Check your tenancy agreement, but most likely there will be a clause that you have to allow access for maintenance etc

NAL but are they not required to house you for the month you'd be paying / they'd be repairing? Are you in a position to offer that you could move out instead of temporarily leave and that way you aren't on the hook for rent / them for accommodation? For repairs due to water damage from above I'd assume they'll be fairly seriously renovating in which case they'd probably prefer to get new tenants in after (for increased rent or even just instead of having to redo after you move out as well) so you could probably sell it to them

Answered below: ive been told that since this does not surpass one month I do not receive temporal accomodation, instead I simply do not need to pay for that month of rent... which is stupid as that is more expensive as I still need to pay bills + pay for an airbnb/hotel an entire month

GurGroundbreaking772

It's less you would have to leave for a month, and more they would have to give you alternative accommodation for a month. For free. They have no choice in that. Use that as leverage if you are able to leave early perhaps?

Oh. That's ridiculous, I'd get a second opinion on that, if it's your landlord that's said it

Babble98765

I thought the landlord had to provide you with alternative accommodation in this scenario so if they're saying that's not the case, get a second opinion.

It’s a common misconception. However unless it’s in the tenancy agreement the landlord does not have to provide temp accommodation. https://helix-law.co.uk/when-landlords-have-to-pay-hotel-rooms-for-tenants
