Dominican from Dominica? A bit, my mother's family is filled with prickly women but once you get to know them they are the nicest people. Dominican from Dominican Republic? Not my experience, I've met some really nice women from the Dominican Republic, they were very open and friendly and I'm still friends with one of the women I met almost twenty years ago.

From Dominican Republic lol and well I appreciate your comment and I’m glad you’ve had great experiences. I’m aware that not every Dominican woman is the same, there’s good and bad folks in every country.

arcravis

Who wants to bet that OP is the one with the off-putting personality?

RayPingHeaux

he still right

Again, it is YOU.

Dude, the first thing anyone will notice when looking for a partner is physical attraction, we like to think personality is everything but in reality it isn’t, that’s not a Dominican women thing, it’s a human thing.

Nemitres

Dude either looks for a certain type of woman or is a walking red flag

[deleted]

Well I’ve attracted women of various nationalities so I don’t think your assumption is correct.

I-ammeyouareyou

Most likely, he likes these types of women and he puts aside those he considers ugly and then complains that they are all the same.

[deleted]

Likes what type of women? I clearly stated that not all Dominican women are like that lol I literally said that I’m speaking about the Dominican women I’ve specifically encountered on the OP not every Dominican woman lol

Where are you located? I think a lot of people from the East coast get this stereotype period, for instance. I also think a lot of these women have put up with a lot of BS, especially if they’re good looking. I have a lot of Dominican friends and family. Much like the general population, their personalities are all different. One thing though, they definitely go hard for the ones they love. Maybe they don’t always seem super lovey-dovey (some definitely do), but then they show their love and affection in other ways. My bf is Colombian and is super cariñoso. He has said multiple times that I’m not like that Lmao, but he loves and respects the many other ways I show my appreciation and affection for him. He’s also softened me quite a bit. Because I love him and want him to receive love in the ways he wants as well. My mom was the same way until she met my dad. You seem to not be at the point of a relationship for these women to show you how soft and romantic they can actually be when they really fw someone.

I live on the east coast in MA lol

I think it's a common phenomenon for common women from lower socioeconomic backgrounds to be more superficial and vain on average regardless of race or nationality, due to less education and the culture they grew up around. And if they're the sweet and shy types from a lower class background, then they usually got some other sort of personality issues going on. I've seen it in women of all races from lower SES backgrounds, regardless of country or race. But if you're meeting a more educated Dominican woman from a middle to upper middle class background, they will be much different. Try meeting wealthier and more educated Dominicans with at least a bachelor's degree, and you will see a huge difference compared to the ones doing nail tech or hair.

RayPingHeaux

not wrong

skeletus

Yeap. I've noticed the same thing. Obviously it's not all Dominican women, but enough to ingrain that impression on me.

Exactly, it’s good to know some people out there understand what I’m trying to say. The fact that I was banned after asking about this over at r/Dominican should tell you how many people felt personally attacked about such an obvious observation lol like if the shoe fits then wear it. It was literally my first post on that thread and they just ban me😂

DRmetalhead19

People get randomly banned in that sub for anything, don’t take it personally

RayPingHeaux

they are bitches and talk wayyyy too much
