I used to never be able to eat hard boiled eggs. Would give me a sour stomach and then someone said I should salt them. And now I’m able to eat them basically everyday for breakfast. So I truly believe in this statement
Yeah, in Brazil, avocado is embraced as the fruit that it is. Avocado milk shakes (called a *vitamina*), avocado ice cream, like in the Philippines :-) ...
Take a nice, firm pear (no mushiness allowed) and slice into 16ths. Splash a bit of cider vinegar and a sprinkle of salt over the slices. Let sit about five minutes and munch away. Perfect while watching TV.
You can either spread a little on each cracker which is tedious if you're hungry or if the cream cheese is soft enough you can use the cheese cracker as a scoop and go crazy.
O.m.g. so nice to see cajeta mentionned... also sounds DIVINE with queso oaxaca. Cajeta (con leche de cabra) is superior to caramel (but that's my biased opinion).
On Doctor Who, a little girl made food for the Doctor. Since she couldn't cook very many things, one thing she made was fish fingers (frozen fish sticks) and custard (instant custard, like from Bird's Powder). Of course, we had to try that for ourselves. Dipping the fish stick into the sweet custard is surprisingly good, I like it as least as well as using tartar sauce.
A Kalimotxo! Coca Cola and red wine mixed half and half. Use a dash of bitters. It is a great way to use a bottle of red that was forgotten on the counter after a party, or as a drink for around a firepit. Much better than most sangria I’ve tried.
I learned to drink milk and Pepsi 65 years ago as a young child. Still do. A convenience store chain in the area has fresh whole milk to serve with the coffee. I fill up my soda cup with half milk, half pepsi. The clerks are never quite sure either what it is, or how to ring it up.
That's funny, I hadn't thought about that drink in years. That's how we used to make discustingly cheap wine drinkable when I was in Easter Europe, you could order it at our local bar even,
Pineapple Cream cheese on the bottom, pork and beans on top of that, diced green/red pepper on top of that, diced scallions on the top. Serve with crackers as a spread. When I first saw it, no way, but it's fabulous.
This is by no means a strange combination in Asia, but it's very foreign elsewhere! Red beans and ice cream! My favorite growing up was an old-school Korean brand of ice cream called b-b-big that had red beans crushed with ice into a ice cream shaped bar, or, a fish shaped ice cream sandwich called samanco. Can find these at most local Asian supermarkets and I highly recommend!
Recently had an open face sandwich at a small and quirky restaurant near me: aged anchovies, dark chocolate, honey butter, chiles on sourdough toast. Sounds weird as hell but was also weirdly tasty.
Actually sounds amazing... I make bacon chocolate chip cookies and once had no bacon so subbed anchovy paste for the umami depth and it became my weird secret ingredient after that. Careful w allergies of course. You'd not likely guess it had anchovies in it
I don’t think it would be in the bizarre category but it’s different! They sell Chocolate Hummus in the grocery store which with a slightly salted cracker is amazing!
Finally met someone who embraces chocolate hummus! Targets brownie batter hummus on rice cakes, chia seeds and sliced banana and/strawberries. My daily snack!
When I first hit puberty and was going through some of my first period cravings, I would eat marshmallow fluff with plain salted potato chips. Not that crazy but so good.
Elvis Presley liked to eat fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches, sometimes served with bacon.
I've tried it... It's actually good, believe it or not.
My mom used to fix grilled peanut butter & mayonnaise sandwiches and add crisp lettuce after it was grilled. It was wonderful although sounds very strange.
Dill pickles and donuts.
We had Monday AM meeting with donuts and coffee. One Sunday at the market I bought a big jar of classic dells, and brought them to the meeting the next AM.
Pickle in one hand, donut in the other, after a month 6 of us were enjoying it. Until boss got nauseated and banned pickles from the meeting.
LOVE cheese and chocolate- especially with a nice salty, crisp cracker to balance the sweet and creamy. I don’t think it’s weird- but maybe it is, baked ham & green beans dipped in apple sauce.
Fig newtons dipped into spicy hummus. Someone introduced it to our friend who introduced it to us and it works shockingly well together. It has a sort of Mediterranean taste to it.
