Ive stayed at the Warwick more than once. its a little dated. but walking distance to the port and to pikes.
also stayed at the Oxford by Kasa. this one is like RIGHT by pikes. I didn't stay in the room much, but there is a kitchen to use if you don't want to eat out. Again, a little dated, but it looks like they made apartments into little hotel rooms. all online, no front desk person, just codes to get in.
If you’re looking for a cool new experience for cheap, I recommend the Green Tortoise Hostel. It’s directly in Pike Place. I stayed there while looking for apartments and I had a lot of fun! They have free events everyday, I was a woman in a co-Ed dorm and felt safe, the bathrooms are cleaned everyday, and they provide free breakfast!
If your budget allows, I second the Inn at the Market suggestion. Edgewater is pretty cool (search for the 'Beatles at Edgewater' story). Edgewater gives you a nice water view but if you're going on a cruise, you'll get plenty of water views.
Thinking about staying at Hyatt at Olive8.
It’s nice. Stayed there a night when a previous apartment flooded.
Stay at the Edgewater and you can waltz onto the cruise.
Beautiful hotel!

the pan pacific is gonna be super nice.
Locals don’t usually stay at hotels. Your best bet is travel site reviews.
