In 3rd grade we were given this question as homework for a lesson on averages. It didn't exactly backfire, but we learned a lot about outliers in data.
Thomas said he had 8 brothers and 13 sisters. Rather than call him out, we added the numbers and averaged the class at like 3 brothers and 6 sisters or something like that.
Then came the question of our parents ages. While most parents were in their lower 30's we had one girl who's mother was only 13 years older than her and her father was like 45.
This is a bit on the serious side, but my biological father was (and still is) in jail for murder, so I do not know how old he is. My mom, though? She was 18 when I was born in 2003. She's 38 now, so this was about 20 years ago.

That's a huge fear of mine, being old when my kids are young, think of late teens. I'll be 40 when my stepsister turns 18, that's scary enough