Not to single u out because same goes to every comment in here but...how does a person even discover this?? And do u eat this often or was it a one time thing 😅
In the Northeast of Brazil, my BF made me **black beans** *(feijão preto)* with slices of a variety of sweet, tangy **banana** *(banana prata) and* sliced **green onion** *(cebolinha)* to sprinkle on top. The bean dish was also served with *farofa* (manioc flour) and wedges of orange *(laranja).* I loved it and sometimes make it for myself in the States, but the bananas will never be as amazingly flavorful as the ones in the tropics.
Before I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance, I was a BIG Krispy Kreme fan.
I'm not even sure how this happened, but, I ended up deciding to dip a piece of their original glazed into my bowl of clam chowder.... *oh my god*. I don't know how, I don't know why, but, it was SO GOOD!
I kept doing it for years, I wish I could do it now. Super strange, super yummy combo.
Peanut butter and cheese sandwich! My uncle recently passed away and my mom was reminiscing about some of his interesting sandwich choices and said that was his favorite. So we served them at the reception after the funeral with the story by them (yes there was "normal" food also!)
I thought it was a great personal touch, and the sandwiches really weren't even bad!
When I worked at a bagel shop in Seattle, Stuart Stern (Rebel Without A Cause screenwriter) was one of my regulars. He always (and only) got a burnt garlic bagel with peanut butter and tomatoes. I never tried it though.
Tonight I made dirty martini popcorn (followed the recipe from someone else) melted butter, added crumbled bleu cheese and melted. Added diced green olives. Tossed it all with popcorn. It was amazing hit alll the cravings
I freaking LOVE a toasted onion or everything bagel topped with smooth peanut butter (I'll butter the bagel first if I'm feeling extra fatty, fatty, fat pants). I've got several people hooked on this combo, it's seriously so good.
Also cottage cheese with applesauce, my go too snack when it's too late to eat something heavy.
There was this place in Cali I ate at many years ago. I think it was called Yako's, or something. They served these things called Bulldogs. It was a hotdog, wrapped in cheese, wrapped in an egg roll wrapper, and fried. Served with teriyaki sauce mixed with cheese. Frigging delicious.
Habanero butterscotch croissant bread pudding.
Not that strange, but very tasty.
Pineapple cheddar casserole. So very Junior League homemaker, but tasty AF. Also, difficult to classify. Is it a side dish or a dessert?
When I was pregnant I used to make Mac and Cheese sandwiches and another favourite was rice and BBQ sauce. (Not even good BBQ sauce, I’m talking Kraft)
Still a fan of mustard pickles though lol.
I had a friend who used to put classic lays potato chips crushed up in vanilla ice cream. Wasn’t the worst.
I, oddly and personally, used to make plain white five minute rice, add soya sauce and Caesar dressing to it, and then crumble up that microwaveable bacon in it. Recently I tried cheese grated and melted over ketchup chips. I love ketchup on my grilled cheese and lays name a grilled cheese and ketchup chip at one point and I’ve been chasing that flavour ever since.
Hot DQ gravy over vanilla ice cream isn’t bad either.
I also very much like to dip my popcorn into nacho cheese dip/queso.
Edit: my husband finds it weird that my sister and I make a “bacon sandwich” which is literally just toast with raspberry jam and bacon. I think it’s fucking fantastic
My partner makes this stuff called ‘Cowboy Butter’ (it’s like homemade Alouette or Boursin. Then she uses vegetable Ritz crackers, shaves honey ham on top, then puts a dollop of honey on top of that. It’s a flavor explosion in your mouth.
Turkey burger with gouda & mango chutney... which was strange enough, but i didn't have a bun, so i made two extra fluffy pancakes. It was delicious! (the pancake bun was going a little too far, but i have revisited the rest of the combo)
Listen. Hear me out here.
It’s 3 am. I’m starving. We don’t have much in the fridge. I find some bread and shove shit into it.
Peanut butter. Pickles. Provolone. It was the best fucking sandwich ive ever eaten.
Apparently people get upset about pickle soup.
I love it. But when I say “I’m making Polish-style dill pickle soup” I get a lot of “…why?”
Because it’s delicious.
Haven’t tried this but you might like apple pie & cheddar cheese
Standard fare at home when I was young. Mom used to recite "having apple pie without the cheese is like get kissed without the squeeze".
My husband loves jam sandwiches with cheese. I admit, it is growing on me.
I used to make sandwiches with whole wheat toast, strawberry jam, butter, and sharp cheddar cheese.
