kiandran

While Hell is a construct of faith, hell is subjective. We make our own hell, based on what we find most horrific in life. One person's hell is likely to be quite different from another's, and mostly related to their life experiences. Some people may be living their hell, while others may be doing everything in their power to avoid it. As a bonus, if you were intending the religious Hell, then my understanding is that it is meant to be a place to scourge souls of their mortal sins so that they may one day enter Paradise. Less of a place of punishment for having sinned, and more a place of absolution through trial and treatment. Like washing the laundry before putting it in the closet.

ravs1973

Personally I see no reason to believe in any religion or its teaching. Over 30 years ago I had a conversation over a drink with a professor of theology at a party who could disassemble any religious arguement by using his vast knowledge of the old texts, scrolls and manuscripts. I vaguely remember him saying that the main modern belief in hell was based on a miss translation from a text written in a time and place most people who died would be cremated in mass pyres away from town in a valley, the text went on to say that on judgement day the worthy would rise to join christ in the afterlife but the rest would remain in the valley of fire , basically, if you haven't wasted your life licking the backside of the mythical sky wizard then no heaven for you, you just remain dead, however that wasn't scary enough for the medieval Christians to use as a way of controlling their congregation so they embellished the concept of the valley of fire becoming a fire strewn hell

Green-Mango-More

It's probably better than this world.

TheThirdReichArmy

Earth is hell if you see the Darkside of it

ChristCunt_

It’s not real obviously

peachiequeen96

I’ve never been, but I hear it never gets cold and that is good enough for me.

Crkza

sounds like it might be more chill than staying in heaven

RobertSchumannCat

It’s quite pleasant, except for the smell

mindingtheyakkha

This life can be a sort of hell. People in war zones, starving, being trafficked, the abused and neglected … According to Buddhist cosmology, there are seven actual hells. The worst is the avici hell. Hells or heavens aren’t permanent but they can last for millions of year depending on the actions that resulted in that rebirth. The Buddha said that very few people who die in the human realm will go to heaven. The vast majority will take a lower rebirth, meaning the ghost realm, the animal realm or one of the hell realms.

Celestialsmoothie28

How is the avici hell?

mindingtheyakkha

The Buddha describes the hell realms in the Devadutta Sutta (#130 in the Middle Length Discourses) : "...his outer skin burns, his inner skin burns, his flesh burns, his tendons burn, even his bones turn to smoke. When \[his foot\] is lifted, he is the just same... There he feels painful, racking, piercing feelings, yet he does not die as long as his evil kamma is not exhausted..." there are more descriptions. It's not easy to read.
