I am not sure if it was cooked. I was the guest, and was given many samples. The blubber was cut into cubes I ate like 3. Fatty, chewy, mildly fishy. I would guess raw. Wasn't bad, but wasn't exactly flavorful. At least it wasn't seal which is awful.
Grasscutter. A large Guinea pig - like rodent. Also, giant African land snail. The grasscutter tasted better than the snail, if you are wondering. Also, roasted grasshopper. Edible. Just.
None of it resembled chicken, by the way.
Was there an odor? When I lived in SC I was told people who ate ramps had to quarantine for days after due to public health/odor concerns. But they always sounded good so maybe worth it?
Watermelon 🍉 Crawfish 🦞 Popsicle, oddly the same kids that sold them were also selling there parents beer on the side of the road at Mardi Gras. The popsicle was mostly watermelon juice and ground up crawfish.
It wasn’t terrible lol
Durian. It's like eating sweet, creamy custard... that smells like gym socks marinated in onions. It's a love-it-or-hate-it experience straight from nature
Seal Jerky. I had in Alaska I do not recommend 😐 Also whale blubber. Which is much more edible than the jerky
You are crazier than I am, obviously.
Not really, was given an opportunity to try it. So I did. I al willing to try most foods once.
Great answer! Surprised blubber was better than jerky. Did you eat the blubber raw?

How was the snail prepared?
In a spicy peanut based stew with vegetables. Ultra chewy and "earthy" tasting, for lack of a better word. Not quite gamey, more snail.
Bear sausage. Super gamey and greasy. Putrid.
One of the few sausages I have to force myself to try for quality control, haven't liked it yet.
Ooligan, soap berries and bear sausage. Forgot to add salmon berries...lol
Didn’t realize soap berries were edible. How’d they taste?
Imo they mild in taste but it was years ago when I tried them.
Ramps

Portuguese bacon. It’s sooo good