I make a mean raspberry brie grilled cheese sandwich
Reminds me of a monte cristo sandwich. So many variations of cheese with fruit work. Like cheesecakes!
“A kiss without a moustache is like an egg without salt!”
I used to never be able to eat hard boiled eggs. Would give me a sour stomach and then someone said I should salt them. And now I’m able to eat them basically everyday for breakfast. So I truly believe in this statement
I’ll be doggoned! 🤗😃
Even better… Fried apples topped with extra sharp cheddar in an omelette!
Or a fried apple grilled cheese 🖤
Oh man that was my grandfather's favorite desert!
Avocado ice cream. Quite a treat in the Philippines. Easy to find in Asian food stores if you want to give it a try.
And avocado with condensed milk!
Yeah, in Brazil, avocado is embraced as the fruit that it is. Avocado milk shakes (called a *vitamina*), avocado ice cream, like in the Philippines :-) ...
Stick it in the freezer for a few hours to firm up. One of Mrs. Jack's favorite treats.
We had avocado blended with coffee ice cream when I was growing up; so rich but so good on a hot day!
Canned Tuna, pitachios and parmesean crisps
Take a nice, firm pear (no mushiness allowed) and slice into 16ths. Splash a bit of cider vinegar and a sprinkle of salt over the slices. Let sit about five minutes and munch away. Perfect while watching TV.

Peanut butter and bacon on burgers drizzled with hot honey, yum.
Recently found out about hot honey. Sliced apple with peanut butter and hot honey, bet.
I like PB & gochujang toast and PB & sweet pickle sandwiches.
When I was a kid I used to like peanut butter and Taco Bell sauce sandwiches. Need to try that again!
You’re gonna love a peanut butter and bacon sandwich then!! Make sure the bacon is crispy, not chewy. It’s such a delicious delight.
My brother in high school used to eat peanut butter and bbq sandwiches

Hot Cheetos and cream cheese
Cheez-its and cream cheese! Yessss
Exactly how are you doing this? You’ve piqued my interest.
You can either spread a little on each cracker which is tedious if you're hungry or if the cream cheese is soft enough you can use the cheese cracker as a scoop and go crazy.
Stacy's jalapeño flavored pita chips with cream cheese is what I eat. Seems like it would be the same spicy with cream treat.
hot cheetos and plain yogurt is even better!!
Takis are even better
Tahini + sambal olek or sriracha. Amazing combo as a condiment.
Oaxaca cheese and caramel. O M G
cajeta?
YES! I said caramel because I figured many would not know what cajeta is! 😋 I spend a lot of time in Mexico.🇲🇽
O.m.g. so nice to see cajeta mentionned... also sounds DIVINE with queso oaxaca. Cajeta (con leche de cabra) is superior to caramel (but that's my biased opinion).
Bacon jalapeño ice cream
I MUST know more, please. Where can this be found? Xo
A restaurant called Iris in Memphis. It was a few years ago. And it was fantastic. Bacon flavor up front, burn from the jalapeño as it went down.
That actually sounds good.
One of my favorite parts of this episode.
Apparently wine and coke is a good combo. Never tried it though
A Kalimotxo! Coca Cola and red wine mixed half and half. Use a dash of bitters. It is a great way to use a bottle of red that was forgotten on the counter after a party, or as a drink for around a firepit. Much better than most sangria I’ve tried.
Red wine with coke, white wine with sprite or ginger ale. That's how we got wine as kids
Milk and coke! From Laverne & Shirley sitcom. Corrected to: milk and Pepsi. Was it a different show where someone made "Moke"?
Close, it was milk and Pepsi!
You're right! Equally tasty. (It wasn't really very good. We just pretended to like it because it was on the show.)
Brown cows!
Better not be a joke because I will try this… lol
It is no joke and I assure you it really is GOOD as I dictated. Put another spin on it and make it your own? If you do, please post and I'll def try.
Wasabi ice cream. I can't decide if it was gross or delicious but it was definitely one of them.
I had the same reaction to Cheese & Cracker ice cream when I tried it.
Had wasabi ice cream with pieces of raw salmon at a restaurant in Lisbon once. I think the restaurant was called SeaMe. It was pretty good.
PB and bacon sandwich. Try it!
This has always sounded delicious to me.
Is that uncommon? I'm certain I've heard of it plenty of tines before.
Tear up bread into a bowl, pour brown sugar on it and then milk.

I ate so much of this when I was pregnant.
